  1. Thanks for posting the other Robin Hood kit.....I think I passed on it because it was just figures.....I like the coach in the other kit.
  2. Mail between USA and CA is a tough one. When I was doing ebay I sold stuff to folks in CA. And if you know Paypal you better have proof. The issue boils down to one customs office for USPS and CA Post. Items can sit there for weeks if they are busy. And with MBA's sitting in offices planning 'logistics' packages can travel thousands of miles out of there way in the name of 'logistics'. Even packages inside the USA can be routed strange ways. I had a package come from Indy......to columbus Oh....to Greeansboro NC....to Charlotte NC....to Greensboro NC and then to WV and me!!!
  3. Lindberg did some of the door handles in chrome....and Moebius has the wipers separate so you have a start. Wipers are a bigger issue than door handles on subjects that could become race cars!
  4. I got a set Sat at NNL EAST.....at first I was taken back by the price......after all my average price is $7......but when I got them they are WELL worth the price.....these decals set a new high in decal art....this from someone who has designed 100's of decals for many folks.
  5. I have the Disney Robin Hood kit. Picked it up for $1 at a hobby shop on closeout.....might even be worth that today!!!! There was another Robin Hood kit.....but can;t remember it right now.
  6. Here are more photos of Hudsons......I took these at the HET NATS last July in 110 degree weather!! Enjoy http://public.fotki.com/DaveVan51/2011-hudson-het-nats-okc/
  7. I have the old Revell History makers issue of the kit. It's huge and may never build it. A year ago you could sell them for $200 easy.......maybe I should have....but I did not think RM would ever re-issue this!!
  8. X-acto makes the best X-acto blades.......Best #11 type blades??? Testors/Model Master are very good. I got some other brand from Japan that were so sharp they cut too easy and I ended up in the ER and had to clean up a LOT of blood and still have a big scar.......go with the MM.
  9. Looking good so far.......I wish it was tooled off the MPC kit. While a decent kit the RM version missed it as far as capturing the correct grille/front end shape. I owned a 70 1/1 Mustang sportroof and the MPC caught it....the Monogram didn't.
  10. Nice work...I wonder over to the classics once in a while!
  11. I've known Dan since he raced Alfa's!! I hope we get to work more often.
  12. My son and I will attend and be set up next to Dave Burket Model King in the vendor room. We will roll in Friday so see ya then!! It's been 4 years since I last went....looking forward!
  13. Let's just say.....many good things down the road.
  14. The racing versions of the Moebius/MK Hudson kits are different than showroom stock kits. Yes...the wheels and tires are different. Aircraft type seat belts are added and the exhaust is side exit without mufflers. This is correct for 1952 and most all of 1953 as cars had to be 'stock'. Roll bars were not required for 'post' cars. The Moebius Chrysler 300 racing version has a roll hoop and rear seat delete.....but that started in late 1954-55.
  15. Come see us at NJ NNL this weekend. We will have prototype boxes and models to show. Thanks!!!
  16. I have no issue with getting a DEAL!!! About 15 years ago I found a hardware store in a really small mountain town in NC that had 30 model kits from 1962-1966. I bought them all at the $2 or so marked on them....exactly what the store owner wanted. But I am not making $$$$ doing it....and I don't start my TV show with a 'Telling American history on pick at a time' slogan. I still maintain that they skipped the 'picked - Value' thing because if they showed the difference it would be embarrassing and could affect future picks / shows. No one would trust them.....
  17. NOPE!! By this time NASCAR had allowed some mods to 'stock'. The Moebius 300 has a different interior, new rear firewall, new seat base and bracing, racing belts, different wheels and tires and new exhaust set up along with the Flock decals too.
  18. What I didn't like was at the end of the show when they do the 'Picked for....Value is...Profit is.....' Deal they did everything they picked that night EXCEPT the models which tells me even they were a bit embarrassed about what they paid that day.....I think someone on staff knew the value and wanted them himself. Thus it was just passed over. More power to them if they sleep well after that.....after all it's not a deal between two guys but a old guy and a multi-million dollar TV show.
  19. The show is scripted to an extent. When the show came to WV my son saw the hosts at the Charleston airport. They fly in and their truck is waiting for them....then they fly out. Places are scouted before hand too. I did see Mike Wolf buy a Weird-o build up for $25 last night....guess he didn't know you can get them at Big Lots new for $5!!!! But after they paid $300 for the big collection of mint 1962 AMT kits.....a little justice.
  20. Got my set off ebay for $5 10 sizes all small then 1/32.
  21. Love them IMSA 'Stangs!!! Very nice work!
  22. Limited edition of 3000 kits.....we will send info soon to dealers.....they will take pre-orders. Thanks
  23. Coming soon from the great folks at Model King and Moebius Models is another great stock car legend racer!! We are finalizing the decals and boxart for the Marshall Teague 1953 Hudson Hornet. Due later this year, as soon as we have a firm ETA we will post the info. The painting for this box was done by noted automotive artist Dan McCrary. The decal art and box graphics were done by myself. I will post decals and built prototype model as soon as they are complete. PS....stay tuned.....we have more news soon!!! Thanks!!
  24. I have built most of these Hasegawa '66' curbside American cars. I built the Caddy years ago and thought it was decent for what it was. I thought the Pontiac would make a neat low rider/mild custom. The kit has more flaws than the others of this series. But it was to test some Dupli-color Strawberry Red I got on sale more than anything else!!! I did add some Pegasus whells and lowered the car by not using the axle blocks. Some foil and that's about it. Too bad there are not more cars in the series and the are just a little better kits. I like the simple good looking build. OK for a days work.....I'll just put it on a high shelf!!! Thanks
