  1. Long story short, for the initial release of the Pro Street version we will have to stick with just those contents. We have located most of the Thunder Z parts and will probably release that version later on. I hope to do some the others too as we locate the loose inserts. We could probably include some stock decals this time around but since this version is a mishmash of the '79-80 parts I'm not sure which would be best. -Steve
  2. No, the Mystery date was started long before these other projects and is something John has been working exclusively on for a while now. -Steve
  3. We were saving this for the Detroit show but since this cat is already out of the bag, here's some early details. AMT1411 is new tooling, cloned copy of a MPC 1968 GTO promo with some very modest changes. Hood will be a separate part with some front under-hood details. Very simple chassis. Some improvements to parts assembly. Choice of Rally I or Rally II wheels. Will use vintage style wheel with separate wheel backs, mounting pins up front, metal axle in the back. This part of a project that will expand upon the Chraftsman Plus line. More to come in 2023 and 2024. I'm just not at liberty to share any more details at this time. 81 Camaro is old MPC tooling pulled from storage this year, will be same contents as the last version issued mid-eighties called Camaro Pro Street. All the stock parts are included except tires and wheels. At some later point I'll post content photos. -Steve
  4. Not new tires, just waiting on the pad print samples. -Steve
  5. Still shooting for by the end of the year, all the tooling is completed. Just waiting on tire samples, box art proof, things like that. I'm hoping it goes into production next month. It's out of my control after that. -Steve
  6. There will be an optional set of wheels and believe the optional R/T stripes will be on the decal sheet. The decals and packing are still work in progress. -Steve
  7. Currently looking at the test shots and making some minor revisions. Planned release is for this December, will know for sure once it's ready for production. -Steve
  8. Currently they would all have the same date, It's not a manufactured-on date. It's considered a run started date I believe. Once there is a re-order, they will get a new date. -Steve
  9. Same big and little hollow tires as the Polyglas tire set, just "rebranded" as Firestone Wide Ovals. Also, you can look forward to some unique sidewall treatments on future kits. The upcoming Monkeemobile will have the same big and little tires "rebranded" again this time as Goodyear Blue Streaks. -Steve
  10. No photos handy, but outwardly they look the same as the wire wheels in the newer tool AMT 1962 T-bird. The difference is that they are designed to be a drop in fit with the AMT annual kit style wheel backs and tires. Seasoned modelers will find lots of other uses for them, I'm sure. -Steve
  11. There are two new packs coming, a tire and wheel pack and a tire pack. AMTPP033 will be the Wire Wheel and Whitewalls set and will include 4 Firestone classic wide whitewalls with 5 K-H style wheels and center caps. The extra wheel is for use in a Continental kit. It will even have a center cap decal set with 5 or 6 choices. It should be out in the next month or so. These wheels will also included in the upcoming 66 T-bird kit but you only get 4. AMTPP034 will be a set of big and little Firestone Wide Ovals (4 of each) It will be similar to the Polyglas GT set, but we can no longer do that one due to licensing issues with the Polyglas name. No release yet for that one. I would love to do some other tire packs, but we don't have the licensing for any other brands right now. -Steve
  12. The hood was copied straight from the original 1966 annual kit with no requested changes, they're virtually identical if placed side by side and it can be used as restoration part if you have an old kit that missing one. If it's that far off well than so was the original. -Steve
  13. I did request they make the door handles a little bigger, we'll have to wait and see if they were able to do it. I'm waiting for the revised test shots. -Steve
  14. AMT-1365 1/25 1967 Oldsmobile 442 is the Lindberg kit in new AMT packaging and made in the USA. MPC-982 1/25 Li'l Hustler 1975 Datsun is a Flip Front Drag version. Unfortunately, there's no way to run the Stock parts and the Drag parts at the same time the way the inserts are designed. -Steve
  15. One of my goals when I joined Round 2 was to show them how they could expand their existing tooling without breaking the bank. The 1966 Mustang Coupe was chosen for a number of reasons including that it already some good optional parts. While I agree the original Fastback kit has some very cool optional parts of its own, to do them would have turned the project into a full kit cloning to be practical. So, in this case the answer is no. However, in the upcoming MPC 1968 Dodge Coronet RT kit. We did clone most of the vintage optional parts to try to give you the full build experience of the original kit. Something we intended to keep doing on future projects. -Steve
  16. It should fit the same on both sides, looks like a short shot issue to me. Please go to the Round2 website and either use the contact us or Replacement part section to explain the issue. It would be helpful if you got the production date codes for each kit. It's right below the bar code on the bottom of the box. -Steve
  17. Coming soon is AMT1363 '68 Plymouth Roadrunner kit which is a reissue of AMT849 from 2013. The box art has been freshened, instruction sheet has been fixed with the correct wiper motor part # and graphic. This fix will apply to all the B-body variants that share the same tooling. -Steve
  18. I'm pretty confident you'll be seeing additional light truck items coming from Round 2. You're just going to have to be very patient on seeing any announcements on what those items may be. 2023 should be a great year. Personal I think Moebius has done a brilliant job with their 65-72 Ford truck line-up warts and all. There are only so many vendors that actually do the kit production regardless of who and where the design work is done. We use the same vendor that's currently producing their Ramp Truck for many of our kits, and I have no doubt they will get any production issues straightened out. -Steve
  19. The rear valance panel design is nearly identical to the original 1966 annual with the tips molded in, except the placement is more accurate and there are now backup lamps which the annual kit was missing. While not perfect I'd still call it an improvement. Super detailers will want to drill them out and add short pieces of tubing to represent the tips better. -Steve
  20. First look at the AMT1305 1966 Mustang GT Fastback test shot. Tires shown are not finalized, so final content may be different. Photos from my phone is the best that I can do for now. Next time I'm at the office I'll see about additional photos. There're a few minor things needed before it will be approved for production, but I'd say were about 95% there. -Steve
  21. Tim, Even if your hunch is wrong, I have no doubt in my mind that John's current project is one that you would definitely be excited about. Currently we're waiting on some revised mockup parts. I'm hoping once he's happy with the design work and he approves it for tooling that one of us will be able to share with everyone just what it is. -Steve
  22. AMT1304 1978 Ford Bronco kits have already been shipped out around the 1st of July. They should be available by mid-August if there's no further delays. -Steve
  23. Repairs took longer than expected but I believe everything is now approved and it's in line for production. With luck they might be ready to ship by the end of the month. -Steve
  24. I really never intended on saying yes or no while guesses are listed. However, we've already had our big Move and TV themed announcement of the Black Beauty by Jamie who typically leads all the Sci-Fi and TV and Movie model projects. I did say this was John G's project. -Steve
  25. Already added to the list for late this year, MPC996M Monkee Mobile GTO with the original style box art so the band is on it. Expanded decal sheet and last I heard the tires will be big and little Goodyear Blue Streaks. Sorry no restored D.J. badges this time. Not the secret clone project obviously but someone did guess it correctly. -Steve
