  1. Carl , I don't go here often . BTW , green is my favorite color .. lol .. You are a wizard , Cranking out such quality work on a regular basis .. I appreciatwe this one too .. "Where's the keys ?" Thanx ..
  2. This build is my only surviving Model Car from my first collection from 1958 - 1978 . It is a reproduction of one I saw on display and took Color Pictures of back in the early '60's . Pic and Collection both are History . Enjoy ; The head pic shows the TOW Out this build has acquired since it was finished circa 1975 or so . This is why I prefer Metal Ax-led kits . send me all the ones you reject please .. Thanx ..

    MB W 136

So , another Competition Car from me . MR factory Stock . Adolf Himself demanded MB make this Race dominating Car . IIRC , the Car outran the Tires and shredded all 4 in short order . Making Pit Stops more frequent . Still , won many races as these regularly obtained record setting speeds of 195 MPH in the mid to late 30's . Winning with these stopped due to WWII . The Silber Arron's (Silver Arrows) did have a similar V/12 only in a larger Version Version . Although Located behind the Driver still the Silber Arron a handful to operate . Enjoy .. I NEVER LEAVE A MODEL ON THE DISPLAY , just this one .. lol .. Think Messerschmidt BF 109 & BF 110 . Inverted V/12 MB Powerplants . These Engines were developed in these cars . Thanx ..
  4. I am sure happy I found this WIP . The details you have explained and the Help you've given me are invaluable as in priceless . I am trying to build one with the quality as you have here . What Paint did you use please . My access to color charts are hazy to say the least older than the late 20's and through 1938 V/8's and Model B ... The Model A Refinish Manual is not as complete as I would like . Yes , Henry was proud of his cars . More so during after 1913 with success with the Moving Assembly Line meeting and exceeding his expectations . You should be proud of this build . I know you see the Flaws .. I don't .. lol .. Thanx ..
  5. I am seeking information about how to identify Visual Changes of Lizzies MY by MY . . I have a copy of ;' Floyd Clymer's Ford Model T from 1908 - 1927 . It is not as complete as I require . Specifically the first 7 years . How many of these were "red Firewalled" or "red dash" equipped . The Spare location did hop around . The Acetylene Generator did move , change shape ect .. I see the Possibility to make the entire String of Lizzies . Yes , I am this retentive . Art Anderson , I've tried to contact you directly . This is impossible as you do not take messages . Anyone have any other sources I may look at ? I had access to a Science and Industry Book on Model T's when I lived in Youngstown , Ohio at the Main Library . That was then .. 25 years ago .
  6. So , let me ASSUME all of us like the same stuff . I've been sitting here thinking how much I want to build yet another Junkie Motors Death Trap ; Nova , Camero Corvair (cadaver) . The ONE Leaf Spring per side was such a penny pinching success . Never (LOL) did one leaf spring per side fail and cause a catastrophe with fatal results . Then the upgrade on the Novas to side track (or dogtrack) with multi-leaf rear springs with the super soft centering bolts . Jusy like the SBC Camshafts . Just like the Killer Rollover Corvairs did not cause any Fatalities (Ernie Kovach , sorry) . I just have to say that seeing all of the badmouthing about : AMC , Packard and Studebaker , Tucker . I owned two AMC Javelins . I did also own ; never a moment of not needing repair Chevrolets . The AMC I regret parting with . The Chevrolets I regret ever owning / forced to work on . This aside why should Mobvius ignore the Javelins from '71-'74 . The differences being , Each of the '71 , '72 had different Grill taillight treatment . The '73/'74 were the same . The AMX line was the same . The Front Grill Assm was the same all 4 MY's . The rear taillights fro the '71 , '72 MY shared the Javelin taillight treatment . The '73/'74 AMX had the same taillight treatment as the Javelin . The ram Air Hood worked better than Contemporary Junkie Motors imitation . The Spoiler on the rear and ram Air hood were AMX equipment . In fact the AMX was advertised , sold and titled as Javelin AMX 's . So , Mobuis should overlook 8 Versions from one Tooling because ????????????????????? I am working on all 8 for my collection for string of AMC Pony Cars which now and always always be more complete than my string of homicidal cars . Would I buy 8 more Javelin / Javelin AMX rather than another Junkie Motors .. You betchee .. Studebaker , Packard , Nash , Hudson , Willies , Crosley , Cunningham , Kaiser , Stutz , Mercer , even a Porter I would buy and build before another homicidal model car . In fact , May I suggest two new lines of model car kits . Car of the year ; Motor Trend year by year . The second Killer cars . The Crossovers not be duplicated in both of these series . Thanx ..
  7. I agree with Art . I did heat the can in a Pan with water . It was heated better than on the Furnace Duct . Directly on the stove and open flame creates explosion . The Freon Escaping past the Flakes stuck in the Nozzle cooled the top of the can off quickly . The rest you know . Thanx Art ..
  8. I will add to this discussion . In the '70's when Pactra introduced the Jade Metallic Flake Paint I jumped at it . I like green the best . This failure was my last attempt to build a non - Factory Stock . I took the can Outside in colder weather to apply a Super Custom Finish . 36 degrees IIRC outside to paint this Project . I had the can sitting on the Furnace Duct for an hour at least . Entered the 'Paint Zone" .. ready .. aim .. NO SPRAY . I remembered about the recent tip of hot water .. On the Stove for a warm up .. to the 'Paint Zone' .. no spray . Third time .. NO SPRAY . More Heat , can hot and into the "Paint Zone" for attempt #4 . Push the Nozzle and BOOM ! The Top of the cam released expelling the Contents . On my face - project - surrounding Environment spoiling all three . Two weeks before the paint was cleaned up . This was ion the Days before Paint Removal Procedures for Model car Builders .. I did not use Pactra Flakey paint again . The Metallic Chunks were too large for the Nozzle passageway . Physics 101 : Hot things get hotter before cooling off . The Cold Air introduced at the Nozzle contracted the top of the can . Pressure inside the Can did what it was intended to do . I swirl , shake and have used a Mini Shaker for Bottled paints since 2001 . Great tool foe MCW Paint . I do not have a shaker large enough for Paint Cans .. Thanx ..
