That's just sweet! Some really nice scratch building you did, and that frame is pure art. I've love to see a WIP if you have one at all.

2012 POST APOCALYPSE/ZOMBIE HUNTER COMMUNITY BUILD
Ryan S. replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in Community Builds
Haven't had time to build in a while now, but I thought that I would share this if anyone was interested. I just read it while on vacation. It was a good book, easy read and fairly short. Could offer some cool ideas for zombie details in dioramas and displays. I found my copy at Costco of all places. -
I was in Mexico last week, specifically Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo and we didn't know it, but the NORRA Baja 1000 was finishing up close to where were were staying. They had closed off some of the streets where they had the race routed and was actually pretty coo to see the variety of vehicles that were part of the race. I didn't get a lot of good pictures, but at one point while we were walking around, these guys were towing a broken Edsel that had been turned into an off road car. They were pretty busy taring the car apart to fix the problem so I didn't get a chance to talk to them, but I'm curious what made them choose this car of all of them to race. It was pretty cool.

April issue came today..
Ryan S. replied to Rob Hall's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
As expected, mine was in the mailbox this morning. For the first time the back page wasn't torn or damaged! Another great issue. It's funny because I know I can expect mine to be delivered 4 days after the first post on here of someone getting theirs. It's been consistently that way for 4 or 5 issues now. -
Turned out great! The front splitter and the rear spoiler along with the hood treatment go a long way to making this so unique. At first glance it hardly looks like a Miata. The paint really highlights that too.

Looking really good so far and I like where it's headed. Great work on the body mods so far.

I got inspired to pull this one back out and get back on it. I realized I had two directions going on this one; custom and some modern. I think I want to give it more of a classic custom feel and the first place to make a change is the interior. I felt that some tuck and roll was appropriate so I broke out the half round and got to gluing. I've done the door panels and the bench seat thus far. I might do a head liner as well, but I'm getting low on stock, so we'll see. There's some gaping on the seat, but I've got some thread that I'm going to do some piping with once it's painted, so it won't be seen in the end. Here you can see how I've been busy with the bondo, primer and sand paper, trying to get things all smoothed out. As always, thanks for taking a look!

Question about Monogram '55 Ford F100 decals
Ryan S. replied to Ryan S.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks for the info Richard. That helps explain a lot. Maybe I'll see if I can just get the right decals from Revell. Maybe they'll send me the panel van ones, if they still have them in stock. Cheers. -
Hi all, I just noticed that the gauge cluster decal that's in the most recent release of the Monogram 1955 Ford F-100 (purple box art) is cut the opposite shape of what it should be. The dash is molded with the gauge cluster oriented like an upside down triangle, but the decal is cut to fit a shape more like a right-side-up triangle. Does anyone else that has this kit have the same issue? I could put the decal in so that it fits the opening, but then all the gauges would be upside down and it wouldn't be a perfect fit, and although it might be a little anal of me, I don't like the idea of doing it that way. I ordered a replacement set of decals from Revell and I'm hoping that they are correct. I'm just wondering if all the kits were this way or if it was just my set of decals.

What do you do if you won what I won?
Ryan S. replied to tiking's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Wow! Congrats of the awards. How big is that tank when built? That is one big box! -
Wonderful job on this. The paint choice looks great. I could look at Nomads all day long!

Pretty neat idea and you really pulled it off. The slot machines look good and the doors flipping up to be gaming tables is ingenious! Well done! Can I assume the poker room in in the back seat?

Looks really good like that!

Lookin good, Mike. I love the color choice!

I got some better pictures so I'm bumping this up for those that wanted to see. Thanks for checking it out! -
Very nicely done! Excellent detail work and I love that wood grain in the interior.
