  1. Dan... I wish my 84 was in as good as shape as yours...and a crew cab...LOL...
  2. Nice build..! I like the older trucks myself...the Western Star is one of my favorites.
  3. Just got my part of a trade deal with (unclesctt58)....great guy to deal with...!
  4. Thanks Jim...Ill have to look for some then...you can make decals...?...that is cool.
  5. Very very nice Jim...! Love it..! I have the old Johan one to restore which kit has the body side decals in it...???...Ill need to find some.
  6. Very nice...!
  7. WOW...! I thought it was a real car at first....just simply beautiful work..! Id like to try some large scale kits but cant find or afford the ones Id like to try out.
  8. Thanks guys... ! Building is supposed to be fun or relaxing...it helps me pass all the time and keeps me sane....I think...LOL.. The nice thing about building is you have the choice to make it what ever you want or think of. Id like to make several of these kind of builds have one that has been stalled for awhile I have to get back to sometime of a 64 Dodge 330...I still have a lot to learn yet on weathering.
  9. Cool idea....kind of reminds me of the police cars from Mad Max movie some other than its for rescue or fires.
  10. Alan... I remember those wheels....nice ones at that. Years ago I had the MPC Chevy pickup/Dodge van/and Dodge pickups that had the bikes in them...those were great kits..!
  11. Great to hear Vince buddy...!.......prayers will continue buddy.
  12. K.... Thanks it was a long but fun build...my first like this. I have more planed for the future...maybe even a diorama of a old junkyard...?
  13. Dwayne... Me I spend very little on them or as little as possible due to my very very low income. Sure I will from time to time put extras on or in them to add detail, etc. but I also will make my own parts sometimes or convert a kit into another version of the same car. I love to restore old models and promos but due to my budget I have to wait till I can find or afford what they need if i can find them. Id say one has to look at what the model or promo is worth to the builder and what kind of budget one has to work with. On my budget I have learned to be very creative in finding items for detailing a model...old electronics, etc can offer wiring, etc. that can be used.
  14. Very nice...! I have one under this thread too of a 64 Chevy junkyard truck. Nice attention to detail well done...I like it...!
  15. Me too....I remember building those with the Dodge trucks and van kits.
  16. So true Michael....His old collection was much larger but a breakin here many were stolen and damaged. He had about twice that many so did I he collected promos and unbuilt kits...I am very lucky to have what is left...some will remain the way they are others will have to get restored/repaired. No one else wanted any of them...there was no way I was going to let them get tossed out. I still have the first model he got me and some day I will restore it too...Johan Haulin Hearse.
  17. I have my dads old ones too...got to restore them they got damaged and some parts lost to them...maybe close to 140 of them but all need something...bummer. Myself I have maybe 75 built and 20 restoration projects and a few unbuilt kits but have no real count of them. I have been at it for 40+ years too.
  18. Eric... I like the color on the Charger looks very nice..! here is the best advise anyone ever gave me on building...(treat every part as if it were a model itself and building is no race take your own time on them)...it will pay off in your builds. I have had some builds or restorations that took me over 3 months to complete. Looks like your off to a good start to me.
  19. Joe...I have been through a lot myself...if I can do it she will in time you just have to help her get through the tough times and keep her feeling positive on her out look....the only things she cant do is what she thinks she cant attitude makes a lot of difference it helped me get to where I am right now. Once someone is injured and recovering they have to learn new ways to do many things...all just takes time buddy.
  20. I build all year long but in the warmer months other things can take time away from building at times. I enjoy being outside in nice weather even if its just sitting in a lawn chair for awhile.
  21. I agree with you all but I like all brands of vehicles pretty much. I do agree we need more of these though... 66-69 Bonnevilles and Grand Prix 66-70 Cadillacs 64-70 Chryslers 68-74 Dodge cars 68-75 Dodge trucks and vans 60-75 wagons 60s AMCs 64-69 Buicks there are a lot of great choices that would be great to have.
  22. Joe...That is great to hear buddy!...It helps with recovery. After my accident I had to learn quite a few things and new ways to do things again...tell her to be positive...any improvement is a good thing. State of mind makes a lot of difference.
  23. Same here...but I give them a try.
