  1. Beware , there are the Hagawasi run of '66 GM's out there . marked 1/24 on the Box . Re-pops of MPC Slot Cars . '66 Impala (actual '65 MY) , '66 Bonniville , '66 Calais . All had the same interior bucket . Dash decals made the different Cars . These interiors suck to say the least . Thanx ..
  2. MPC did also package a '76 Corvette Convertible kit . I have the remains of this "phantom" . For those of you not there in the day , The Corps would send planned designs , Model Names , and all the other information for a New MY Vehicle . In Sept . it seems . Right after the Introduction of a new MY . Unfortunately , this advance information was just that . Too advanced . Perfect Example : 1961 DeSoto . ! 1960 Edsel ! I can go on .... This practice made more accurate Model Cars for Dealer Promos . The kit cash belonged to the Kit Makers . This practice did two things ; Lowered Costs to Dealers for the Scale Cars . Made total accuracy impossible . The good always comes along with the bad . 1972 Cornet ; "the Duster (and Dart Sport) were available with the "E58" , 220hp 360 ! The real deal was the true dual exhaust , sans catalytic converters !" Was this an Off Road Use , Competition Only ? The Mandate is all 1975 MY Vehicles sold in the U.S.A. were requried to have at least 1 Converter . All Exhaust Gasses have to pass through it for Emissions Control . Chrysler did get around the lighting Mandates in '68 & '69 MY's . The fines at that time were tolerable and worth the "Name Brand Identification" . Emission non compliance would stop all sales of the Corporations Vehicles until all Complied . Thanx ..
  3. Yup , common suppliers . Not originated or designed , engineered , manufactured , packaged , shipped by this Giant of Vehicle Assemblers . Outsourced like most of the parts content in the Sales Units they spew out . I am glad to see you have these Kevin . Thanx ..
  4. I don't think I am able to join in the fun . We have an 8 yr. old 'Puter w/ Microsoft XP . This is non longer supported by Microsoft as of the 12 th . of April . On dial up is a true incumbency to this activity . Thanx anyway ..
  5. I have to agree . Newts Boneyard is another high Quality Vendor . I am another satisfied customer . Thanx ..
  6. Our Future Plans call for a move to Phoenix . I was forced into selling my entire collection . It was moved into a Storage unit , lock , stock and barrel . A cold storage unit , not Climate control . It sat there over two years . The buyer could not get to it due to distance and travel . I bought it back . He gave up trying to get the proper vehicle to make one trip . About 9 months more I was able to put it in my own space . The Build ups suffered 1 Causality . A pick up now has a Cyclomac Plastic smile overall . the Caster saw it and is saddened as much as I am to view it . This one was underneath by mistake . I have a couple old Cyclomac Promos , it fits right in .. lol .. . Since I moved into another location in 2000 , my Stash of tobees have been in Cold Storage . This time , all of the buildups are displayed where I live inside . The Resins are indoors also . I fear the Hot / Cold Cycles . All resins pieces and paints etc. too . When I first got back into this Hobby , 1984 I have a routine . Tires removed , until 2006 from the box and sorted / placed in neat rows inside Fishing Tackle Boxes . Since 2006 , placed in Baseball Card Holders taped shut . Returned to the box at that point in time . The Custom Tires are entered into the Stash , neatly stored in the same locations . I did buy TMO kits and these are really hard to fix . The Decals , plucked and placed in Model Surplus boxes . In 2006 , these same went into leftover Ice Cream Boxes of the plastic Variety . I've suffered no losses here . These are indoors too . My Paints / glues , did not survive Cold Storage . These tips I did glean from being a Model Car Magazine subscriber/reader . I had to purge my Library plus the Kit Boxes in 2004 . I place all of the stash into Zip Lock Gallon Bags . Placed side by side neatly and tight , not packed , all remain undisturbed . Placed into the Home Storage Tubs , stacked three high and easy to get to .. lol.. I did list what is which tub to find what I want to pluck out certain kits . I loose this little spiral notebook constantly . I have tom find it first . Just simply digging through the Tubs is not an Option . I am always open to suggestion . Thanx .. PS ; I do not deny being Retentive .
  7. what I Even if you had left the Emblem in the Grille I would not know this ...... It's a blue Idunno . Thanx ..
  8. I'm getting closer ..lol .. I had the Make - Model correct . The year I missed by 5 . "I just missed it by that much Chief ." Thanx Harry .
  9. The Australian Valiant was a '62 MY . A clone of a Detroit Valiant . IIRC , with right hand drive being the only difference . I could look it up in 'Collect able Automobile' as Aussie MoPars was a Feature recently . Thanx ..
  10. I have the same similar issues . Here are some answers I have used . I can state separating an interior tub of something close into components like modern Tooling . Or start with Modern Tooling . May I suggest a 66 Comet upcoming from Trumpeter ? A Round ?? '67 Fairlane or Comet . Modifying to taste . Either Vacuum Forming or cast in Resin your desired parts . The Dashboard , separate the horizontal from the vertical and cast these . You do the modifications prior to the casting . Vacuum form would work also . Reattach the halves and you're done . A Revelle '64 Thunderbolt will work too . Seats , the same proceedure . IIRC , the '65 Fairlane used a similar '65 Full Sized Ford Line Steering Wheel . I hope this helps . I am watching this as I need some parts made that are beyond my skills . R&R dod offer a '65 Fairlane kit in resin . I have one , not up for trade . It is one of his doable kits . Ypou might want to try Steve Kohler . <stevekohler@cox.net> Thanx ..
