Hi CT, i have an original cream colored 1964 issue built, and doors work just fine, I’m guessing this kit has been reissued so many times over the year’s that the tool for this kit has seen better days, i guess if I had fitted and worked a little on the door jams I could have gotten them to open and close a little better, but by the time I noticed the fit I had already painted the the model, and I wasn’t going to start removing paint, thanks CT, have a good one!!

thanks!! I do in my photo bucket but for some reason photo bucket won’t let me save my pics, I’ll try again tomorrow for ya .

No , it was a nice quick build, there’s only about 10 parts total with this kit, neat little kit but I think I’ll stick with my 1/25 scale cars.

I’m still in love with this build !! Bernard

Here’s a first for me , amt thunderbird 1/32 scale!! I’ve never built anything 1/32 scale before but since I was building a monogram 58 thunderbird this 60 caught my eye and the hobby shop, it cost 17 bucks so I thought why not ! Had to be a Watson style custom from early ‘60s for me , molded body lines, lowered, pair of Bellflower pipes, Appleton spot lights and metal flake gold base and candy brandy wine top and fogging, hope you like !!

First time for me building this kit, monogram 1958 thunderbird bubble top, this pretty much went together with no problem, with exception of the doors, those at the last minutes of the build got glued shut, wanting it to look pretty custom I shaved everything, added round rod to the body lines and molded in , rounded hood corners, also reworked front bumper and molded it in, then adding a metal flake silver base and fogging with house of kolor candy teal and a 2 part automotive clear, silver and teal interior, built box stock, I went ahead and painted the stock roof so I can switch if I like, all in all a fun and neat kit and took about two weeks on and off to build, Thanks for looking guys !!

Here’s what once was a very badly busted up glue bomb, but for some reason I couldn’t just toss it in the trash, I worked on this on and off for about 7 years!! I had this picture of a early’60’s show car in my head with this model, so I started with piercing the body back together and then cutting it back apart, I pan caked the hood, then hinging the door, hood and trunk then rounding all the corners and molding all the jams, useing the custom interior, windows and chassis from the amt 58 Chevy impala made everything a lot easier on this build, tuck in roll interior, trunk and hood, motor is from a monogram predicta, wheels and tires are from the amt surf woody, custom rear bumper and front grille, topped with black and a pearl purple for the bitty and gold flake top everything topped with a 2 k clear, I’m sure I’m for getting something , I’m really glad to finally have this finished and on my shelf and out of my head !! I posted a lot of pics, may too many !!! Hope you like !! Thanks for looking!!

Awesome looking bird ! I’ve got one in the works now, should be done shortly, having problems with the doors myself, I’m putting the bubble top on it so I’m thinking the smart thing to do Is close them permanently!! Yours looks beautiful!

Awesome looking build, ‘56 is my favorite of the tri fives , and I’ve owned 5 real 57 chevys! But 56 is my favorite, as a low rider is just a plus for me !!

Thanks guys !! Mark that’s a house of Kolor brandy wine concentrate, over a gold base, Mr Metallic yeah I think the change of tires looks so much cooler than what’s on the box , speedy I’ve got to see a pic of that candy purple coffin!!! Bet that looks cool! Thanks again guys !!