  9. Dunbno ?? Waiting for Friday .. Thanx ..
  10. As an offending clot making the same mistake in the past . I forgive you . I got excited knowing what is is and gave it away or inadvertently gave hints . This is why I remain mostly silent on ID this Car . Thanx ..
  11. Lee and all others . MCW , Dave Dodge offers a FoMoCo 6 as well as Kitrchen Resins , Ken kitchen . One of these guys also offers a Falcon / Mustang / Maverick I 6 too . Or is is R&MoM . Thanx .. I have all three and all are well done ..
  12. The '41 was an AMM Model Conversion . Thank you Art . I have one Posted in my PB account . I built this in the '90's . Not for sale or trade . The '46/'48 are not totally awful . I did get 4 resin Stock V/12's . The Bodies require patience , time and Putty to fix . For the Pro[per Steering wheel , contact Modelhaus for the Tucker (still in their lineup) steering wheel . Preston Tucker Sourced the Steering Wheels from FoMOCO . Continental Steering Wheels . Relocate the Location of the Colum as the kit misses the mark . Floorboard removal is imperative for both an Engine Swap and relocating the Exhaust to the other side from the research I've done . Some interior work is needed to clean up the clumsiness . Minor Detail between the three MY's . I have all three WIP's waiting : Verification of some Details , Verification of Details , Two sets of Revelle '40 Ford Stock Wheels , Tires and Wide Wall inserts . Anyone have these for trade ?? The Lindbergh Kit wheels I still have to figure out a use for . This or any other model WILL NOT WEAR THESE as is . I remember a '42 Continental Blackout Convertible a Cousin owned Post War . I am trying to Verify this as a Production and not Custom Built or Collision Rebuild that he owned . This is the 4 th V/12 I have is intended for . I remember the weird inside hardware . Not Chromes Steel as you see in a Car . Defiantly something else ?? Any questions .. PM me .. Thanx ..
  13. Hey ! no Hints ! I dunno .. Thanx ..
  14. Here I am .. it is still me .. I changed IP again . The 4th time since I signed up in 2007 . The IP changes for three of these was since MAY this year . I was rejected as a Possible Scammer . I am glad to see this in place and used . It is a bread to re-start . Especially when I did not Spell dimaxion wrong in my haste .. AURGHHHHhhhhhh ! Would my old friends befriend me again please ? Thanx ..
  15. Update .. for this kit , Kevin now has the correct NON-Black tires for the Purist like me . Black Tires were not invented nor available until 1914 from the research I've done . Thanx ..
  16. I only have the fortune of owning one of his products . I would buy more , cash flow prevents this from happening . I am happy with my one and only ; Needs some TLC to gett to this stage .. The body process is Slush Cast . I just painted the windows black . Thanx ..
  17. I will now post the rear View of the '61 MY Lark . Then the F & R View of the '60 MY . '61 Lark '60 Lark '60 Lark I did a comparison of them JoHan '62 Lark i built into a Pace Car Replica . The Dash layout , upohlestry pattern , and Dash Pad are not the same as Dave's Lark Guts . MY does indeed mean M(odel) Y(ear) .. Thanx ..
  18. Whyn do my eyes feel like the "Welder's Flash" I received decades ago . All I wantwed to do is see the Car ?? I dunno this one either .. Thanx ..
  19. This is the '60 MCW Lark HT . I modified it to represent a '61 MY . It took some hard digging to find this color combination . It is a Tribute Build of the 1:1 I worked on way back in time . Modelhaus has the parts to do the MY Change . It does come as a '60 MY Lark . Very little work was needed to finish this replica . Not difficult resins to work with .. Thanx ..
  20. I am in for ; '56 - '57 - '58 Plymouth Fury's . The missing Letter series Chrysler 300's . D - E - F - G - (H) - J - K - L . MY's ; '58 - '59 - '60 ' '61 - (might as well do the 62 MY also) - '63 - '64 - '65 all .. Thanx ..
  21. A MCW & R&MoM resin engins are readily available making these the best choice IMHO . Change Air Cleaner / Silencer , add the Heat Stove and air pump for proper emissions for the '70 MY . A Picture fopr referwence would be helpful . Thanx ..
  22. I have my reasons to Vote Model .. Thanx ..
  23. As a Point of interest and detail . These units you refer to as "add on units" are just that . You only have the capability to re-cycle Air from the interior . This is the same as the MAX Air Setting . Before the advent of "the Universal all you Illiterate Dummies can understand this nomenclature . Example : The picture of a running shower head meaning this is the Headlight Control Switch . Ambient Outside Air is drawn through the Plenum Chamber as is Heater Air . Modern HVAC uses the same methods / chamber for all functions . The Packard Trunk Mounted Units in 1950's , among the other Fine Cars Trunk Units , drew Fresh Air from the trunk itself . Otherwise an add on Vent in the Quarter Panels unique to A/C Equipped Cars . Thanx ..
  24. While under the list of missed opportunities : I just missed the '50 Buick 4 dr. Sedan offered in the Early days of resin . After long term saving I had the money and sent the caster the MO . BTW it arrived the week after he quit casting this one .Thanx ..
  25. I'll also add to the kudos on this Casting . Excellent . I am so underwhelmed when I compare this to an Early Resin Kit . I am glad to experience both . "they just don't make 'em like they usta !" I prefer in the day now stuff thanx ..