  11. Yeah , I know better . His Mother Died and he begged for more time . I am not an indecent Human Being . My Mother passed in 1984 . I extended him a break for this Grieving time . What can I say ? "Sucker" to quote Barnum & Baily . Calling all Victims ; PM me , I've started something . Join in , let us give him some justice . Thanx ..
  12. I agree . Don & Carol are the leaders . The last original survivors . I respect and support them . The others sharing top spots I agree with too . Don't forget Dave Dopdge @ MCW . These are the people you will get what you expect if not moreso . Thanx ..
  13. Calling all victims : Would you , and all others Matt has stolen from , please PM me here . I have made a Pay Pal a Fraud Claim . It would help us all to do so at the same time . I don't know about you . I do not burn up my money to a Ripped off artist . I don't support some thing for nothing .. I need your help as you do need my help . Yes , it may be past 45 Days . I still have a complaint filed ! do not believe Matt will cease his Bad Business . He will continue under another name . Go to his Evil bait Profile to see what an impressive list of names he did Business there alone
  14. Checz Car in India also ? Does anyone know if Trabant tooling is currently functioning , making Vehicles in India as of now ? Thanx ..
  15. A beautiful machine . It is always the same . Italy is full of frustrated Ferarri Drivers stuck in Fiats . An Alfa Powered car does not make the transition to a Smog Control VW Engined Street Car . ..lol.. Thanx ..
  16. I knew the era only . A secrete I shared with Harry . I hope he does not change colors on future "Whazza Dis ?" I'm getting closer ... Thanx ..
  17. Yes on the Chevelles these Bow Tie Baby Moons being the Poverty Caps too . Actually these 1:1 , you pushed on with your hands gently . A great mistake is to hit them with a Hammer , like every other hub cap in the known Automotive Universe at that time . One wrong strike results with you taking a trip to replace with more identical Genuine GM pieces . These are totally dented and unrepairable with the slightest surface collisions . This includes loose stones and the resulting dings . Who says GM cannot innovate ? BTW , for laughs : my spell check shows me Camaro & Chevelle is mspld. ! lol .. Thanx ..
  18. I am not of the Internet Generation . I struggle constantly . With my disabilities I need challenging tasks . I may not get them right , in fact I have yet to get one right . Memory is an awful thing to loose . You and Harry ; I appreciate you both for these . Thanx ..
  19. Allan Raab @ Ma's Resins is mission Impossible for me . I've tried his contact addy many times . Now , at this time I cannot even find it . I've been after two sets of Non Skid for about 3-4 years . I build Factory Stock , Veteran , Antique . Vintage , and Pioneer Cars . These are perfect for the early 20's . Hallppp ... Thanx ..
  20. Attention Please ; Decon Resins has sent me an Email Message . He is closing out his Resin Casting business as of March 31 , 2014 . In case you did not know , he sells on Evil bait as ; Casten Parts as well as Lookout Model products . Years of promises sending me what I paid for may come to an end for me . My recent contacts have been Oct. 04 , Nov. 04 , 2013 . Jan 10 , (twice) & Jan 11, 2014 . The site I was sent to is <deconresins.proboards.com> Good luck . If the temptation is too great for you , confirm your purchase before hand . Use Pay Pal and do not - repete do not - let him talk you into giving him extra time . If he does not deliver at the deadline - pursue a solution through E Bay and Pay Pal . I trusted him , gave him more time . Where did it get me . Giving away my hard earned monies . Caution ..
  21. I dunno ?? Thanx ..
  22. Kevin @ Missing Link offered a '70 Cougar . Contact him for information . Modelhaus offers a ''67 . It is curbside . If these fail , check <rocketfin.com> . Scroll to the bottom , click Model Car , and do a resin search . Thanx ..
  23. I have one , not up for trade , and am quite happy with it . As you see , it is perfection . IIRC , I sourced a chassis from a '69 Chevelle Kit . The Taillights are just flat and easy to fabricate IIRC . Caution , only buy this Perry's resin from he , himself at a Show . The other choice is used or build up . Place in a wanted section of model sites a query for one . This site has one such selection . Search Ebay , Amazon , Emodels for one . Save your searches on these sites . One comes up you'll get notified . I I think it is a shame Randy doesn't have the funds to transfer the Mail & Emaile sales / shipping out to someone else . As Steve Kohler handles this end of the Business for a few casters . If you insist using Email or Snail Mail , be prepared for disappointment and having to contact him constantly for your product . It could be years to get results . Thanx ..
  24. May I suggest ; The Bottom of the trunk floor is the top of the gas tank . Take the kit chassis , fill the tank area slightly below level . Your method you choose won't be wrong . An slight depression is what you seek around the outside of the tank . I think IIRC these mats are just plain Egg-crate design . It consisted of Gray , Black and white intersection lines forming the design . Form a Template from thin paper . Cut out a mat from cadrstock using your Template . It would be a piece with the pattern printed on prior to this step . White Glue in place when ready after the painting of the sheet metal . Make sure you coat it with a semi gloss clear to seal it when the glue is dry . This will preventing warping from moisture as time passes . Thanx ..
  25. I am not a gm person . Would someone please PM me about the differences of SS-RS please . I do know what a Z-Car is (28 that is) . I do know these are Option Packages . Anyone else remember the 4 Chevy Dealers selling / making their own Performance machines ? Yenko , Nickey (?) , Baldwin Motion , and ?? . Thanx ..
