That is cool Scott.... I lost many from my childhood and some of my dads in the 2011 tornado here sadly...some had a huge sentimental value to me sadly. Memories of building with my dad feel gone since they were lost. been on a quest ever since to see if I can replace any of them.

I need a MPC Dodge van that body style...71 to 76? to make a replica of one I once owned. It was a factory custom..thinking a Goodtimes Conversion if I remember right. Mine was a 75 but any the right body style would work I think. back when I was a kid I tried to get my hands on any of the MPC Dodge van kits I could they were great kits with lots of building version options. -
What about promos?
disabled modeler replied to GaryR's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
As many of you already know I love promos just as much as the kits...in some cases the promos offer a version or vehicle you cant get in a kit as well. In many cases kit or promo parts will interchange for the most part with each other. In many cases I actually prefer a promo over the kit just depends on what its of or availability. I love restoring both..its rewarding and helps me pass the time. -
Very nice..!!! I have been wanting to build the same thing for awhile now.

Casey...So true. I had no idea they were reissuing the Dodge LWB pickup kit....I hope its a 3 in 1 like the originals were and a backdated grille. My family owned many of these trucks and i have been on a quest to build family owned replicas for some time now. I got their Gremlin kit hoping to find the needed parts to make it thew earlier small bumper car like my late uncle drove. A friend of mine owns a Gremlin with a beefed up 401ci engine in it...stands up pretty easily.

I have been in that spot before too...some people just cant appreciate anything or a kind gesture . Me I have learned many years ago to appreciate everything no matter how large or small it might be. I have had others send me one wheel cover for one of my old ones I need parts for and needing a set for it one is better than none and I appreciated it very much..and let them know I did...some people just dont get it...???

Chris... I have them boxed up in a big box for storage at the moment had to after the storm here in 2011...my model room lost a few windows. My Craftsman/promo like one is molded in green plastic...the other a kit is molded in white. The green one needs..body and glass. The white kit one needs...glass,body,bumpers,taillights,wheels or covers...chassis is pretty rough. These are just a few from my dads old collection...sadly most of them suffered damage and lost parts in the storm and the list is huge.

1/25 MPC '78 Dodge D-100 Pickup
disabled modeler replied to Casey's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I want to build both the van and pickup seen here...we once owned many of these vans and pickups. It would be great if I could find some to make replicas of them with someday. -
Dan...sadly the molds to the original 66 has been modified to make the stocker with...I feel your pain I have a promo or Craftsman and a kit of the stock one nad cant find parts to repair/restore them with thanks to a tornado here in 2011. We once owned a 66 GS...great car. One might be able to make a stock or close one from the modified stocker kit if they can find the needed parts and repair the body but it wont be easy...I wish you much luck with the project.
