  1. Not all builds have to be shinny to be cool....nice work..!
  2. Chris... Nice review Ill have to pick up one soon...thanks!
  3. Harold... I have about 100 of my own from my dads old collection plus many others to work on or restore from the 60s and 70s era who could ask for better ones to work on..? If you want to toss out your stuff that is your choice to there yours....I personally have over a 6 year time period donated around 200 kits, supplies, and hours of help and teaching them ways to build that are helpful to them myself I got from garage sales, second hand stores, antique malls, store clearance, etc.and am happy to do so. No one has ever twisted anyone's arm to donate anything...I am doing it all by myself now. I cant help but notice your from the same area the others were from that got banded...?
  4. I build some and just polish the plastic out well myself...get good results with it too. Automotive polishes work ok for this just using a very little at a time it goes a long way on plastic and looks great with a bit of work.
  5. That set kit has a lot of nice scale figures...too bad I missed them when I could have gotten one.
  6. Welcome Tim....! Yep the only place we have is Hobby Lobby too....ours rarely gets any of the new or reissued kits in but has a ton of die-cast,military,and ships.
  7. Miles... I think it would look ok on one.
  8. Welcome Roger..from Illinois as well...were glad to have you here with us.
  9. Harold...Yes there was...just a few trouble makers trying to start drama in a place where were supposed to have fun and share our love of building with others at. I wont let anything like that stop me from helping anyone when I can or anyone else that wanted to.
  10. Jan...NICE build..! I liked this kit back in the 70s still have most of mine need to restore it sometime....think it did have a ski outfit option too...?
  11. Welcome Randal...! Building is a addiction that is fun and helps pass time...enjoy it. I have been for over 40 years...LOL...
  12. True Harold but for some donating kits, etc. to others is its own reward knowing there donated items will help make others happy and give them something to do. I donate kits, etc. to a disabled builders group when I can just to help out but cant do it often and yes it can get expensive. I have also sent others a needed part or two for their project or build....and often in return if I need something and they have one they will send it to me as well. Trading has to get both parties something they could use or like...some things old or new are not available in other areas and it helps others get things they are looking for. I am happy to trade with others do it all the time.
  13. Those were cool looking cars Tommy...nice find..!
  14. Tim... My 78 annual did not have a option for building it as a 4x4 was 2wd only. Dan...COOL... years ago I made a standard cab duallie pickup using those bed fenders too...they work great for it with a few mods. My 84 is a standard cab long bed with snow plow...I plan to use the Fall Guy issue kit and find a extra bed, frame and plow to build mine from then convert it into a Chevy and need to convert it into a bench seat truck.
  15. Thanks..! Glad to be a positive influence or of help. yes I have been through a lot and still going through things that challenge me everyday but if I just give up what good would that be...?...none. I have never been a quitter and hope never to get to that point...long as I can fight everything I will.
  16. I typed a long message and hit the send button to have it all disappear not long ago...other than that had a couple times where the post loading was pretty slow...?
  17. I have to agree shipping can cost you a bit depending on where its going to. I trade a lot because I can get something I want that i cant around here or that is not easy to find. Its also nice to be able to help another modeler get something that means something to them and get something you wanted in return...helps everyone in the end.
  18. Your most welcome Scott....it was a pleasure to deal with you.
  19. I here you there Chris....makes it worse when you need parts for old ones from the 60s/70s. I have a huge list of parts I need to find I can afford or trade for from someone...someone has to have them laying around in a parts box or parts car...just have to find them.
  20. Same to you Scott....it should be there today.
