  1. Well I bought these today. I'm giddy with anticipation of arrival. ?
  2. Thanks for the input guys. I'd actually thought of using steam, but wasn't sure how much is too much. I ended up getting impatient and used my hands and a very blunt blade to pull them apart. As it turns out, only the gluey substance between the decals printed on the sheet was stuck to the back of the other sheet. So I spent a while prying them apart. Ended up losing one decal. That being said, I'm not sure they are not all discolored anyway. We shall see. Thanks for the tip. Is this a member or an internet business?
  3. I recently acquired a well used Entex 1/8 John Player Special Lotus kit. It seems mostly complete but I haven't taken a full inventory just yet. One thing I have noticed is that the decal sheets are partially fused, I assume from improper humid storage. One sheet is fine, it's the one that is behind it that is concerning. Both sheets are unused and I'd really be interested to know if anyone has had success in separating sheets like this with minimal damage. Thanks for any suggestions.
  4. Very nicely detailed. It's a shame they are so hard to see once installed.
  5. Wow! Really great work on all of those.
  6. Just the right amount of weathering in the engine bay. Well done.
  7. I read somewhere back in the 1980's that the only was to be sure to get rid of the ghosting is to grind the logo off and fill. I don't know, I've never tried it.
  8. Man what a yacht!
  9. My kind of car! Thanks for sharing!
  10. looks pretty good actually.
  11. Hey Bob, I have some ancient artists pastels that seem to work pretty well. I've actually resorted to using real dirt or dust and that works fine too as long as you make sure to keep it in scale.
  12. Tax refunds always seem like found money until you realize the things that need doing.?
  13. Amazing woman there!
  14. That is some impressive modeling! You can almost feel the dirt on that bike.
  15. Amazingly life-like!
  16. Welcome! Great looking models. I know what you mean about the older cars. They still looked like "stock" cars.
  17. This is going to be something...someday. It's the old Revell 1/8 Chopped Hog with some parts from an Electra Glide. The Hog is just too ugly to build stock. ?
  18. Thanks. It is a great truck and I don't have any plans to do anything paint and body-wise. I have put new shocks on it and new upholstery, carpet, visors, etc. Texas sun is hard on anything not metal. Next plans are to replace the flat glass (I have tinted glass that came with the truck), windshield is new. While I'm at it I'll get the window channels, wing window rubber and associated hardware.
  19. Here's what I drive for fun. Currently has the original 240 6-banger. Just a little rust in the bed and a small hole in the core support. Plans are for a 5.0 or 351 Windsor. I have the original sales order and plates from the dealership in north Texas. The picture of the front is right after I bought it a few years ago.
  20. Very nice save. I've always wanted a unibody but I had to settle for a short bed due to prices.
  21. This comment made me remember something painful. I'm ashamed to say that I, not once, but twice have thrown away my entire collection of kits. First time was when I went to college. I was a "grown up" and didn't have time for them...I thought. Last time was in the early 1980s. I was making a cross country move and simply didn't have room for them. I didn't have time or a method to sell them and had no friends who wanted them, so into the dumpster they went. I remember cringing just a bit when I actually compressed the kits by standing on them to make more room. Not my finest hour...
