  1. We always had two cars as far back as I can remember. I came along in '55 and the first car I recall Dad having was a '56 Olds. I remember Mom having a '55 Chevrolet 4 dr and later a '63 Ford Galaxie. Dad later bought a '63 Chevy II for himself, a very basic car, and Mom got a '65 Wildcat shortly thereafter. G
  2. When you live where I do, strange flying objects are common.......................... G
  3. Upper 70's during the day 50's at night. Windows and doors are open. G
  4. Whooo HOOO! A couple of tips if I may. They arent born with instructions tatooed on their butts, you will never say "I don't know" more than when the lil bugger gets here. "Why's the baby crying?," "I don't know!". etc etc etc They will walk, they will talk and they will potty train and they will do it when they are BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH good and ready. Forget the stories of Uncle Bozo's youngest who was performing advanced calculus at age 2. It's a story. They poop, they pee, they drool and they are the best thing to happen to you in your life. G
  5. DO NOT freak out about the correct shade of "Russian Green". The color, 4BO green, has been has been the subject of unending debate by modellers since the end of WWII. My choices are, in no particular order: ModelMaster Acryl "Russian Green". Tamiya "NATO Green" with a dab of "Dark Yellow". Tamiya "Olive Green" 65% with "Dark Yellow" 35%. If you spray bomb, Krylon's "Italian Olive" is as good as any. G
  6. The entire thing reeks of pyramid scheme to me. Show me kits, ready to be delivered, then I will put money down. G
  7. http://copcardotcom.fotki.com/photographs_of_greg/fgs/foreign_departments/zreturntomayberrymo.html I'd call this a Malibu. G
  8. Nicely done! We took delivery of a fleet of baby blue '81 Ford Fairmonts one time. Thankfully I was detached out of the district and only drove one a few times. We later received baby blue Ford LTD II's in the traffic division as highway cars. Thank goodness I was a motor officer........................ G
  9. The LAPD Mickey Mouse ears set up was used most likely because that's probably what was on the lot at the time of filming. LAPD used steady burn red to the front and flashing amber to the rear. Return to Mayberry featured a black/white '79 or '80 Chevrolet Malibu 9C1. That car had a red/blue Twinsonic light bar. All the rest except that '59 Ford previously mentioned had the single red rotating beacon on the roof. G
  10. Here's one you old sea dogs will get. Give a newbie a rag and a can of Brasso and tell them to polish the "Navigator's balls".................. G
  11. Way too funny! I totally agree about the "bullet proof" and "road manners" comments. I had a couple of lengthy pursuits in these cars and credit the vehicle for my success. Slightly heavy on the front end but once you got used to that, great car. G
  12. Try riding a BMW flat twin. Runs like the hounds of hell are chasing it, sounds like a manic sewing machine whilst doing so.............................. G
  13. Saw a '29 roadster body on '32 rails. Full fenders and a sweet sounding small block. G
  14. Work all night, sleep during the day and all this happens! Looking good folks. I received some PE in the mail so I pulled this one down off the shelf and went at it with a vengence. This is the Tamiya Tiger I, "Ausfuhrung Afrika" . From the box it most closely resembles a Tiger fron sPzAbt 504 which was the second Tiger Battalion in Tunisia. The famous Bovington Tiger, #131, now starring in "Fury", was from that battalion. Since there is a wealth of references I am building Tiger 131. All the cables I made myself from copper wire and aluminum tube. Fittings are Eduard PE, white styrene is also scratch. G
  15. Airwolf ALF G
  16. Considering the level of work you put into in this I'd scratchbuild a base just because! Go get a sheet of cork, cut it into scale size cobbles. Glue these to your base of choice then use plaster or better yet Hydrocal to fill in between the cobbles. Keep it thin and in the gaps. Makes for a great representation of stone or brick when painted appropriate colors. G
  17. 1994 Chevrolet Caprice 9C1 with the LT1 engine option. After 15 years of driving the worst of the worst, this car reaffirmed my beliefs as to what a copcar should be. This was only the second year we had cars with AM/FM radios, power windows and seats and, Gasp, CARPET! I kept mine for two and a half years, which is an eternity for a copcar. G
  18. Ah yes the good doctor, number four I believe. aka Tom Baker. G
  19. I love me some Corsair! Danny I'll say it again, your Batman rocks. That is a superb display. Brayden, jump on here! G
  20. The Walmart on the east side of Henderson has a good selection of kits and they were on sale. I picked up the Revell '29 Pickup, the Snap Tite Police Expedition and the Revell repop of the old Monogram M48A2. G
