  1. My 2 Cents again with the AMC stuff . Available in the first place ; 1) '68 Javelin . No . '68 AMX . No . 2) '69 Javelin . Yes , JoHan kit in AMT Box per agreement . '69 AMX . Yes with the proper low seats only in 1969 , JoHan Kit . The re-pops by Seville , '69's with '70 Interior . Hi Back Bucket Seats only . 3) '70 Javelin . Yes . JoHan kit . '70 AMX . Yes . JoHan Kit . * 4) '71 Javelin . No . '71 Javelin AMX . JoHan . Re-poped Seville in all 4 years , in secrete code . I bought 5 to get the three different identifications . That is if you are not pickey about the "Bumper Gaurds" . 5) '72 Javelin . No . '72 Javelin AMX . No . Same as above . 6) '73 Javelin . No . '73 Javelin AMX . Yes . Same as above . 7) '74 Javelin . No . '73 Javelin AMX . Yes . Same as above . Raul did the '68 and '69 Javelins with the proper hoods , grilles . The '68 AMX could be done with research and sourcing the Grilles from Modelhaus , including the seperate inserts as the Taillight Lenses . The '68 and '69 AMX's could be done by removing the High Back Bucket Seats . Research needed here too . * '70 Javelins in Resin were made by : Missing Link , Kevin has this one in the process again for casting . Jimmy Flintstone did a Mark Donuhue , Trans Am style kit . Matt Conde did (or least he said so > I thusley paid for / never got) a kit . '70 AMX , Missing Link , Kevin did one . If anyone would like to add th these , please do so . I won't make comments about the Engines and how these are visually different . Just think SBC .. lol .. Yes , I am a hard core AMC Collector / Builder .
  2. Italian Origin and not Eastern Blok ? Not Chezc nor Ruski ? I cannot even get that right . I guess I am too American and not enough World Class . Thanx ..
  3. The front Suspensions were "Trunion" type . Lower A Frame , upper A frame connected by the Spindle . Above the upper control arm is the Trunion . It attches to the spindles and rotates with the spindles . The upper end was attached to the Body as is a Strut . The Shock location I don't remember . I remember replacing front shocks on these . I remember these Trunions were not too difficult to replace and rendered the Car Immobile when these failed . The ride gave pleanty of warning of Impending failure . A Marlin kit closely duplicated this . The floorboards were more "wrinkled" , or Embossed than MoPar Unibodies . A more ridgid Platform , moreso than the other makers . Obviously more experianced at this process . Since 1940 MY , the Airflite Model . The AMC had "Lift Pad" ('s) stamped on these portions of the UniBody for Chassis Service Lift and racks . The underhoods I would appreciate greatly . The short legged only passenger look I would like to eliminate . I would not appreciate so much the underhood and lack of Horns and as a plus : Inside Rear View Mirrors . I am in for any AMC Cars in any shape : as long as it is Plastic and 1/25 Scale . I am a snob due to Display / Storage Area I have to work with . I don't like Die Cast . Did you ever Paint one ?
  4. I did have a '61 Galaxie Crown Vic I put on Long Spring Shackles . Within a month , all 4 Ball Joints were replaced as a Necessity . The rake was in ! I was way in too ! Next was my '65 Mustang Ragtop . About the third time I did a FTPS , It was necessary to replace the Rear Leaf Spring Set . I installed HD Falcon Wagon replacements and .. Air Shocks . I leveled out this by installing longer HD Front Coils . It rode like a Skateboard . It was slightly too tall . As the Poilce only had Bumper Height specs from '69 and up ... BTW , I had Dropped Pipes on it . Good name for these as I was always picking up hot Pipes from the ground travelling the rough roads I was on . The Next car Purchase was a '70 AMC Javelin SST . I left that one alone . I did build models as these in the day . Today , no way , I'm stuck ion Factory Stock and wil stay in this genre . Thanx ..
  5. I only Knew the English origin , or at the least Ford of Europe from the Wheels . England from the RHD . Due to FoMoCo wheels , not Japanese . Thanx Sincerely Harry ..
  6. Without any hints I'll only divulge I know the country of Origin . Other than that , I just don't know again . I have yet to get one of these right . I'm still glad you are doing this . It stimulates my decaying and disentigrating Grey Matter . I do apperciate these Harry , immensely . Thanx ..
