disabled modeler replied to Casey's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Id be in heaven if they reissued it as the 72-75 kits were like with the 3 in 1 building versions...been waiting decades to get to relive some of my favorite memories of my childhood..cant wait..!!! -
Post retirement modeling
disabled modeler replied to misterNNL's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Well for me being forced into early retirement way before I would be ready from my accident I find now that i have all the time I need I dont have the funds needed to. With my age and health issues I have a clock I am up against as some have said too with progressive nerve damage to continue to enjoy my life long passion for building and restoring them..has me worried at times. At least I know mine will stay in the family once Im gone so I do not have to worry about that. I cant imagine not getting the ones I do have restored while I can and when the time comes where I cant build or restore them any more...scary thought. -
Them old Coors KWs are good kits...nice scores Dan.

There are many that Round2 could profit well from if they were reissued in the original or a slightly modified version. Id love to see some they have not seen the light of day in over 30 years make a comeback myself...and fulfill some dreams I have like others. Everything has its cost to do but new tooling verses restoring old tooling seems to be the factor most times sadly.

Finally some progress on my 1979 Trans Am.
disabled modeler replied to Dragonhawk1066's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I had to sell off my 1 to 1 75 TA after my accident in 96 to cover some bills...like to broke my heart to...specially since the guy that hit me had no insurance and nothing to gain. I had planed to keep her forever. Now..I am just hoping I can find enough stuff to make a replica of her to have. -

disabled modeler replied to SfanGoch's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Nice work on the save project... Nice builds everyone else too...just beautiful. For me one I have to do someday is a 60 Desoto wagon like my parents had once...and yes it had a Hemi..LOL.. -
Dig it Snake..! I have a soft spot for the GTOs...we once owned a 70,71,72,73,74. We had a lot of cool old Ponchos in the family once.

Welcome Kevin..! I cant imagine a day without plastic...LOL.. Best advise anyone ever gave me is to treat every part as if it were a model itself and building is no race..build at your own pace. I understand budget issues all too well too. There are many very helpful nice people here.

40 years!
disabled modeler replied to MrObsessive's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Bill.... Very cool story thanks for the memories too...LOL.. I started around the age of 6 or 7 years old when my dad got me my first kit...was hooked instantly. Now at 54 years old I find the memories are so much more important to me of those days building with my dad back then. I wish I could find/afford some we had built together again to have that got lost over all the years. I am lucky enough to have whats left of my dads old collection I have been trying to find stuff so I can restore them with since a tornado here in 2011 where many of his and mine were damaged or lost. Got to hang on to those memories and dreams...its what keeps us going.
