  1. Is the Body unmolested for factory Stock Builders ? It looks good to me .. Thanx ..
  2. Excellent rescue . I am partial to Factory Stock and Tribute Builds . I can relate to using Oil paint by Number to build a Model . My first kit i bought with my own Money was a Premier '60 Falcon . Paint , the same Earl Schieb as you also admit to . lol .. Thanx ..
  3. My Charger had an Elderbrock Tarantula High Rise .. Thanx ..
  4. My first Car was an EnFo Anglia , the New 106 , 1960 . I at least had the right make and Country of Origin Thanx ..
  5. I had one on my "Souped up tres ocho tres" '69 Charger . The previous owner , my friend now as then , did some modifications to give it some UMPH . 425 HP at the Tires on a Chassis Dyno . One of these in round configuration fit under the Hood . An open Air Element was TOOOO Tallll . Thus explaining a reason for "Everyday Traffic" usage . Thanx ..
  6. I thank you for the Pics . I still will be over - sized for F 70X14 IMHO . The '64('65) - 68 Mustangs , '67-'68 Camaros , '67-'68 Firebirds , Barracudas , Darts , GTO , 442 , GS , Javelin , AMX , from '64 - '68 had F 70X14 Standard in Red (excluding '76 MoPars) Line Tires . Some of these had E 70X14 Tires in Wide Oval Performance Rubber . These will still look Chipmunk Cheeked with even G 70X14 let along G 70X15 . I apprecaite this and .... Tahnx ..
  7. I was a Victim of the Moon Identity . Windshield ?? lol .. Thanx ..
  8. I agree , Modelhaus makes the Best Red Lines . They are way to big for the FX70/14 that came on the first Muscle Cars ; AMC '65-69 , MoPar '65-69 , FoMoCO '65-'69 , Generally More '65-69 . Are the RMoM smaller Tires ? Thanx ..
  9. Ray at R&R did make some money from the '69 Chrysler 300 . I will buy this to make the Hurst Version myself .. Thanx ..
  10. Are you saying it would be easier to cast ; FoMoCO ; '60-'69 MY , Edsel '59 & '60 MY , Chevy '59-'70 MY and all the General's items , MoPar '59 - '73 MY ? What will this cost ?? Thanx ..
  11. Was not the XXSS the Prototype before the D Type ? A production Car was being considered in this design . It crashed in testing . The decision was made to produce the D Type for Racing to fix some issues . The E Type developed form the D for "civilian use" . The wreckage was restored in the '70's . I am confused why replicas of it ? Thanx ..
  12. The last I've seen regarding the Aurora Molds was in the '80's . The Aurora Maserati 3500 , Ferrari 250 GTO , and Austin Martin DB 4 re-released by Monogram . Aurora Dies also sit on the Bottom of Lake Erie IIRC . A Freighter sank on it's way from Buffalo , NY to Chicago , Il . . Destination Monogram to re-release more Aurora Kits . It is also my understanding since the Revelle / Monogram merger further progress was halted on the Aurora Dies . If anyone has an update , I too would like an update .... Thanx ..
  13. Let me see , I buy anything AMC , Studebaker , Pierce Arrow , Packard , Hudson , Nash (all independents) MoPar , FoMoCO , I don't have . Plus everything else any manufacturer produced . Veteran , Pioneer , Antique , Classic seem to be dead Dodo's . I would buy a Mercer Raceabout from Brass Era prior to Black Rubber Tires in 1/25 scale to compliment the Stutz Bearcat . One before 1914 BTW . I know this won't happen . I am able to get more specific with some I would buy other than the many I've listed here since 200 (?) , if need be .. Thanx ..
  14. I tend to agree with the Separate Lamps in clear . I have 400 + built that I'm in no way financially able to replace all the Grilles / Headlamps . There is now way I would expect you to cast all of these long ago OOP replacement parts . How long do you plan to live ? Not even considering the WIPS , opened , stashed and Archived on the "To DO Pile Someday" . I could be tempted to add these features to the latter categories . Those not yet processed to fruition . 1:1 you have 7" & 9" . Question is then , how many different sizes will you have to cast ? My 2 cents . Thanx ..
  15. Me thinks you need an AMT Grille Kit . In it is a 54 Chevy grille w/ separate Teeth plus much more . PM me , I have a spare IIRC I'll trade off . Thanx ..
