You should look up the Mk2 Ford Escort RS 1800 build if you haven't seen it Mitch, it's amazing! Any news on it JC?
-
LOL. I have an NA version, it's not fast, but I never saw a girl going sideways in one at 6000 rpm in second gear. Ever!

The mini Popemobile
dublin boy replied to sjordan2's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
When John Paul visited Ireland in '79, I was 10 and saw him at Dublin Airport. Here's a pretty bonkers statistic, I million people attended a Mass in the Phoenix Park in Dublin. The population of the whole country back then was less than 3.5 million! We were all good little Catholics back then. LOL -
Best of luck JC, that's not an easy conversion. Even building the Minicraft out of box is difficult enough, with the front metal axle. I nearly threw it out of the window several times. I'm sure it'll be gorgeous when you're finished though

LHD v RHD USA
dublin boy replied to Earl Marischal's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Sweden went LHD literally over night in 1967 as far as I remember. The UK, Ireland, Australia. New Zealand, Japan and a few other countries still have right hand drive, or correct hand drive as we call it -
Car modelling in the UK
dublin boy replied to Earl Marischal's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
It's much the same this side of the Irish sea, but I can get some amt/round 2 and Revell US kits in Dublin. I asked the owner of Marks models here why no selection of car kits, he simply said nobody buys them, it's mostly Military modelling. As Jim mentioned above Widgetman aka Al always has current revellogram kits listed, he's a good guy and a mate of mine up in Newcastle. -
There's more than just us two Harry, the takeover is well underway.

You couldn't really be further away from me! LOL What are you looking for? Marks models have a good selection, they have Aoshima stuff recently too. Google them.

Nice model. I agree with JC, the pace notes look great. Any chance of telling us how you made them?
-
LOL, no harm in trying! It would look good though, the V6 in your Opel GT kit might be a better fit, six injector stacks coming through the bonnet. Crank up your Skype later on Geoff.

Tamiya Candy lime green Geoff, and a V8, tubbed rear end, slicks and wheelie bars.

Will you have the four spot lamps? I think it looks better without them, just my opinion. -
Another reason to like older cars!

I always assumed you could drive an MOT failure home or to a garage for repair in England Pat? Maybe this is something new. We have the NCT (National Car Test) for years now here, much the same as the MOT, but you have to bring the jam jar to Official test centres, while you can get your MOT almost anywhere in the UK and at short notice, we have to book for weeks in advance. -

I tried to send you a video, looked like it worked, but it's not anywhere in PM's.
