  1. Steve.... Very nice...! I have built mint in box old rare kits before. If they are damaged I do the same thing i do with damaged promos if they cant be repaired...build them into something else or another version of one. I have restored some real basket cases though...I just cant let them die...LOL..
  2. Ace... Mine was light green with dark green interior and vinyl top...LOL.. It had a 350ci 4 barrel, auto, power everything...real nice.
  3. Ill try to toss in my thoughts on rare ones. Steve...I couldn't get myself to modify any old kit or model if it can be restored let alone a mint kit. here is my thoughts... Johan 68 Rebel MPC 68/69 Coronets MPC 70/71 Cyclones MPC 69-72 Grand Prix 69 Impala AMT 66 Buick Skylark GS Johan 70 GTX/Roadrunner 67-69 Bonnevilles AMT race team sets MPC 75 Firebird
  4. Ace....I once owned a 70 4 door HT one too was loaded though...nice car. Id like to convert the 70 kit into a sport coupe version with the slanted rear glass like a fastback.
  5. Russ...Your friend is not the only one that is trying to build replicas of the movie vehicles...I am too. Tell him good luck on the search hope you find what he needs.
  6. I try to stay in the very late 50s through 70s body styles but have a few newer ones....77 Cadillac coupe DeVille Johan snap kit...love there snaps.
  7. Chris buddy....there so cool its not funny...we need more campers and bed caps for us all to be able to build they make nice additions to ones collection. Though my scratch building skills are not great I have a few Id like to build someday.
  8. I love the Dodge one....really closer to the one we once owned....
  9. Steve... Great to hear buddy..!
  10. Mike....That Ford pickup is awesome...! Yucky finds.
  11. Very nice Freddy...! well done too.
  12. Mark...Id love to see yours get re-issued...then I could have another family owned one for the collection.
  13. Mark... That is cool...I like it. If you decide not to do anything with it or..? PM me.
  14. Mark....What does your promo look like...?
  15. Looks nice to me buddy........clean build.
  16. Jim....hang in there buddy...I understand how you feel. I have to have a heart cath test once to check my heart and arteries out...had to be very careful for awhile about the site where they cut and went in at. Prayers from here buddy.
  17. Some promos have a plastic, metal, and friction chassis and you do have to be very careful what you use to strip them with....I striped a 60 Ford HT once the plastic cracked and warped badly ruined it. The older promos had a strange weak plastic that was known to warp and get very brittle...shame. I am a nut about them.
  18. Welcome Steven...! I like a bunch of different stuff myself...cars-2door,4door,wagons,vans,pickups,campers,trailers,big trucks, motorhomes, farm and construction related, pleasure and speed boats, scale figures,diorama....factory stock or a version of, custom, showrods,...even some large scale stuff. I mostly like the 60s to mid 80s body styles also into promos and restorations.
  19. Welcome George..! One nice thing about building models is we get to make replicas of the cars/trucks we would have loved to have owned...and the ones that got away we did own.