  16. Federal Mandated Headrests for all '69 MY Vehicles sold in USA . During the '68 MY all Cars had the Option for Headrests . My 2 cents .. Thanx ..
  17. hi Jon & Welcome . I am glad to see you here . God Bless .. Happy Building .. John JR. Alias here and many other Model Car sites as Dimaxion ..
  18. Before WWII , Automakers were experimenting with different shapes for Headlights . '38 Willies , '39 Plymouths and the rest of the MoPar line had similar headlights . The '39 / '39 Graham Sharknose had similar also . AS did a Few others Cars in the late '30's & Early '40's . It is possible this is what you are thinking of is this shape on this Vehicle ? During the WWII Era the WPB (War Production Board) had troubles making replacement lamps to keep these supplied for Useable Vehicles for the Duration . The Sealed Beams were standard in the '40 MY . Post War , the DOT prevented non - round standard sized Headlights entering into Automobiles sold and used in the US . In the Early DOT '60's made Covered Headlight illegal . These were becoming popular Worldwide . It was DOT & individual State Regulations the Car Makers had to appease to add 4 Sealed Beams to the Car Lines in 1958 . The '57 MY year had the Auto Makers produce both 4 Headlight Systems and Two Headlight Sytems at the same time on the same Model . For the '75 MY DOT had approved the Rectangular shape at the request of GM . Many decades of Requests . Thanx ..
  19. I will respond . Ive built 2 and have am third WIP . The first was the '57 Dodge . It is Rough and matched my skills in the '80's when I bought it . I had a 7 year gap outside the Hobby . I will not fix this as it has nostalgic attachments for me . It is a poor example of my First Car I purchased with my own money . It so matches my 1:1 Purchase .. poor .. The second is the '80's Bustle Back Caddy Seville . I got it from a friend . It was a gift as he knew I would be able to build it after the body was broken into 6 Parts . Story was ; "Fell on the floor , sat upon by mistake , crushed by a Pachyderm ........ yeah , that's the ticket" . I manged to fix what ailed it . Instead of my having some parts the next day , he sent me the interior 5 or so years later . I did paint it two tone shades of Metallic Browns . Same color combos offered on contemporary Chevettes . I did make Glass for it . The third is a Mark VIII . It too is a replica of one I owned . I will take all of your castoff TKM's . PM me and see if we are able to trade .. LTWIP's don't intimidate me . Long Tern Works In Progress are the nature of my builds as a fact generally . I disd get these builds Posted on a Model Car Site . Check them out . These fit well in my collection . Just not the Best ..
  20. Model ! Oops , I thought for a moment I had a 50/50 Chance of getting this one right .. Thanx ..
  21. I just know the Car (?) on the left is the World Infamous Trabant . I did not have a clue . Disney Character was my guess . Thanx ..
  22. I want to thank you all for this discussion . He listed some items I want .. I think I changed my mind . So , will not ship until you close the dispute ? Forward this Email to Pay Pal .. PLEASE . My everso diminishing faith and trust in fellowman Thank you ..
  23. It just befuddles me . So many of these posts here defend incompetence . I , have been involved in this Hobby since 1958 . I took a couple of step asides . While I hung onto what I had during '70 & '71. At this time I wondered away into another Scale Model Pursuit . Back at it in '72 . In '79 I was talked into giving up my Lifelong Hobby . I then sold out . Until 1984 I was out . This Country made the Best Model Kits on the Planet . So , Lensley happened . The other makers followed their lead . Good Enough ............ derigor of the Day . Then the Japanese entered our Market and did excellent . Remember the Electric Motored Kits . Remember the thin Model Kits . Remember the Bonus Pen and Pencil Desk top holders immediately after raising the Kit Prices into the Stratosphere ? Due to PLASTIC COST INCREASE was the Song they sang . Why do I suspect the most expensive component of a kit continues to be the BOX ?? So , IMHO , here we are again . Ukraine delivers beautiful Models . Mobious delivers beautiful models . Revelle seems to want to do good enough ? Will they change the flaws ? Does anyone know what dealing with the Chinese to get and take advantage of "Cheap Labor" ? The History of Revelle is to fix things . Our complaints , from the Customers are heard . Good Enough is not good enough . My 2 cents ... Thanx .. Anyone want a '69 Corvette 429 kit ?
