I'm just curious if there are any kits or aftermarket sources for passenger car and light truck diesel engines. I'm planning to do a couple of diesel rat rod models, but all I can find are the big-rig diesels. Anything from a 4-cylinder turbo to a 7.3 Powerstroke would work!
Yeah.
Call me when you do a rendering of a Top Fuel Trabant funny car. Or, you can just call me if you'd like to chat. (About how cool a rendering of a Top Fuel Trabant would be.)
I've never seen any ribbed, Mopar branded Hemi valve covers,in neither styrene nor resin, but I think Ken is right- SOMEBODY's bound to have a set out sooner or later.
Yeah, Harold- that nose is a pain, installation-wise. I remeber building one years ago, and I managed to get the headlamp buckets up into the holes AFTER I'd glued on the nose, but I doubt I could do it again, much less if I'd WANT to do it!
This is a scratchbuilt body based on a VW Kubelwagen. Hasegawa makes one, but I didn't want to spend the cash on one just now. If somebody made a Thing kit,I'd have probably started with that! Anyway, here it is- I basically just wanted to build a stupid little motorized box with wheels on it. Success!
And just for future reference, I believe the reissued Monogram (Revell box) '32 Ford Roadster kit has an 8-ball decal for the shift knob, for those who aren't as good at painting small numbers!
That's kind of why I've always thought the Hays T-Bird was 1:25. I've never had that one, but I've gone through quite a few of the Monogram '87 Turbos! (I had a 1:1 black '87 5-speed Turbo Coupe another lifetime ago..,)
Wow- the guy sure did like his stock cars and light commercial stuff! And people think I'M a nutcase for having a couple hundred kits stashed! (Well, I am a nutcase, but that's beside the point! )
I'm most productive between the hours of ten PM and three AM as far as modeling goes. Then again, this '62 Pontiac was built in one night a year or so ago... the sun was just starting to set when I started on it, and just beginning to rise as I finished it! Reruns of Monster Quest and the progress I was making just kept pushing me onward.
Abandoned vehicle... rust... International... next time you see your neighbor, ask him how much he wants for it!
(Sure would make building a model of it much easier! )
Well stated, Dave! Aoshima's new stuff is great. This? Not so great. I'm still going to make a Volksrod out of it- toyish, crude kits like this are perfect for such things!
Uh... dude? You DO know there's a separate section for 1:1 photos!
Wow- all I can say is that's impressive! The DBS really looks good in white, and you did a phenomenal job on the build. Just fantastic!
