  1. Very nice. You've honored your friend and that's very special.
  2. Very nice build. One of my favorite Tamiya colors.
  3. Always liked this car. Very nice build, all Ferrari's seem to look good in red.
  4. My photo set up is a Smith-Victor Corp. model #KT 750 tungsten photo flood lighting kit. I usually use 3 lights, 250 watts each, along with attached diffusers on the front of the light reflectors. Sometimes, I add a 4th 250 watt light for dark colors, and mount it directly above the model. I user a folding card table to mount my background, and adjust the lights on their stands for the effect(s) I want. I don't know if this kit is still available, as I've owned it for around 7 years, but you should be able to locate something similar. The first image is the kit: The second image is the plastic diffusers I use:
  5. Very nice, very sinister looking, beautiful smooth paint. I really like everything about this build. I love these JADA kits and wish they'd do more in plastic.
  6. Very nostalgic build, well done, sure brings back memories from my early modeling years.
  7. Dang Marc, that's beautiful. All your builds are superbly done.
  8. I like the "new" Hi Impact colors, but I agree about the pink color, needs some stripes in white or black.
  9. You can purchase it direct from Microscale. Clcik on "Finishing products" at the top of the page. Microscale
  10. Great looking license plate. For the benefit of those of us that don't receive the magazine, would it be too much to ask how you did this?
  11. Diymirage, I found that intake manifold and carbs in my Mopar engine parts bin, but I honestly don't know what kit it came from. And again, thanks everyone for the compliments.
  12. Great build, I love the paint and decals, very well done.
  13. Funny you mention that Sam, it's the exact reason I built this one. Thanks for the compliment.
  14. Thanks everyone, for the nice words. I've always been a Chevy guy but I have a soft spot for these B-bodies as well.
  15. I built this from the AMT kit, one of my favorite kits. I think I've built 5 or 6 of these over the years. It's painted with House of Kolor paints; the base color is Euro Red, and I masked off and fogged the side stripe with Silverwhite Pearl, Tru Blue Pearl and Violette Pearl, front to rear, then 3 coats of Shimrins clear and polished out. The wheels came from a Revell tuner kit and the tires are from Pegasus. Air cleaner removed to show the engine.
  16. One word; Wow! I love your true fire flames. I'd be very happy to be able to paint like that. Super job.
  17. I like it, very kool.
  18. This build is hardly old news. Very nicely done, nice chop, great color choice. I did this one many years ago from the old AMT kit, but I wasn't brave enough to attempt a top chop.
  19. Very nice, great wheel choice.
  20. Thanks again everyone for the kind words.
  21. I love AMC muscle cars, too bad there aren't any current kits available. Very nicely done and that engine is gorgeous.
  22. Wow. I really like this Jeff, nice deep color and a real ground scraper. Gotta love a low Kustom like this one.
  23. Now that's thinking outside the box. Great idea, nice execution, great color.
  24. Very nice lead sled, I love that color.
  25. Thanks everyone for the kind words. Railfreak, only one caveat with the kit, the outside rear view mirrors are very fragile, even after being glued to the body. Just use a little extra caution if you attach them before painting as mine snapped off twice after painting the body. Next time, I'll use some thin brass rod to super glue them to the body before painting.
