  1. I'd be afraid to paint that too after all the work you did! Do you use rattlecans or an airbrush JC?
  2. Nice, is that the final stance JC? If I lived near you I'd have to break in during the middle of the night to paint that, it's crying out for a bit of blue!
  3. Halfords Auto acrylic Vauxhal/Opell soverign gold, european GM colour
  4. Looks good JC, the shell on my Revell version is rough, it's actually sharp in places. Are you going to paint all the side window trim black, or just the window rubbers?
  5. Thankfully, I don't have to strip paint too much anymore, but I always found fresh brake fluid works faster than the stuff you've already used to strip paint. It will work, but it's full of stuff from the old paint and takes much more scrubbing with a toothbrush.
  6. Well, at least we cleared up the differences, not that it helps you in your search Bill.
  7. Yes, he asked for late model wheels as per his picture, they are different to the Minilite style early wheels fitted to most NA Mx-5s. I'll go take a pic of my 1/1 wheels to show the difference. Both kits come with this wheel.
  8. Both the Tamiya and the rare ROG (full detail with engine) versions both have the standard 7 spoke Minilite type wheels.
  9. Just pretend you can't see the front stripes
  10. Springs look great JC. How's your propshaft?
  11. Nice, I built a Tamiya Mini for my missus, she wanted a checkered roof, I did my best...LOL
  12. Thanks Ray. Looks like everyone else hates it
  13. First Bike build and probably my last, these things are so big they make my model cars look tiny. There was a group build going on elsewhere so I decided to give it a go, box stock. I honestly can't ride a motorbike, so I know nothing about them. Kit goes together well though.
  14. Thanks guys.
  15. Thanks Tommy. I think only the very early 911 Turbos had some chrome trim. They might have even been US spec 930's as they were called over there. Hows the kit supply in Norway?
  16. Thanks guys! The kit comes with those wheels as well as a set of fuchs alloys.
  17. The black trim was great fun.. and is far from perfect around the 'smile' rubber in particular. This one is pretty much curbside, but went together very well, almost Tamiya quality. Tamiya candy lime green rattle can, cleared and polished out. Click on the small pics.
  18. Did you start it up yet JC?
  19. Hijack all you want mate, that's what makes the thread interesting.
  20. Many thanks Gentlemen.
  21. Small parts are easier to brush paint on the sprue, you can touch up the paint after you take them off, tweezers are helpful here. Mini clamps are great for keeping things together while glue dries, or use tamiya tape depending on the part. Use white glue on clear parts. Very basic advice, but I hope it helps, works for me anyway.
  22. Thanks guys Yep, full engine, very nice too. I know what you're thinking JC (I think...) but you'd need a gearbox for the RS 1600, the Pinto box wouldn't be correct, but it might do the job
  23. Old Tamiya kit, the decals for the gold pinstripes broke up as soon as they hit the water. Older Tamiya decals can be a bit hit and miss. Nice little kit though, with correct hand drive too...
