  5. Very nice job!! That is one sharp looking ride!
  6. I was wondering that too. I thought they maybe were decals because they both look exactly the same. They don't really look like decals though...
  7. I commented in your other post with the van, but I'll say it again because this build deserves it... ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!! Every time I see that you posted something new, it brings a smile to my face and I can't wait to click on it! Man, that would make me nervous putting that beauty in the water! What if a snapping turtle mistook it for a duck or something?!
  8. Personally, I like paying 10-20 bucks for a regular kit and adding all of the goodies myself. To me, that is where most of the fun of building comes in: making what you have on hand into realistic looking details. I guess it's just much more satisfying to me to know that I made the kit look better than what came from the box rather than just use what's in the box, if that makes sense. Just my opinion. p.s. check out davezinn's sig when you get a free moment. please don't take offense, just messin with ya.
  9. John, that is one SWEET combo! GREAT job as always! I bet the neighbors aren't too happy when they fire that baby up in the driveway!
  10. Welcome to the site! Hopefully you'll start building soon! Don't let all of the "little pieces" intimidate you. Just take it one step at a time. That's how I do it. Focus on on "parts" of the build and don't even worry about the other stuff until you get to it. For example: take all of the engine pieces out of the box first and worry about building the engine. When that's done, focus on building the interior. Keep doing it like that, and before you know it, the car will be all ready to put together. Then sit back and give yourself a nice pat on the back and enjoy looking at what you've just accomplished. Oh yeah, and don't forget to share it with your new buddies here! edit: Just wanted to add, it's a good idea to follow the instructions that come with the kit until you get a good feel for how they go together. Also, do a "test fit" of the parts before you paint them. This can save you from a lot of aggravation down the road. If you run into any problems, don't hesitate to ask here. This is a great community (the best on the net) with a lot of experienced and friendly builders who are always willing to help out at the drop of a hat.
  11. That turned out beautiful!! Very nice attention to detail! That sure is something that you should be very proud of! GREAT work!!!
  12. Nice job so far!! Looks like all of that body work and sanding payed off nicely! Looking forward to seeing this one done. Keep up the great work!

That is VERY nice!! Great job!! I started a similar project a while back and this just may be the inspiration I need to get back on it! Thanks for sharing!
  14. I'm really diggin' that '29. Looks cool!
  15. REALLY nice build!! I bet that thing would peel out pretty good!
  16. Oh, I guess I shoulda phrased that differently. Not really any problems with the kit (except it was missing a headlight lens and I got it as a sealed kit). My first mistake was painting it with white testors enamel. I painted it about 2 weeks after the build started and I can still sink my nails into it very easily. Also, no matter how clean I thought my hands were, I made several colored marks that "soaked" into the paint and were hard to get rid of. The bare metal foil that I used on it didn't seem like the stuff I'm used to. It was pretty thick and the glue on it seemed terrible. Anyone else have a problem with the "new and improved chrome"? It was just one of those builds that nothing goes right on. Nothing wrong with the kit. I thought it was pretty nice, really.
  17. Here's my late entry. I couldn't really find the time to finish it by 6/01 so I spent the past few late nights rushing to get it finished. This was one of those builds that fought me every step of the way and I wasn't really interested in so it was kind of hard to finish, but here she is. My Camera killed it's last set of batteries while I was taking the final shots, so the chassis shot is an older "in progress" one. I just wanted to get the car posted before it was WAY too late. If I get a chance to get some batteries, I'll take more pictures and replace these. They didn't seem to turn out too good. The picture in the reflection came out better than the car itself. lol Maybe too bright out for the white?
  18. Man! Due to the incredibleness (is that a word?) of this build, I feel that my one comment was not enough. I just have to say again, WOW!!!!!!! I just spent another 20 minutes staring at this beauty and if it weren't for the huge fingers holding the dipstick, I would swear that this is a real car. Absolutely AMAZING! I gotta know though, have you tried out the nitrous yet?
  19. That is BEAUTIFUL!!! GREAT job!!!
  20. LOL, you should put a little maple syrup or something on the end of it. That is one SERIOUSLY incredible build! When I saw this the first time you posted it, it totally blew my mind! This time around was no different! That is something to be very, very proud of right there.
  21. That is really, really, REALLY cool!! I like it a lot! GREAT job! Thanks for sharing!
  22. That is really cool! I like how you did the inside of the bar. Maybe I'll stop over there for a couple of drinks later.
  23. Thanks for the info. I guess maybe I could get away with using the regular 67 Chevelle tail lights. Although, they are different from the wagon/elky tail lights, they look somewhat similar. A 67 wagon would be perfect though, because they share the same lights as the 67 El Camino. I guess I'll try to get the 2 kits, and if the lights work, cool. If not, I can't see them being that hard to make. So if I get these two, they should line up in the middle? 66 El Camino 67 Chevelle Thanks again for the responses, guys.
