I built this model 6 years ago as the Memphis Beat '64 Pontiac GTO driven by Jason Lee as Det. Dwight Hendricks. When I finished the build, the show was cancelled and the model sat on the shelf ignored by me since then. I have been looking at this model for the past couple of weeks, wondering if I should do anything to it or just put it away in a box somewhere. That all changed when I discovered a set of Pontiac wheels and knock-offs in my parts box this morning. The wheels and knock-offs came with the '64 GTO kit and I had put them away for a future use on something. I took the Poncho apart this morning and will wash everything, repaint whatever needs repainting, and reassemble the GTO. More to come...

The Story As Chief Banning drives up Rt. 241, the old police cruiser wasn't heating up fast enough to create any heat for the interior. McNally sat in the back seat shivering and wondering where they were taking him. After a few minutes, the Chief turned off of Rt. 241 onto Collis Rd. and drives a couple of miles before turning off onto a snow cover dirt path for a couple hundred yards before stopping. He gets out of the cruiser and opens the back door and the Chief says, "End of the road for you McNally, get out!" McNally gets out of the back seat slowly still shivering and is lead into an opening and told to stand next to a large mound of earth. Chief Banning stands next to Ed and they both pull their revolvers from their holsters and the Chief says, "You've stuck your nose in where it doesn't belong. This is where you are going to die." The Build I got the Bronco body decaled and foiled. I'll let this dry for a couple of days and then start clearcoating with Testors One Coat Wet Look Clear. McNally will return...

The Story The following morning finds McNally being pulled off of his bunk as usual and then being dragged outside into the cold morning air. Everything is wearing a new 3 inch coat of snow as the Boston PI is escorted to a running Bolton's Pride Police Cruiser without a coat and he is shivering. Chief Banning and Ed get into the car after securing McNally in the back seat and then they drive out of the parking lot and northbound on Route 241. The Build It's been a while since I have worked on the Bronco, so I am back at it for a bit. I choose an aftermarket air filter and applied the factory engine decal on top and painted the filter flat white. The windows have been installed into the top. I painted the engine compartment with Model Master Flat Black lacquer and as the paint dried, it cracked. I had forgotten that I don't like this flat black as it is quite thick. I sanded and scraped much of the paint. I think I have some Tamiya TS-29 Semi Gloss Black left so I'll give that a try. McNally will return...

Thanks Ron! I am taking my time building this TBird so I don't muck up anything. You say that you have built three of them, did you have any issues during assembly?

Photo bucket: Class action suit?
mrmike replied to BigTallDad's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm glad to be free of Photobucket! I have struggled with the slow response of the site and the ads galore. The whole situation could have been handled better, but they shot themselves in the foot. I have all my pictures on CDs and thumb drives, so I was willing to let my pictures go. Class Action Law Suit, no thanks. Not worth the effort. -
I got the body, hood, and rear seat cover (not shown) into a coat of primer in prep for paint. I painted parts of the chassis with Model Master Acryl Guards Red.I painted the engine this morning with Tamiya TS-49 Bright Red. More to come...

If I had known to look farther down the page, I would have seen this and would have entered this CBP. This is my slump buster, the Foose 2013 Dodge Challenger SRT8. I did a little detail painting on the chassis and interior and lowered the suspension. Other than that, I built it out-of-box.

A subject you don't see too often and you did a great job on it!

I though the common sense gene pool was starting to fill up again, but it is still dry!
If you still want to get more out of your model building, join a model club!!!

I just used a fine-point black Sharpie and just drew the line around the edge of the whitewall, which is plastic and has a slight beveled edge to it. I've done this to several sets of these tires over the years, so it has become fairly easy to do.

Thanks Jeremy and Martin! I decided to paint the chassis to see what the Testors One Coat Lacquer White Lightning paint would look like. I like it! I got these bits from a Classic Plastic Model Club member long after he threw his TBird against the wall. He trashed the body and used the engine in another model. I'll salvage the photoetch from the dash and seatbelts for my TBird. More to come..

This is the Revell Foose 2013 Challenger SRT8. I needed something to build that didn't require painting the body. It's nice kit that could be kitbashed with the Revell 2009 Challenger SRT8 kit if you want added detail.

I'm not 100% sure if I am going to use a wraparound windshield just yet. It is an idea that I have in mind. Thanks! Progress on the TBird has been slow to say the least. I got the wheels and tires assembled. I didn't like the wide whitewall on the tire, so I used a black Sharpie on the insert and narrowed the whitewall itself. Now I need to add a black wash to the wheels. I got the front seats together, but I need to sand the edges before I paint them. The engine has been assembled. I have a distributor from MAD that I will be using for this build. More to come...

Since Photobucket wants to extort $400 for the purpose of posting pictures of my models, I have started an account with IMGUR and have reposted the photos of my current projects. I will not repost all of my previous projects.

I have switch to a new photohosting site since Photobucket wants a $400 extortion to be able to post pictures. I have reposted my pictures on my current builds, but I will not repost all of my previous builds.

I have been in a slump for almost two weeks now and I am trying to dig myself out of it. My wife Wanda bought me this kit a few months ago and after reading the instructions, I decided to build it. Not much painting involved and it gives me the building time I need. The engine block and the wheels. I had to order another front tire since they included three rears and one front tire. The exhaust tips were painted silver, so I painted them with my Molotow Liquid Chrome pen. More to come...

It's no hackjob. I got the email from Photobucket this morning. It was posted on their website about a change in Terms In Service for sometime now and now all my pictures posted here and on other forums are gone. 3rd Party Hosting is only available with the top plan that they offer. 3rd Party Hostong is when you post a link from Photobucket onto a forum or webpage and an image is to appear.

I do see myself as a supporter by steering others who don't have a photohosting site to Photobucket. I've been doing this for years. I also realize that what I am doing doesn't generate any monetary income for them, just giving them another member who may or may not pay them for their service. This all comes at a time when my funds are low and I don't have the $400 for them to continue hosting my pictures for a year. This whole thing has made me angry and I am trying to adjust, and yes, vent a little bit here.
-
After 12 years of being a loyal Photobucket user, they want me to fork over $400 a year for the ability to be able to post my model car pictures on this or any other forum or website. I am retired and I cannot afford this kind of extortion! I'll find another free photohosting site and post my pictures from there. I won't be reposting my pictures from the new site since I have been a member here for 8 years and it would be a monumental task. I want to tell PB my displeasure with their actions, but they don't have any working links to customer support or service. I understand that they are a business, but when you offer a free photohosting service, you don't go and pull the rug out from under your supporters. OK, I'll get off my soapbox now.

Thanks Randy!

Thanks Jeremy! It's coming along slowly and I have to get this off the bench soon!
-
Thanks Ron and Steve! Steve, I have the engine completed and installed into the chassis so I won't by wiring it and I am going with the fuel injection unit. Smoothed out the first couple of coats of paint and applied two more coats. More to come...

The Story A while later, McNally comes to lying on the cold concrete floor. With his good eye open he looks out through the cell bars while trying to sit up against the cell bunk and he sees Chief Banning leaning against the wall holding a bag of ice over his knuckles. "You've got a hard head, but you need to tell me why you were talking to the Tate's," says the Chief. Again McNally says what he said two days ago, "I ain't tellin' you nuthin' coppa'!" Chief Banning kicks the cell door and walks out of the cell block. The Build With the exception of touchups, the chassis is complete. Since the Bronco comes with a trailer hitch, I went and drilled a hole and inserted a ball head pin with the pin shaft cut down for a hitch ball. What's a trailer hitch without a trailer hitch ball?!!! McNally will return...
