  1. after i sent that post, i kind of figures out you knew what you were doing, but cant retract the statement avter you hit that button. are you doing this from the new release kit. how does that compare to the 6 old style kits i have? you will be able to work around those towers, cut the inner fenders out and move them out a little. should not need that much room. make a support bar on the wheel side of the inner fender and hanf the shock from there. see, problem solved. hehe.... and really, only a 500, go bigger, this is pro street, "no substitute for cubic inches!" i hear you about the board. just a lot of great builds on here. want to see them complete.... even mine!! hopefully!!
  2. looking killer. this is one i have had in the back of my mind forever and just never got to it... yet !! i will be watching. keep up the posts, getting kinda slow round here, thats life. glad to have you aboard. one note, by cutting the center out if the chassis, you will have to change the geometry of the suspension. EVERYTHING has moved inward now. i usually trim the tubs to make them fit in the body, along with sanding down the inside of the body.
  3. hehe, great story, great build. love to see oddball pro street cars. i keep pro street chassis and rear tire on my bench at all times.
  4. ME!!! ME!!!! i would be interested. question, do you have anything on full tube cassis cars?
  5. great!! looking forward to them. well, i finally got something done on my pontiac, trade finally went thru, thanks Casey, a real stand up guy. need to get this chassis straightened out before the parts get here. like i said, was going to go full tube chassis, but i had this resin piece laying around, so i thought i would use that and just back half it with more chassis bracing. will get to the trunk area this weekend. i added a shot of what it looked like before i tore it apart.
  6. ok, people watching, 1:1 cars, bowling, drawing, i coach baseball and bowling, baseball (GO TRIBE), football (GO BROWNS), used to collect sports cards, got way out of hand.
  7. sure, sounds like 2 great projects. only criteria is that they have to be street legal and they cant be more tha 25% built. other than that, welcome.
  8. love unique cars. great idea. now you have to paint it some classic 2 tone (body and roof) colors!! gonna be a killer build!
  9. i like it, although i am in the minority, i say if you wasnt to rebuild it, rebuild it. but keep it tubbed, gotta love pro street! can we get a shot of the chassis, please?
  10. looks great. check your pm's.
  11. i know it was an option in 71 on cudas, not sure on challangers. more popular (but still rare) on the B-Bodies as Fred stated.
  12. yep, thats exactly what i was thinking..... be pretty cool if you are into 4x4's.
  13. nice job so far. keep us posted. is this kit based of of the 1/24 T/A Challanger? things look different?
  14. sweet. will look great on the shelf. did you do the airbrushing on thte boards or is that a decal?
  15. yea Jamie, real good people here to help!! do that monte justice pal, i had one started till the body got smashed. i remember these monte's tubbed out at the street machine nationals, slick looking cars. make sure you get it down low. not that hard to do. like mike said test fit many, many times. i bet i put the resin piece in my pontiac (se below) 20 times already and still have to to some trimming and gutting, and it's not even glued to the chassis yet. anyways, finally got somewhere on my pontiac (pictures to come) i compromized with myself on the chassis and am going to back half it instead of scratch building one with a resin piece i got from a friend. will have to thin the wall of the tubs down cause they are way too thick. trying to swing a deal for some new pontiac 421 and other parts but it isn't going too well. will get some picts up tonight.
  16. big fattys out back, centerlines and as low as you can go..... that's the way i build 'um... i heard about people cutting tires. that i will not do. if i want it that low, i will bubble the body! and my front tires will turn.
  17. great build and very nice photos!!
  18. very cool build, something you do not see everyday in someones collection.
  19. beautiful cuda!! yours also Tom. i have a few of thses cudas and both of you made an excellent build out of what i think is a sub-par kit.
  20. cool, the more the marrier, within the rules of course. let me state that i am part of this too cause i have just tore down the pontiac and am gathering up parts, but its like alot of posts. many people jumped in with both feet but have seem to have faded, hey life gets in the way, i understand completely, there were some awesome builds going on and i would like to see this thread continue. not whining, just a hard core pro streeter at heart and love to see um!!! i will be posting up this weekend on the progress of mine. being a community build and having a friendly nudge by people posting thier progress every once in a while sure helps. Jamie. i have your M/T's ready to go, i added some centerlines in there to give you a choice. very cool!! so Marshall, i guess your in!!
  21. lesson #28 while going thru your parts box, you always see that certain part you dont need yet, but say "someday", now "someday" comes and that special part is nowhere to be found. hence wasting valuable building time looking for said certain par. lesson #29 the insatiable desire to start yet another project. fueled by the purchase of a 5th hudson hornet. (ie - "how many of those do you actually need?" c'mon, we all have heard it !) lesson #30 every tool is in its place except when you need it. even when you have 6 pairs of tweezers. lesson #31 honeydo lists ('nuff said)
  22. well, posts have been few and far between so nobody should object to another person jumping in, i say OK, does anyone object... as soon as i send off some M/T's, Jamie should be jumping in also.
  23. hey guys, we are falling down the list. any progress? i finally stopped fighting myself and will do a complete frame under my 62 pontiac. still looking at other projects to finish, still getting the room in order, just havent focused on this build yet. now the debate is whether i get photo etched stuff for the chassis or not. never worked with it and my 53 year old eyes need more light to even see the parts on the trees let alone some microscopic part that i just know i will drop. some progress shots should be posted up this weekend. hope you all are doing something, hate to see this build go to the second or third page.
  24. this GTX is looking killer, beautiful paint, love the same color interior. that was done alot more than people think. side note - i had a 69 hemi runner that was F5 (frost green metalic) w/ 2 tone green interior, bench seat, 4 speed car. origional owner street raced, said he wanted something that was "unseeable" as he put it.
