Hello Everybody! With this post, my photos will have caught up with my building so it may be a little while before the next update. The front bumper and grille assembly is done! As always, thanks for looking and please feel free to comment. David G.

Dang Jim, you're just marching along with this build. Lots of pretty little details! David G.

I built one of these back in 2016 and it was not the greatest casting but I don't remember it being this bad. The molds must have really degraded in the time since I built mine. Excellent detail work you're doing on this one Greg. I'm very interested to see where you go with it. David G.

Thank you Steve! I'm rather happy with the way it turned out. I just wish I could have done a little more of a detailed engraving on the front of the siren. That sounds like a great idea Jeff. Replace the surf boards with ladders, it already comes with roof racks! David G.

Nice work realigning the frame rails. David G.

Wow, sorry about the accident. Or as the surfers would call it, a "wipe-out". But as you said, it's an opportunity to correct the wheel issues. The decals look okay, with the cracking maybe you could go with a more weathered approach. It is an older truck. Best of luck pulling it all back together. David G.

I really enjoyed following your work on this in the WIP thread. You've made more of this kit than was ever intended Mike! It's got to be the best version of this kit ever rendered. Excellent work! David G.

Who doesn't love a mock-up? Let's see yours!

AMT's '57 Ford. I flipped the front spindles to drop it a little but left the rear stock "model" height. I think it has a nice rake. David G. -

Love the wheel choice for this. They really work well with the Pinto body. David G. -

Hello Everybody! Slowly, the work on the Surf Shark ambulance conversion continues. After all that work on the siren I did a little more research and learned that this type of siren/PA unit was invented at Motorola sometime in 1965. Prior to that, old fashioned mechanical sirens were used. I found some parts box greebles that I think I can use to whip up a reasonable representation. After removing the chrome plating a little fiddling and some filing revealed this combination to me. I plan to file some grooves aka sound holes in the face of the new siren part. Here is the base unit assembled complete with sound hole grooves filed. I enhanced the grooves with a black Sharpie as I went along filing them in so I could monitor my progress. After a little cleanup and a short spray of Rustoleum Chrome paint, here is the result. It's a little crude but I think it conveys the image well enough. As always, thanks for taking the time to look and please feel free to comment. David G.

The chassis looks great so far! Clever indeed your solution to the toe-in problem. Maybe they should have made the kit with adjustable tie rod ends. In 1/16 scale, it could be done! David G. -
I was wondering how you planned to work those frame rails back into the build. It looks like it's taking a bit of styrene magic. Impressive work on this Paul! David G.