  7. May I just suggest to all of those bemoaning lack of pics . Go to a show and take pics like we were presented here . Do the same . For those who cannot attend Shows , it is Possible for us to post pics of Modelhaus Products . In the raw , WIP's and finished . I am willing to do this from my stash . I'm sure others would be willing too . Now , where to do so ? Moderators please help on this . I know this would be a line between Free Advertisment and information only you can determine . Don and Carol don't need the advertisment . The business is very fair to the Customers and Other Casters IMHO . During all of their entire history by not making delibertally or directly duplicate competing Product . I never will post the cost of anything I have as it is irrevelent to me . I've been a Customer since the Begaining of Modelhous . Thanx ..
  8. The JoHans Javelin AMX kits '71-'74 kits were the flat roofed '72 and newer bodies . On the 1:1's the '71 Javelin AMX's had the T Roof . It was an option . This is what my research has shown so far . My sources are : Collectable Automobile , Automotive Quartely , and Dealer's brochures I no longer have . The Javelins were all flat roofed . As always I found an exception to this . The Seville Javelin AMX re-pops of all 4 years were trickey to decipher . The box numbers were a code . The '71 kit has the T Roof . The 1:1 Javelin AMX's in the day ('71 only IIRC) had a contrasting color or Vinyl Roof in the insert of the T section . If anyone else can add any thing to this , I'll be gald to see it . I am still trying to get right ther details for the '71 - '72 - '73/'74 Grilles . The front Valance I've done by eliminating the Chin Spoiler , The front turn/ parking/marker lights for the '71 - '72 are on the planned , not executed pile . The Blank outs for the '73/74 are a problem to be solved . As is the non-ram air hood for all four years . The rear taillight panel for a '73/'74 Javelin is not sorted out as I cannot figure the process to make the center target . The trunk lid requires a lock in it the Spoiler covers and has through it . The kit lid is smooth . The '71 & '72 Taillight panels & lenses I have . Also , the problem of getting a caster to pop these is insurmountable . I also cannot get a straight answer for whick Putty to use not to stick to the mold from the Master I'm making . The suggetion so far say Tamayia . I don not support non US Hobby Materials / Tools / Paints Suppliers . Something hard not to do I know . I've failed at this too . I choose not to do so on this subject . "Give me Squardron or give me death !" Is this quite right an quote ? Thanx ..
  9. I did get my wanted U joints from Crazy Jim . Excellent for me . Not so much for he as these are small intense pieces . I am needing these for the Lindbergh / Pyro Cord kit . It is a dog I am converting into a silk purse . This detail helps . I'll see them as to answer a question posted here , Art . Flip the model over and BOOM .. 'der itis ! ... lol .. I always did get to see the parts of every Car in my life . Some of these were not for "Public View " .. lol .. And a Big Thanx to you Jim ..
  10. Im scratch built this same model . I did not get the windows quite right . I modified the plans with a Funnace / stove (cooking unit) using Fuel Oil instead of Propane . Mine depicts an much older version . I have seen the Modelhaus version . The Windows are better then mine . The interior is easy . Curtains . Anything Modelhaus , I highly reccomend . Thanx ...
  11. Wowser . I don't go here much . The name caught my eye . She's a beauty . I takes me months to paint a Model . I did a restoration , clean up , detail out on an Orange '73 Dro . I took me a week to coax back the Firemist Red paint and final wax it . It was in a smoking enviroment . You sir are a Craftsman . It looks quite 1:1 . Just right and I want one like it . This is why we build models IMHO . . Thanx ..
  12. Thank you . I'll try again . His Mo must have changed as he would take the money and run . As he did me IMHO . There are others , I can only speak for myself . Thanx ..
  13. cam7894 & azers , I would like the contact information about Matt Please ? Would you please post it here or PM me ? I am not the Lone Ranger from dealings , or more properly : paid for and not delivered / refunded wit Matt . Thanx ..
  14. Pm on it's way Harry !
  15. FoMoCo would not repete the same fatal mistake as Studebaker Packard Corp . IMHO this was among a constant barrage of choices made by managment . Awfull , costly and terribly wrong choices . These vaulted Chevy Engines was just pouring gasoline on a fire as the result was to predictably speed up the end . The Warrenty Claims paid out for this debacle avlanched to a new height . Making not only the depletion of the remaining monies in the coffer . Also further the Tarnishment of the reputatuion for the failing concern . This reputation made further acess to Capital impossible . FoMoCo did not become Government Motors . Only good decisions made this happen . I think FOMoCo would "stay the course" . Thanx ..
