40 years!
disabled modeler replied to MrObsessive's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Bill.... Very cool story thanks for the memories too...LOL.. I started around the age of 6 or 7 years old when my dad got me my first kit...was hooked instantly. Now at 54 years old I find the memories are so much more important to me of those days building with my dad back then. I wish I could find/afford some we had built together again to have that got lost over all the years. I am lucky enough to have whats left of my dads old collection I have been trying to find stuff so I can restore them with since a tornado here in 2011 where many of his and mine were damaged or lost. Got to hang on to those memories and dreams...its what keeps us going. -

Fires destroy 2 resin casters
disabled modeler replied to Gramps46's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
That is such a horrible situation there....my heart goes out to them all and prayers do too. One month before my wife and I got married her mothers house burnt to the ground early one morning...she lost her mom and stepdad in it but at least her three young brothers got out an upstairs widow and were pretty much ok. Going through that with her was very hard..cant imagine what they all are going through. -

AMT and MPC Please Put Out Significant Kits
disabled modeler replied to regular guy's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Me...I appreciate the ones AMT has reissued for us but wish they could/would reissue these for us....been after them for way too long and cant afford the old originals....and we once had these in our family in 1 to 1 scale once... MPC 71-75 Dodge vans MPC 71 Dodge Demon MPC 68,69,70 Bonneville HTs MPC 69,71,72,73 Impalas AMT 71 Pontiac Ventura/Sprint MPC 69,70,71,72 Pontiac Grand Prixs MPC factory stock 70/71 Mercury Cyclone Spoiler or GT AMT 66 Buick Skylark MPC 65,66 Dodge Monacos and others. Being a mostly factory stock builder its easy to see why Id want these plus my family had owned real ones of them once id like to make replicas of them with. -
very cool Mike...! I am a huge fan of the 60s wagons....we need more kits of them.
