Lately I’ve been on this thunderbird kick , why ? I’m not sure , but I just built two and just when I thought I was done with T-birds and move on to something else to build I see this in the trade section here on model cars magazine site, last week Paul Payne posted up a few 1/32 scale builds and parts up for trade, in the pile I see this little bird in pieces among the others and just had to have it, so a message was sent and a deal was made, the bird lands on my doorstep a couple days later, I dig though the parts bag , normally I just toss parts like this aside for future builds but for some reason I had to start this build, the model is a 1962 Aurora issue of a 1960 thunderbird, it was a built and taken apart car with a lot of glue here and there, I started by cleaning up all the parts, then doing some body work and primer, I mixed up a light blue for the body then fogging it in candy blue, on the top a mix of silver and a pearl gold then a 2 k clear coat over everything, painting interior to match , I use a liquid chrome paint to airbrush on the bumpers and hub caps, painted on some white walls, I didn’t use the windshield because it wasn’t in very good shape, may if I locate a nice windshield and rear window I’ll ad em, start to finish about 3 days, I looked up the original box and it says it’s a 1/32 scale , but I just built the 1/32 Amt 1960 thunderbird and it’s a little bigger than the Aurora so I’m not sure who’s correct scale wise, anyway here it is and I’m to building anything other than another Thunderbird!! Thanks for looking!!
