  1. Troy, the box says it's 1/25 scale, but it looks a bit small to me. The hood looks about 6 scale inches short, but overall, I think the model looks ok. Sam
  2. Very nice! I admire anyone with the skills to modify metal models. Great work! The luggage rack is exquisite! Sam
  3. Looks good so far! I like the chop and headlight scoops. For taillights, how about tunneled 59 Caddie bullets? Sam
  4. Whoa! It really took a hit! As you said, there's not much left, maybe some interior parts. I think I would have flattened the front tires if it was my model. Great work! Sam
  5. Another beauty, Tulio! Great finish! I always like that roofline on those old Fords! Nice work! Sam
  6. Very nice! Those old Pontiac land yachts are cool! Roof looks good! Sam
  7. We all like detailed models, but there's something to be said for a simple build now and then. This is about as simple as it gets - the Revell 34 Ford coupe Snap-Tite kit. I bought it on a whim and enjoyed building it. I made a few mods: 32 Ford wheels with vintage piecrust slicks and narrow front tires (painted whitewalls), and a Testors gloss black paint job (I didn't like the factory purple), with orange wheels and orange and tan interior. I added a BMF stripe on the side, and foiled the windshield frame. No mirrors, Harry. None came in the kit and I just forgot about them. I'll add one later. I need to redo the black wash on the grille, too. I hope you guys like it.
  8. Not pretty, but is it any worse than marques like Lincoln and Mercedes making SUV's? Sam
  9. Looks great! Good color scheme, and nice trailer too. Sam
  10. I like it! Warped bodies are really hard to work with. Looks like you did a good job on this one! Sam
  11. A little odd looking, but very cool! I wonder what displacement that engine would be in 1/25 scale - maybe 10 liters?! Sam
  12. Very nice rat rod! Great weathering, and the diorama is very realistic! The pickup box on the rear deck is a cool touch! Sam
  13. Nice clean build. Well done! Sam
  14. Beautiful model! Superb metal work on the radiator and everywhere! The color is just right too! Sam
  15. Very cool! Great weathering. Looks like it had a hard life! The duct tape seat repair is a nice touch! Sam
  16. Great realism! I like the weeds growing through the pickup bed. The guy hoisting the Mustang engine in (or out) is a cool touch. Nice work! Sam
  17. Amazing build! The engine detail is incredible! Great work! Sam
  18. John, the continental kit comes in the model kit, with the bumper extension molded in, so you pretty much have to use it unless you have a spare 55 bumper from some other kit. No problem, though. The real 55 I was copying has the connie kit too. I brushed some flat clear on the interior. It worked to dull it down a bit. Thanks for the tip Richard and Tom! I didn't have dullcote, so I used some Krylon flat clear. It started to make the orange paint run, but I cleaned it up. It could have been a real mess! Thanks to everyone for the nice compliments - much appreciated! Sam
  19. Incredible model! That's one of the best looking 32's I've ever seen! Amazing engine details! Excellent work! Sam
  20. Wow! That's a beautiful 'Vette! Great finish! I have an original issue Big T that I built about 1962, unpainted, then repainted a couple years later in a terrible lavender color. What was I thinking? It's faded and falling apart, waiting for its third reincarnation, too! Sam
  21. Here's a shot that shows the interior better. That guy on the left likes it! Slusher mentioned foil work. One of the reasons I like this kit is because it doesn't require very much foil compared to many other 1950's cars. The windshield frame, vent windows, and rear body side trim parts are all separate chromed pieces. The only foiling was the strip from the doors to the headlights and the strips on top of the doors and around the back of the interior. I foiled the chrome trim on the inside of the doors, mainly to cover up my sloppy masking job between the orange and white colors. One problem I forgot to mention was the three piece dashboard. I took it apart twice to get it right, once after it was installed! Thanks for the compliments, all! Sam

    289 Cobra

Very clean and nice Cobra! Good color choice. I've only seen one real Cobra in yellow. Good work! Sam
  23. Excellent build, Richard. I'm sure your late friend would love it. What a great tribute! Sam
  24. Hi guys. I just finished my fourth 1950's build in the last two months. This 55 convertible is a Monogram kit, and it builds up nice, although it reminds me of some of the fiddly Revell kits of the 1960's. No major problems, though. I chose the orange color based on a real 55 convert I've seen in local car shows. The orange is Allis-Chalmer orange tractor paint, and the white is Testors gloss white. The interior is too glossy - I just forgot to spray on some flat clear before I mated it to the body. Oh, well! The orange is actually much more "orange" than it looks in the photos. Here are some photos of it on my dioramas. I liked doing this build. The 55 Belair is one of my favorite cars. I hope you guys like it!
  25. Great work on the radiator and all the details! I'm eager to see the finished model! Sam
