  1. IIRC , you have a window to reclaim your money back on Pay Pal . It is a short time . Contact them by phone for quickest response , I did .. Thanx ..
  2. I find this an interesting Question . IIRC in this Site some one posted about Gm V/12's . I do have copies of how GM had no problem sorting out the odd V/S even fire in the '60's as they made a V/12 using two GMC V/6's to make these on a small scale of limited use in a Limited Market . Through out thwe World all other Vehicle Makers had No problem making V 8 10 12 16 in the Thirties or V 6 8 10 12 16 recently . So here comes GM and the world renown Bean Counters netting 16 Generations of V/6's later this is (still) a problem . Yet , 6 Inline is the smoothest Powerplant ever devised . I think a functioning V/12 GM would be something to see . The Escalade V/16 , was not a "Pushmobile Show Car" IIRC . It ran under it's Own Power . Thanx ..
  3. It is the Same as the NASCAR Manifold from the Factory . Aftermarket Speed Equipment is not the same . Thanx ..
  4. The Original was a Two door Bonneville Hardtop or Convertible . Modelhaus has recast this Body as a 4 door in Resin . What model (Bonneville or Star Cheif ?) this Pontiac depicts . I just know I've seen it on their display at a Toledo Show . As far as fitting the Trumpeter , I am at a loss . Thanx ..
  5. I am sad Ross is gone . He will be missed . I have a question about the '68 Barracuda 360 V/8 with the specific '68 Water Pump . Please correct me if I am wrong . SB MoPars are a bit of confusion for me . It is my understanding , 1967 was the inaugural 340 . It had the Distributor located in the back as the 318 . It was a new Engine series not from the BB Engine 318 , but a enlargement of the 273 V/8 . Which was derived from the 318 Light weight of 1965 , while not Poly Head design . It was a new light weight , dimensionally smaller than the 318 BB . The 6 bbl 340 was introduced in the '79 MY . The 360 was an Engine developed for Smog in the '70's . IIRC , the '73 MY it was introduced . Possibly 1972 . The location of the distributor was the front . Would someone correct my confusion as something just does not add up . Thanx .
  6. What was the issue number for the second How TO please ? Thanx ..
  7. If I only knew what this is ? I must say being I've never seen this word ..
  8. Thank you Howard . My condolences to his Family and may God Bless and keep them through this Sorrow and Loss . I have his engines also . I was going to use them on Projects . Now I think I'll place them on Stands in my Collection . Thanx ..
  9. Joseph ; Yes , I see you were on this Model Site here this AM at 7:57 . I am the offended party . You've failed to mention how during this miserable trade , started in October , your shortcomings complicated things . . Yes , I made a mistake and sent your parts to someone else . You were quick to point the error of my ways . You wanted to have your parts NOW . All three of us Agreed to send the other parties the corrected parts . The other trader did immediately sent yuou yours . His grandmother was reimbursed as we all agreed . As would your grandmother have been reimbursed . You got yours .. he , the other Trader and innocent party DID NOT . He is still lacking as am I . This is a trade gone BAD . Two Victims and you Bow Out ? Claiming to worry about Legal Consequences ? All the while wanting to trade via Personal Email ? Really , let us see how long this takes you to fix this . I do understand Illness as a matter of fact . How about my Daily 1/4 Mile Hikes with my Walker to our Postal Box to find the package you promise to have sent for me to find this Posting here ? The Fact you are creating a BAD Trader Reputation by these actions is a concept lost to you . . Trading with you .. NO THANKS
  10. I did not know the Wagon is out . This release is quaint to say the least . A couple of facts about the Trabbies for those hanging on with Baited Breath for this Information ; The Actung Babby U2 Tour lighting Platforms now reside in the Cleveland , Ohio Rock and Roll Museum and have been there since 1998 (?) . When the European Countryside was filled with non - disposable dead and unwanted Trabbies there was a major problem . Duraplast meant inability to burn , re-use the Body parts . Grinding these up and using during Snow "Events" still were unsatisfactory as the remnants still did not return to the Environment safely . So , some Free World Scientists developed a bacteria to consume this Duraplast . The World now continues with one more Communist problem solved . Decades ago a video was available on the Internet . It was made while the Vehicle was still in Production . I've lost the Information of how and where to see this . Anyone out there willing to share this please ? Thanx ..
