  1. I can't find the Gunze Sangyo for under $150 USD.
  2. Do you have a picture of the style of cobblestone you're looking for? This company makes metals and laminates for interiors, but I can't tell what scale the cobblestone is. I'm guessing the pop-up windows are close to actual size. Check #217, #218 and #221. http://www.cpsgarten...-200-Series.php Let me know what you come up with - believe it or not, I've had the same idea for years of using cobblestone surfaces for some of my classic builds, including the Bentley. One of my thoughts was to print out to scale the kind of pattern I wanted, tack it to a plastic sheet or a very thin layer of quick-set, fireable modeling clay, then start using a scribing tool. I used the clay process to help my daughter put adobe bricks on a scale hut for a school project and it looked great.
  3. No, Andy, I'm not implying any of that. But you said that kids can get anything if their parents are willing to buy it. Please read again what I said in reply to your post.
  4. Same with booze, heroin, weed, methamphetamines and any other POS you want to name if you have parents that are total losers. What's your point?
  5. This may have happened to some people, but as for me, I've never had a can run out of propellant before it runs out of paint. Just 2-3 short squirts is all it takes.
  6. Parts and maintenance manuals for different cars should help you. Check the Chilton's manuals, or particular shop manuals, some of which are available online. Searching in Google images is also helpful.
  7. When I do that process, only a tiny bit of paint comes out at first, then it's just air.
  8. Uhhh...certain substances are prohibited for minors (such as paint with toxic fumes) but allowed for adults in almost all countries - as you noted, in the US it's particularly alcohol (though not wine and beer in some European countries), and I hardly need to mention that there are many controlled or banned substances around the world that are intended to be preventative in nature. I don't quite get your point.
  9. But still another argument for turning the can upside down and giving a few hits of spray to clear the nozzle after a painting session. I found that tip here and it keeps my paint can nozzles in good shape.
  10. Anyway, back to the Mercedes coupe. Here's a good review of the kit showing all the parts. http://scaleplasticandrail.com/kaboom/index.php/all-other-subjects/all-things-civillian/59-car-kits/923-ben-review-revell-slr
  11. You could sand the plastic down from behind until the emblem is all that's left. Or someone who knows more about it than I do could show you how to make a mold of the Unimog emblem.
  12. I don't know how recent this info might be, but Model Rectifier Corporation (MRC) says on their website that they are now the marketers of Accurate Miniatures kits, but apparenlty only the 1/48 WWII airplanes. http://www.modelrectifier.com/all-brands/Accurate-Miniatures.asp
  13. In case Matt has gone to bed, I'm sure it's this one.
  14. Here's a badge. Is this what you need or do you need a chrome piece? Can you show a picture of what you're looking for? In any case, I'm sure you'll find something here... http://www.google.com/search?tbm=isch&hl=en&source=hp&biw=1362&bih=752&q=mercedes+star+logo&btnG=Search+Images&gbv=2&oq=mercedes+star+logo&aq=f&aqi=g1&aql=&gs_sm=s&gs_upl=2439l7936l0l10399l18l18l0l6l6l0l161l1202l5.7l12l0
  15. Of the 2 300 SLR Uhlenhaut coupes built, one had a blue interior and the other had a red interior. If you build the blue interior, this plaid pattern might help - it's totally authentic for the regular 300 SL Gullwing. Accurate scale would be 10-11 squares horizontally across the seat back.
  16. That's SERVICE! You got your order 3 weeks before you placed it!
  17. What paint did you use on the luxury version?
  18. Pardon me Christian, but don't you mean"braces?" As I understand it, "suspenders" in Britain refers to ladies' garter belts. Or maybe that's what you meant?
  19. WHAT IF there had never been "The Dukes of Hazzard" and we never had to suffer through so many posts on this forum related to it? You know, I have seen many, many builds on this forum that would be candidates for "Real or Model," but I've never seen a General Lee that would fit there. Does anyone have any favorite General Lee builds?
  20. As dougp mentioned in his original post, the guy with the big bucks is John Hendricks, the founder of the Discovery Channel, who paid that amount in 2005. Wonder what it would go for seven years later.
  21. PS: For those wanting to build this particular kit box stock, it's also referred to as the T41 Weinberger Cabriolet. These shots may lead somewhere. http://bit.ly/yi2m3U
  22. That's a substantially modified engine. What parts did you use? And you're right - anyone wanting to build this kit should get Volume 2 of Gerald Wingrove's Complete Car Modeller.
  23. Hmmm. Most of the pictures I see show Goodyears. Wheel sizes: T70 MK3b coupe 15x17 or 15x14 rear and 15x12 front T70 MK3b Spyder 15x12 or 15x14 rear and 15x9 or 15x8 front T70 MKIII 15x12 rear and 15x10 or 15x8 front
