  1. Very good tip, I'll certainly find this technique useful for the next Impala I build.
  2. Very nice, I love the sepia toned image as well.
  3. I used to go to that Hobbytown as well, mostly for the paint, which they always seemed to have a good stock. Otherwise, there wasn't much and like others have said, in the last year the plastic section seemed to get smaller and smaller. When I lived in Rock Hill I used to go to Hobby Stop regularly. However, their prices seem inflated for kits ($30.00 for a snap kit seems a bit high to me) and they don't keep their Tamiya paints as well stocked as Hobbytown used to. I do most of my ordering online now anyway.
  4. I'm looking forward to the C7 Corvette and the Challenger. I can't wait to see what type of custom paint and wheels Chip might choose for those two kits.
  5. Love the blend of old school and new school, gotta love a deuce. Great stance as well.
  6. That's very cool, I really like the color and the wheels, great build.
  7. Way cool build, and the natural lighting for your photography looks superb.
  8. Wow, beautiful build.
  9. Very nice build of a classic automobile.
  10. Hugh, to answer your question about shelf life, I've been using the same bottles of two part epoxy for about 6 years. Never had any issue with shelf life, at least so far. The bottles last a long time and in my opinion are infinitely better than tubes.
  11. I also purchased a Pace Peacekeeper Deluxe paint booth a couple years ago. It's worth every penny. Using a proper exhaust out a nearby window you can literally paint all year long.
  12. Other than what others have already written, I can't think of anything else to add except that it's a beautiful build and the color combo really works. I sure wish that Round 2 could reissue some of these old 3 in 1 kits. Exceptional build superb quality.
  13. Now that's a story that gave me a good laugh.
  14. I kind of figured that. Apparently, not every Ollie's carries the same items.
  15. Now that's true craftsmanship, very nice.
  16. I went to my local Ollie's this morning. All they carry is Krylon Velvet. First time I've ever seen that paint. It would have been nice to obtain some Plasti Kote since I haven't seen any in several years in my area.
  17. Absolutely beautiful build. What a great save.
  18. I think every other can of Testors sprays are bad. The paint itself is great, but if I buy any Testors spray cans these days it's only to decant and airbrush. I've never understood why they don't correct these issues with their spray cans or come up with a better nozzle. On the other hand, I've never had an issue with any Tamiya spray can or nozzle.
  19. Yer killing me here, man. Positively gorgeous.
  20. Wow. Only word I can think of to describe my reaction. Beautiful build. Looks very realistic.
  21. Nice. Looks good in black. I had the same issue with the hood on the two I've built.
  22. Great color choice by your wife and very nice custom work you've done.
  23. Like the others said, very nice builds. The blue on the 36 Ford is stunning, very vibrant color.
  24. Fascinating work John. I'm amazed how much you've done in a only a few days. I'm old enough to remember reading the original article on this model back in 1965.
