1960 Chevy Apache
oldscool replied to oldscool's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Some more progress. I see that I need some touch up on the rear window gasket and tail light bezels. Next step is to BMF the cab trim. -

That's right Bruce. I wanted to show the original color on the dash. -

Thanks for the tip David. I got it to fit by removing the flange from the bottom of the windshield and moving the dash a little closer to the seat by widening the slots. -

I need a little help from those who have built this kit already. The interior won't go all the way up into the cab. Any advice? -

Finished the interior: The seat was left streaky to appear worn. The seat is Testors flat brown enamel from the little bottle and the floor mat is Pollyscale engine black. The door panels are the Krylon satin Ivory and the dash is Tamiya TS-49 bright red. -
Glasspack Mufflers `60-`70 vintage
oldscool replied to 69NovaYenko's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
The AMT 69 and 70 Impalas came with the header mufflers as well. -
Been working on this AMT kit for about three weeks now. Until the newest reissue came out I thought this was the old annual kit and stayed away from it. When I saw it was a modern kit I decided to build one. It's done in Krylon red Oxide Primer and Satin Ivory. The paint is a little rough on purpose as I want it to look like an unfinished project truck. Stripped the chrome from the bumpers and grille because I think the Ivory looks good with the red.

Most beautiful cars of all time
oldscool replied to El Roberto's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Good analogy Snake. Like you, I'm an aircraft as well as a car guy. -
I'm pretty sure these wheels are in the latest release of the Round2 65 Lincoln. They sure look the same to me.

Finally back at the bench after 3-4 years. When I last posted on a regular basis I was doing a dual Camaro build involving the AMT 68 and Revell 69 kits. I have almost finished the 68. Just need to foil the door handles. All OOB except the exhaust system.

oldscool replied to 69NovaYenko's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I would like to see a 71 Challenger just because I like the grille and tail lights better than the 70. Would also like to see Revell do a Ranchero from the 70 Torino molds. -

Now that's what I'm talkin about! That seat actually looks soft. Well done sir. -
That is beautiful. Where did you get the carburetor? It's one of the best scale carbs I have ever seen.

Me too as it was the first car model I ever built. I already have the Mustang, Ranchero and Avanti.
