  1. Nice work so far..I always wondered why the blacked out panel lines? They aren't blacked out on real cars so why models..I know with mine I sand over the lines after I've rescribed them..Then I sand with a sanding stick to take away the raised areas around the lines that are there from the molds..Never have paint pull from the lines and have a very smooth sides....
  2. Winnipeg Manitoba Canada...Home of the real cold winters...LOL....We still got about 5 LHS still in business but I know its hard for them....
  3. Very nicely done..Sure does shine..One observation though..Hope you don't mind..If you do the Challenger mold the front pan on then make new panel lines like on the real cars..Will make a whole difference..Love your work Very clean and very well done...
  4. I use Duplicolor acrylic enamel(smells and dries like lacquer) very good results..Can is $7.99 here in Canada at Canadian Tire/Parts Source stores..Get the can with the black label...Bigger can and lasts longer..No cracks etc after use(years)..Models look to have very deep finishes with it..Highly recommended...
  5. Looks like some kick ass restorations going on there..Hope the boss pays the painter well.Looks like he does some KILLER work..Afterall it the final look that gets the crowd noticing..If its got flaws in it no one even gives it a second look..Those you've posted will get LOTS of looks/awards...
  6. Very well done and the color scheme is right on..Is that the Lindberg Chevy? and if so how can you tell on the box which one is the "corrected" version..Really liking you build..Very clean..
  7. Like some of the others have said..Its not my cup of tea or genre but its soooo clean and well done..You GOTTA LIKE this build..Super job on "Donkey"
  8. Didn't or don't have pictures to post...The first car was a 1965 Valiant Signet 2 dr ht..Three on the tree buckets and no console..Bought it for $1350.00 in 1968 and sold it for $2800.00 about six months later to my next door neighbors grand son..It was dark metallic blue, blue vinyl interior with full caps and w/w tires...Good looking car...Very reliable while I owned it and the guy who bought it had it for about 10 trouble free years...
  9. Hey UNCLESCOTT 58, sorry to mix up your thread( I don't know how to send you a direct mail)..Where in Minneapolis are you? I travel to Shakopee to see my daughter a few times a year..Maybe we could hook up and talk and look at your models some time....
  10. I like your build..I like the box-stock thing..I can paint and foil(not bad) but don't have the patience for wiring or plumbing and scratchbuilding..I can do body work and wet sand and polish and paint. Paint Tamiya Smoke in the grill opening etc but not much for the other..I often wish I could but there would be a lot of plastic on the floor against the wall..Just no patience..Once sat in the model room for 6-7 hours wet sanding and polishing a 70 Chevelle..Turned out real good and had no bad times doing it..A few beers or glasses of Jack helped but it was fun...
  11. The Mustang is fabulous..The mention of the other mag is out of place on a competitors forum..Have some respect for Gregg and his crew..Nuff said on my part..
  12. If your looking for a grill/bumpers/rear facia bumper...Modelhaus has them..Got some for the 63 Dodge I got off the bay years ago....Fit perfectly and are very nicely cast..Chroming is perfect...
  13. White interior will make that car KILLER it will draw a crowd...
  14. Mike if your going to paint it be careful..While I use Meguiar's exclusivly on my 1:1 and models I think Scratch X 2.0 might have silicone in it..I don't know if it paintable like the tan bottles of their product..Good luck...
  15. People should know not to rush a restoration..It should keep going at a steady pace but to do things right the first time..The guy that did my car(he and I put it together) and I learned you don't do a good job in six months.."Do it right the first time or don't do it at all" is what I learned from him..That Road Runner looks pretty sweet and coming along very nicely...
  16. Looks like a 69 steering wheel on the runner.Notice how it fits on the column..Too much space between the wheel and column
  17. Tom, I've never heard the term fairy man before, just the other term..Tim Hortons decaf for me double milk, single sugar with a domed lid..Easier for drinking while driving..In some provinces in Canada it two points if you are eating or drinking while driving...No not alcholol bevereges..I'am talking coffee/pop/burgers etc...
  18. 10 in a row...Very nice job on your model..Like how you've radiused the wheel wells to like the real deal..The color is killer on..Very clean and yes, probably the best car The King ever drove..Sure was successful
  19. Very nice model..You know I never liked the man, but he sure knew how to wheel a racecar..I was shocked and saddened the day he got killed..He was a legend..and is missed by so many now, including me...
  20. Chris, I agree with you on the 6 cyl Charger being rare..Unfortunately not a big dollar car because of the "Tower of Power" Why people like the "E" bodies I don't know..Had a 70 Challenger with 340/Burnt Orange hounds tooth interior..Nice rare car now but a real rattle trap in those days..wish I owned it now though...
  21. Very nicely done..You've got some pretty snazzy Chrysler products there...In my opinion I think the 57 and later Imperials were move lavisly designed than either the Cadillac or Lincoln..I've seen 58 Imperial Crown two door hts at shows and WOW...What beauties...Your car is super clean and very well done...
  22. Those Barracudas Chev truck Imperial and 53 Ford in original box are real finds...How much glue did you have to fork out?
  23. I think it looks kind of cool..Wouldn't want to race it though..Doesn't look too safe at any speed...
