  1. I have my kit, paint, and am patiently waiting. G
  2. I agree as well. Keep plugging along, you'll get back into the swing sometime. I saw that coming with wife #2, so I took my stash to a friends, and donated all the built up police cars to the academy library. G
  3. The original Bigfoot was built by what's now Midwest 4wd in Hazelwood MO. They would test drive that sucker almost every night on Lindbergh Blvd. out by the airport. Many nights sitting at the airport viewing area "watching the planes" we'd see Bigfoot getting pulled over by the cops. G
  4. Looks just about right. It is a near perfect representation of what we all fear. I like it. G
  5. I only drove a tracked vehicle, a LVTP 7A, for familiarization twice. In my day it had a hydrostatic tranny, a gas pedal, and a steering wheel. It did have a parking brake, which Is visible in that interior shot. That's what brought back the memories, I remembered thinking "why does this beast need a parking brake?" Scratching those tracks wouldn't be hard, just tedious. They are just two rubberbands with metal bars riveted to them. The "hump" in the middle is where the tires ride. There is no need for a drive sprocket, or track guides. Ingenious in it's simplicity really. G
  6. Shari the showgirl maybe? G
  7. The "other" mag did a comparison once awhile back. Seems all those early figgies didn't stay faithful to scale. It was kind of like the old box scale kits. Build a model that fit in a specific box. Have a driver that fit in the out of scale interior. G
  8. I took the opportunity to walk through my old PD's fleet services department many times over the years. It was amazing looking up at the various cars while being serviced. Gray, mostly gray, a bit o' brown, some lube stains here and there, but NO rust. Exhaust systems never rusted as they were always hot. Run a car 24/7/365, give it a bath on a regular basis, and you will mostly never see rust. Yes I am well aware heat rusts metal, rust is really just fire slowed down 1000's of times, yet hardly ever was an exhaust system replaced on a car. I have seen exhaust manifolds warp, paint get a bit dull, and well extreme wear on the interior, but rust wasn't an issue. Pop the hood and you'll see the same as the undercarriage. "There's a motor in there?" Sitting still is quite another matter for a midwestern auto..................... Now here in the desert, faded paint, cracked rubber/plastic/vinyl, but NO RUST. G
  9. Chevrolet LT 1 in a police package 9C1 Caprice. That was a runnin' mojo. G
  10. Here's the tracks I'm using on this one. This is how they fit together, one little bitty piece at a time. G
  11. As promised. I used wire to replace the kit hatch handles. G
  12. More to come tonight. She's in primer right now, initial finish tomorrow. G
  13. Sniffing glue? Uh, I don't remember, but it's bad, yeah, bad. Uh what? G
  14. Wow! Mine was a green 5 speed "Rams Horn" model. Remember those? G
  15. I'm not sure why it changed since I've never played with the font size. According to the option list, this is size 12. Any better? Much Better! G
  16. Here's the start of yet another Sherman tank. This is a US Marine M4A2 from the Pelelieu campaign. The crews added track links as extra armor as the battle progressed. Primer later today. G
  17. Very, very, nice. Wow, I want to see what you do now. G
  18. I will not say it, I will not say it, I will not! G
  19. What type of paint was he spraying? It had a real fast flash time for sure. G
  20. Um, yeah, that was a real car? Wow, I want what they were smoking. Halloween in this town is amazing. I'll get back to you guys on that after the kiddies go to bed. G
