  1. Never seen a resin one but there was at least one done as a diecast.
  2. I'm looking for resin COT parts to update and convert AMT's COT's to Nationwide cars. I saw them on eBay at one time but failed to buy them when I should have. Any suggestions where to buy these? Thanks, Mike
  3. Shirley's car was a hand me down from Connie Kalitta with an older chassis with a newer body. It was intended more of a match racer than a national competitor. Remember this was the time frame when you could run three match races in a week and pay the bills. You'd show up for a couple of national events for noterity to get bookings. Note the Chi-town Hustler and Jungle Jim. Both legendary teams with minimal national event wins. Here's another body up picture of it. 4. I wonder if I could use household silicone to make one..... I don't have resin casting supplies although I know its a skill I'd like to learn.
  5. The mold for the tuck and roll, what is that made of? Resin? This is an idea I really want to try.
  6. The motorcycles that most want are the Harleys..... I think Revell has doubts the price of the kit with the licensing fee would be too high for most hobbyists. The licensing fee would more than likely push the price to $12-15. It would sell to some diehards but most would pass.
  7. I'd love to find decals for the later version of the Revell Kit Mustang.
  8. It was the Hawaiian that either flew at the Winternationales or its replacement. It was originally published in one of the car modeling magazines of the era. I believe it was Car Model magazine but it could have been Model Car Science. It was posted on the Straight Line Modeler website but it appears that site is down.
  9. I could see this on my shopping list.
  10. My only complaint is the subject matter. There are several Kia's and Hyundais I'd much prefer in kit form. I really find the Veloster appealing (yes my taste can be questioned). I'd also wouldn't mind a Genesis. I'd would really like a Tiburon.
  11. Thanks for posting this.....I can't believe it was so long ago that drag racing was so good.
  12. I'd use the 69 as the main donor for the front clip. The hood scoop would be added to the '69. Maybe the spoiler would work or it might need scratch building.
  13. Looks like Lightning McQueen mixed with Dodge Challenger. In other words two portly cars mixed into a portly mess.
  14. Looking at this clear body and it is much better than I remember. It could be a good one to cast but Paul's point is well taken. Maybe converting to the '69 body would be cheaper. It all depends on the price and availability of the 69 body. Another thought would be to adapt the PL Mustang funny car. I'm not sure how close it is to stock but I do know it has a shorter wheelbase than the PL Chargers.
  15. Seems like a way to cut hobby shops out of the sales channel. Sorry....short term gain, long term lost for the hobby. I'll pass. I've got a good shop within twenty miles and would like to support it.
  16. Honestly, I'd think about adapting the Revell or MPC regular body to the OGM. I think it would be more accurate. The MPC OGM always struck me as having weak details.
  17. Birdcage.....just saying it makes me excited to say it.
  18. Wish they'd kit that now.
  19. Wow.....I love it. Does bring back some memories.
  20. Ask at the Indy Car Forum: http://mb2501.proboards.com/ I believe these are quite nice kits. You can also find some wip's there.
  21. This is the next to last front engined rail. The one that he got hurt in didn't have the full body. This is 12B see: http://www.garlits.com/swamprat12b.htm . The last FE car was by weird coincidence was SR 13 see: http://www.garlits.com/swamprat13.htm
  22. My fault......I was thinking the Jammer. I'll need to get one of these. I built it as a 12 year old. Maybe I'll paint it the right color this time. As for decals.....I'd like to see nice decals for both the Jammer and the first rear engined car. I've got a rear engined car that I'm working on. Scratch frame....and a lot of other scratch built pieces.
  23. I've got a case of the last issues. We can only hope that finally the decals will be better than they have been in the past. I'd really love for someone with an Alps to recreate the decals for this car as well as the rear engined car.
  24. You can adapt the two different Revell Vegas together. The noses and tail panels are a pretty easy swap. The wheel flares are a bit more challenging.