  11. It looks scary , real scary to ride / drive . I vote Model . Thanx ..
  12. Wowser , again for me ; one in a row . Is this my second or third correct ID ? I dunno , I'm just enjoying this ......... Thanx Harry
  13. May I add ; '57 - '59 Rancheros from the string of (Missing Links of) the Chrysler 300 Letter Series Cars ; '58 MY D , '59 MY E , '60 MY F , '61 MY G , '62 MY H , '63 MY J , '64 MY K and the '65 MY L . I would buy one of these each . Studebaker Hawks ; '57 - '62 MY , I would buy one for each year . Studebaker ; '41 President , '56 -7 - 8 Presidents . The greatest last years of Packard's ; Carrabien '53 - '56 . AMC ; Javelins of the '71 - '74 Generation , not the javelin AMX as the JoHan Kits/Promos . All of the Javelin and AMX from '68 - '70 MY . Rambler '56 Wagon and Sedan / HT . The last of Hudson's and Nash's Production . '57 MY Rambler Rebel , '60 American , '65 & '66 Marlin , Hornets , Gremlins , Pacers , and the Show Car Typhoon . I've suggested this previously ; Motor Trend Car of the Year until Imports got the nod . Hudson Jets , Henry J (Chitwood Tournament of Thrills) and the Allstate , Nash Metropolitan , Willys compact 50's Car (the name escapes me) . Post War Willys Jeepster . All the Rods and Race Cars Revelle has only offered as hacked for Competition and not Factory Stock . Factory Stock versions I will buy . The Dimaxion Automobile , Stout and Scarab would be nice to have . Pierce Silver Arrow . I have more on the wish list .. that's all for now .
  14. I held off my little Jingle from the Early Days of Television . Sang to a tune I am unable to recall if it is like anything else ; Soaky soaks you clean , It is really keen . And When the thing is Empty - It's a Toy , such a Joy ! And when the thing is Empty - It's a Joy , such a Toy ! I did save this until the Quiz was over . I do believe a Advertisement for Bubble Bath for kids might be a clue .. lol .. Did I say this makes any sense ? This is the first thought to pop into my head seeing this at first Impression .. lol .. Thanx Harry ..
  15. A most excellent build . I remember the days in '54-'56 on the Dining Room Table with our Father as we were guided on a Model Kit build .. #1 , wowser . This kit was quite a Huggy Bear to build as it is the only one of the Batmobiles I've actually finished from an Injection Styrene Kit . Tell the Lad ; "Good Work and keep the good work up" , please from me .. Thanx ..
  16. If you cannot sit in it , sit on it .. I have a jingle to say about this one .. I'll refrain until it is over .. I am clueless this week .. no , don't say it please .. lol .. Thanx ..
  17. It says on the passenger side window ; "Do not wash , Test Dirt" .. I just miss , but I still look . Thank you Harry . Thanx ..
  18. AMT did not have the prior to Production for many Kits for the '68 MY . The Impala is a good example of one of them . It was similar to a bash of a '67 & '68 . No back window . The Camero / Firebird were close but no Cigar . MPC got the nod instead of AMT . The MPC kit was accurate . The '65 - '69 MY Corvairs did not change much . As AMT lacked the forward information , this kit was produced . GM Bean Counters had declared the only changes to the Corvair were restricted to updates to keep it inline with the Regulations for (then new Government) MY Mandates . The Corvair would get the Axe when Costs were amortized . This decision was made in the Summer of '65 and not publicized outside the Corporation . Most dealers did not know this especially the Independent Dealers . Look at the Option list over the ensuing years and how it shrank . Corvair RPO's became impossible to obtain . When this point was achieved in 1969 , these were deleted . All on order with Customers waiting did without or took what was in the Inventory period . The Dealerships were given 6 weeks to return all parts or eat the Cost . Anyone having one being repaired and the parts suddenly not available .. were just out of luck . The general did it it's MO . Offered large discounts and Huge Trade in Value . The Dealership I worked in at that time had one in the Body Shop . When this came to pass , the Customer took the Sucker Bait . The Wrecked Corvair was scrapped . Tha '60 MY Corvair had not only a Gasoline Heater . It was available with the Hot Air from the manifolds as did the VW . All later models had the Heat Box only . Both worked poorly until around the '63 MY . I did get the opportunity to fix both types . My '60 had the non-functional Gasoline . While trying to diagnose the problem , I had wished for the HOT BOX . A changeover was next to impossible BTW . I have a Slush Cast Corvan . It is workable , not shake - remove contents and there is a build . PM me for contact information . I am not aware if he is or is not still selling these . I do not think it is Fair to give free advertisement here on the site . Only game in town as far as I know . I did contact Modelhaus about a '6O MY Coupe . I have the available to me necessary parts to make one for a Master . Rampsides were only limited production due to slow consumer response . Not many people wanted one for many reasons related to Corvairs . Many customers walked away from the first Chevy Vans for the same reasons . Sitting on the Driver's seat and turning the key to view Corvair Idiot Lights was such a turn off . Many ran away actually .. I witnessed this on a Used Unit . Gotta Love the Bean Counters . I do collect Corvairs . I just don't want to be near a 1:1 . My neighbor of recant years past bought one . I did "admire it from afar" as I am a survivor of a Killer Corvair . BTW , keeping the tire pressure at 15 # in the rear did not negate the danger . Thanx ..
