  1. Welcome Kierlan, whereabouts are you?
  2. It took me a whole year to convince Geoff to do a Muscle car, there was a triple build elsewhere with myself Geoff and Angelo, it was great fun. I'll eventually get him to make a Rod, probably a T bucket.....
  3. Thanks JC, I always thought that was curbside for some reason. Even with the US bumpers and head lights it looks good. Has anyone got a spare one for swop/trade etc?
  4. Or just get some Isopon P38 at the local motor factor Pat. It's good stuff, dries in 15 minutes and sands down very well. Looking good there Geoff.
  5. Rubbing alcohol is called Surgical Spirit over here Gary, I think you can buy it in a chemist/pharmacy shop, I forgot to ask the last time I was in, I think it's 70% alcohol.
  6. I'm assuming you're using Halfords or Holts rattle cans or similar? You'll need to get all the wax off it before you clear it. Now, I never had to do it but hot water and Fairy liquid and an old toothbrush should shift it I'd imagine. I'd spoon test everything you've already done, try to get it off and see how you get on. Maybe Geoff knows, if he's looking in.
  7. The valve covers on the 'Rover' V8 aren't at an angle like that though, that's why I ask. I'll have a look for that site on the Buick/Rover 3.5 litre engine. I'm not sure if it's still available, the pics I saw looked very nice for white metal.
  8. Is this the same as the old Buick 215 all aluminium engine they sold to Rover back in the day JC that went on to power all sorts of things like TVRs etc.? There was a company in the UK producing white metal kits of it in 1/24 or 1/25 as far as I remember.
  9. It was 1300cc with 55hp Sean. The old man had a Saab 900 Turbo back then. Both were new cars and I'd just turned 17 so I just had my provisional drivers licence. I was only allowed to wash the Saab. Even when he was away on business I could never find the keys, I think he brought them with him! LOL
  10. Me either. It's a Golf Mk2 shell if that helps, I learned how to drive in my Mom's one.
  11. Sorry Tomo, I couldn't help it. She's seems nice from any interviews I've seen on TV.
  12. She's murder on the dance floor LOL
  13. I met him years ago in a hotel carpark down at Goodwood when the Revival was on very early one morning. When there's all sorts of engines starting at 6 am, you couldn't help but wake up with a smile on your face. He was a nice guy. Lovely Scooby Douglas.
  14. I saw pics on the web Bob, it just surprises me don't have a proper website. No problem, I'll just go old skule and ring them!
  15. Bob, I've found some information on the Emporium on line, but I can't see an actual website listing their stock anywhere. If my friend built model cars it would be fine as he'd know what to look for, but I'd sort of need to send him in with a list.
  16. Thanks Brian, doesn't seem to much of a selection of car kits.
  17. A friend of mine is coming home for a few weeks, he's actually in Dorchester, but are there any stores in Boston city or the surrounding areas? He's not a model builder, but I can talk him into bringing a couple of kits back for me. Thanks for any help guys.
  18. Ghost flames.
  19. Thanks JC, how goes the Escort?
  20. Thanks guys, it was part of a factory stock group build for prewar cars elsewhere. It nearly killed me to have to build it stock
