  1. Nice job on the Silencer JC. Hard to find original Tarmac spec videos...
  2. I often think about this JC. I'd still like, say, a 63 Corvette or a Boss 302, (insert your own car here..) with modern running gear as a car you could use day to day.
  3. Be careful Geoff or I'll send you a Hot Rod kit and make you build it Anyway, my Brummie accent is better than your Dublin one. lol
  4. I knew we could get you speaking proper English eventually JC
  5. 67 Eldorado is my favourite, I had a die cast of it when I was a kid. Many years later I was visiting my friend in San Francisco, there was one parked in the avenues, dull black paint, but still nice.
  6. That'd be called a Silencer JC. LOL Nice work.
  7. Looking good. The final versions should be really nice.
  8. Both seem correct JC, the black might add a bit of contrast.
  9. The cam cover would have been black back in the day I think, the sump also. The rest was Aluminium alloy, which the kit gives by default with the swirly silver plastic
  10. Meh, I know where everything is. Organisation just shows a lack of vision Geoff I'd be opening and closing drawers all day in your model room, I'd get nothing done. LOL
  11. You know what my one looks like Geoff. It's still the same
  12. I worked for Corkmen for so long I have a slight Cork accent now Floyd. LOL
  13. You've fogotten the double under whatyaflab rocker devise they used on the Circurt of Ireland stages JC Great work, can't wait to see some paint on it. I assume we'll have plug wires at least? Keep it up.
  14. Welcome Irishcelt! Where does the screen name come from? Floyd Hicks jr. doesn't sound very Irish or Celtic
  15. Thanks Guys.
  16. Might look nice, but I was having terrible trouble getting the chassis and engine bay test fitted up into the shell. I took the engine bay back out and had a better look at it and yep, now it fits. Sometimes I shouldn't be left alone with glue and paint. LOL
  17. Nice tute on how to build old AMT kits Geoff Seriously though, that bonnet fit isn't good for a newish kit, something's way off somewhere.
  18. I can't get CHiPs over here on youtube apart from the episode with the hearse... I watched the show as a kid, don't remember the car. Anyone got video or pics?
  19. To be fair Jason, the MK 2 RS2000 was the fastest pure mass production model available. It had the Pinto OHC 2 litre engine giving 110 hp. Got to 60 in about 8.6 seconds and was all out at 112 ish. That's not going to impress many V8 Muscle car geezers, but we have different roads over here and these things would actually be faster point to point than a small block mid sized car while the big blocks are just understeering into the first ditch! They're more fun than muscle. If you've ever really driven the balls off an early MX5-Miata it's a bit like that with more torque. The 200+ bhp cars must be amazing to drive.
  20. I go over to the UK quite often. There are two four door Mk 2s almost next door that I only got to see lately. The 4 door shell is cheaper and easier to find. Both are running 1800cc DOHC Zetecs, I thought I saw throttle bodies, but the guys said no, they're on Bike carbs. Never got pics. Easy 150 bhp. There's no room under the bonnet for a brake servo! The whole conversion comes as a kit, less the engine and box. One crashed Mondeo for the engine and a Sierra gearbox and you're good to go. They sound fantastic and go really well, but look like the car your Grandmother went shopping in
  21. Do you mean that some Group 4 rally Escorts were injected? You learn something new every day, I thought they all ran twin 40 or 45 Webers, goes to show what I know. LOL You're a font of knowledge on the MK 2's JC. Were they more powerful or just better running? No news on the Minilites yet then I assume.
  22. Those cans of plaid paint are very hard to get, almost as difficult to get as a bucket of steam Looking good.