  19. It is funny how History twists things . Corvair Stories just continue to deflect the truth . The Rear Suspension Design was '; BANNED BY EVERY SANCTIONED COMPETITION ORGANIZATION WORLDWIDE DUE TO INSTABILITY WHEN DIVERTING FROM A STRAIGHT AHEAD DIRECTION .,. PERIOD . This came to pass in 1953 . The Corvair came equipped with this Death Trap Design to save the Corp .50 per car . So what's the cost of a few deaths . None unless it is one of your loved ones . Does anyone else remember Ernie Kovacs ? In the 1964 MY , the Safer design the Engineers wanted in the first place was made the only Production process for these units . The comments still continue today how safe these were to drive . I owned a 1960 in 1966 . I would not sit in a Parked and disabled one today . Especially one making any other attitude than straight ahead . Ralph Nadir did not hate the Corvair . Nor hate GM as a matter of fact . He just had a walk on Easy Street pointing out how dangerous the Cars were at that time citing GM blunders . Pnrdl's anyone instead of PRNDL's ? Unbelievably Gm was the best at producing Cars that would fail and kill people . Just like Today this is inarguable . Also , Ralph did own a Late Model '55 Chevy . He drove it for less than a month and sold it . The dangers of this Vehicle scared him that he spent the rest of his life in the back seats while others drove . So , let us not honor a significant piece of Automotive History by giving it the proper recognition it does deserve . If just to honor the Victims that were killed due to this wholesale recklessness upon consumers . I am proud to have Corvairs in my Collection . I don't want a 1"1 near me .. Thanx ..
  20. Yes , these are the same type as in the Studebaker kit . An alternative would be making these from Solder or wire one by one . I have these from the Stud kits . PM me , we can trade .. Thanx ..
  21. If someone is looking for Ideas .. WIP's I have are ; '42 Blackout Continental Convertible , '46-'48 Continental Convertibles . Yes , that's right from the Lindbergh / Pyro kits . A decent Engine is available . Wheels are a Major Stumbling Block . Many other modifications are required . I've done one in my first Collection . Tucker Steering wheels can be sourced from Modelhaus . Preston Tucker bought Contemporary Continental Steering Wheels from FoMoCo . '55 MY was a conversion R&R kit . '56 MY was a R&R conversion kit . '57 MY a new Modelhaus kit . I have the Hendrix Mfg kit . It needs much as it is a conversion . The Modelhaus kit s complete . The Continental MK II was an F&F kit . Ed Fluck III does not have the molds . I see someone out there in Casting Land has one kit in the planning stages . Yes , I do factory Stock Builds . If I am able to post here again , I would show my built string from '58-'68 . Thanx ..
  22. I have two questions for this build off . One , does it have to be a new build ? I will not be able to build until next year sometime as we are moving across what is left of our Nation . I am now and will be in Flux and will remain . Second question ; is factory Stock appropriate ? This build is on the way .. I've seen a very few of this genera here . My one build was tossed off a site . It fit the parameters of the site . It was judged not hacked up enough to be on the Site . I have no way of posting pics from my Computer .. This is a problem for me .. any hints as to where I can go to post from my Camera ? Thanx ..
  23. I will add Our Condolences here . I did buy some of the superb pieces made / sold . E mails were a pleasure as was dealing with him . God Bless his Loved ones left behind .. Thanx ..
  24. I agree with much said here . Especially with the idea many uninformed have no idea . New to the car Industry , Making Laws , Judgements how the Manufacturing / Sales works simply does not work . Being clueless of and by this business is dangerous for so much such a Potentially Dangerous Machine yet is Reality . I have noted ad-nausea the problems GM made for themselves with the Business Motto and MO they adhere to . Unfortunately the other makers imitate GM .Policy : "When things go South with our products ; offer insane Trade Values on another GM car . Perhaps the ***** will be happy for awhile " Hide defects from the Buyers is a standard Car Business Practice form beginning to end . Bob Tail '39 Buicks , PNRDL gear selectors , Corvair , Pontiac Tempest , Buick V/6's (did they get it right yet?) Vegas , Citations , are just some off the top of my head . Die hard GM fans IMHO are aptly named . This Corp may have been the Best Selling at some time in US History . So , all others copied to Compete . The Independents did not so much as they realized they had to do a Better Product to survive . Art said it all with his statement ; "Until the Bean Counters got a hold of it " to Paraphrase . I've read all the Industry information for close to 60 Years I've been able to read of my accumulated 65 Years . This is every thing I saw in print . My Father read some of this to me before I could read and totally comprehend . I remember the Tucker ads he had and he took me to where the Dealership was in my very early years .. It closed before I was born , I was on the Property as a family connection of some sort was shared with it . BTW , It was the same Building as the New Stand Alone Edsel Dealership . So , we went there again this time when I could see the New Cars . Some interesting readings are interviews , Biography , Epilogs of Failed Car Makers - especially Studebaker ;'Less than they Promised" . The piece expaling how the Stovebolt and SBC saved the day supplying Cheaper Power plants . Resulting in killing any residual Customer Loyalty with increasing Warranty Claims 6 fold .Most of my working career was in the Automotive Industries . At this point all I can say is what I head the most around GM on every level . "MR Peckerwood will continue to buy our stuff (putting it politey) . He will be happy to trade his problem unit for another one of ours as long as we get him Financed ." Before I continue with my rant .. Thanx ..