  16. Ummm , Ummmm ? Wait a minute ! Is not Castenparts the same Matt Conde that I contacted in January '13 asking about the Javelin I paid for and Never Got ? Not Reliable Resins , the Other guy . His Mother died . Following as a result , his business failed and a number of folks got empty promises and no products they paid for . On Ebay , In his answer , he stated he would make the Javelin he never sent within 12 weeks . I would have it in March . I believed this to be March , 2013 . Once again , you know what happens when you assume . I don't have a Javelin nor my Purchase cost refunded . If I am wrong about this particular person , please someone correct me ? I did photocopy the Communications Matt and I had before Evil Bait deleted these . I am unable to contact him now and since April ! I don't think I would reccomend or buy from him again . In the 7 + years of activity on Model Car Sites . Doing Business with Resin Casters of Model cars since the begaining in the '80's. Usimg Mail Order starting during the '50 's . The results have been : Matt Conde ; totally dissappointed from lack of Product or refund . Okie Spalding ; Two and a half years eeking out an order We agreed to combine three seperate orders to save me Shipping and three trips for him to ship these to me . They arrived one at a time . I understand Business . He lost monies and further soured his reputation taking so long to ship these three . One at a time instead of what was agreed to ? Perry's Resins ; More than a year to send a Kit I checked and he verified he had in Stock prior to ordering . I must cut him slack on this . He did communicate with me via Phone . The issues he was experiencing seem all to real . Believeable and convincing arguments on his behalf . His close friend on here did connect with Randy and did a fix . Thank you sir . Randy I would hesitate to repeate a Purchase from . Okie , no , although he did come through with product in the end . Now about Matt . Yes Matt . In 2010 the Purchase was made IIRC , now it is near 2014 . Really can you do the math ? If you do not entirely want something for your money then go for it . All three of these persons have been topics here many times before . If I am wrong about Matt , I will apologize . I sometimes get his last name wrong . The name Castenparts , I don't miss . I'm a disabled shut in with a penschiant for writing down occurances and keeping records . Thanx ..
  17. IMHO . a '46 - '48 Fordor Ford body is out there . IIRC , it is an R&R Conversion . Acquire this body , change up interior details . Put all of this on a '46 - '48 Ford Monogram , Testors , Union . or IMP kit doner . These are the same cars with small detail changes for our Model Replicas purposes . Quite especailly the '46 MY . Not a hard project to do . Detroit did not re-tool to meet the Pent Up Auto Demand Post WW II . As not having the Time or the money to do so when Hostilities ended . Oh yeah , don't forget to Black Out . Stainless and Chrome were not available for Car Manufacturing use . This may be the reason I may entertain/do the same endevor . Thanx ..
  18. I did buy these when first out from Air Trax : Anglia (106) , the Cortina ('60's) and the Volvo P1800 . These are WIP's for me . I would buy more as Julia's group are fantastic modelers . I am not able to buy anything now from them regretabally . I'll look at their site and drool anyway . I would not hesitate to purchase again from Air Trax . IIRC . Julia was at a Toledo Show awhile back . A great Modeler and a real great person , not a fake . Thanx ..
  19. Yes , me too . I cannot accesas FB or some other sites . So , please , keep us up to date here ? Thanx ..
  20. '32 Ford AMT kits , specifically Roadster had MC Fenders . Along with Later editions of AMT Model T kits . The first ones were rounded (crowned) , the later issues have the HD raised seam . This should widen the search base for you . One of the Model Car Mags in the '80's had an article to scratch build these . Thanx ..
  21. This kit is a Drag Racer . I see no negative statements about Speed City Resin Casters here or antwhere . Thanx ..
  22. I am going to copy pics of this for reference . I am building a Cord Phaeton , Cord Convertable (no back seat) from the Dreaded Trio . A '36 Indy (Pace) Official Car + a Humpback Sedan , and Slopeback Sedan from AAM conversions . Monogram's kits as donars or as it were ; raw material . You could sat , I like Cords . I need some chassis shots for exhaust routing ect. I cannot view Videos on Mon'suer 'Puter . Any suggestions for a source for this info ? The Monogram kits are buried in the Archives . All three are inaccessable in other words . The Phaeton is in Finish Coat . You created a Beauty . A tirbute to the 1:1 . Thanx ..
  23. I don't go here often . I spotted this thread name while scrolling down . I am a Factory Stock builder . So , I looked & smily face ( ) !. I like this build . Most excellent , just right . The "Peter Green" looks like Factory ? I have lost my Paint chart . I am re-taking pics of my collection . If , that is a big if , I'll post my '49 Mercury here . Alaska Blue w/gray guts . A replica of the James Dean car in ; 'Rebel Without a Cause" before modifications . Thanx ..
  24. A Studdabubba is my entry . It was the name of one of my Uncle's Mother . Stud is the Official name in Ohio for title and licensing work purposes . Thanx ..
