  1. For spray cans I'd have to say the Tamiya spray is about as nice as it gets for black. Has nice gloss to it and aprays really nice right out of the can. Warm it up and shake the heck out of it before and during spraying and you'll get a nice job out of it.
  2. Very nice! One question...why the Future and Tamiya clear. Never heard of anyone doing that, but it sure looks nice!
  3. I usually go two parts brass and one part titanium...sometimes I might add a bit of aluminum to ligheten up or maybe a tiny drop of dark flat green military color to green it up a tad...
  4. Very nice build!
  5. On a scale of 1 to 10 that scores an 11 for the "Cool Factor"!!
  6. Awesome build Mike!
  7. I've been waiting to see this one finished and I ain't disappointed...that rod is SWEET! You gonna be at NNL East Matt?
  8. Thanks for sharing Lyle...see you at the banquet!
  9. Great pics Bill...thanks for posting. Looks like another big turnout...seems like it was jusy=t a few months ago that the meetings had the same few regulars and only a handful of models on the table. Now every month seems like attendance is bigger and bigger! Sorry I missed todays...see ya next month for sure!
  10. I am a maintenance mechanic for the local housing authority. What that means is I'm a maintenance guy working in the projects. I do a little bit of everything...plumbing (all you need to know there is ###### runs downhill and don't chew your fingernails), electrical, carpentry, HVAC...a regular Jack-of-all-trades, and master of none. I really do not enjoy my job but it pays o.k. and I get a ton of vacation. In 18 years I've seen it all. Over a dozen dead bodies that I've found, cockroaches that actually reach up and open doors because they are too big to crawl under, fires, floods, shootings, stabbings...two suicides. I've pulled things out of sewer lines that you wouldn't believe (and some I'd like to forget). I've seen houses so dirty you wouldn't believe people lived there...once a constable caught menengitis just opening the front door to serve an eviction notice. Fun, huh? By the way...one part of the Housing Authoritys mission statement is "..to provide a clean, safe work enviroment". I still get a kick out of that...oh well, it's a job. I get decent insurance, it pays the bills and every once in a while there's enough left over to buy a model kit or two...
  11. Another Paasche VL user here. Great airbrush all around.
  12. Very sharp! Old school cool!
  13. SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!
  14. Cool hot rod! Lots of attitude!
  15. That came out nice!
  16. I have a question...can I have it when you're done?
  17. Love the color combo! Great build!
  18. To add to what Bill said...if you use the Reps and Mins distributor get some wrapping wire from radio Shack. It comes in white blue and red but you can make them black using a Sharpie marker or paint. The wire is 30 AWG. For plug boots I snip some insulation off of some phone wire which is 26 AWG. Here's a pic of a 409 I did for a community build of a '61 Impala...
  19. Welcome Johnny! This is a great place to hang out...Do you ever get up to Mid Atlantic NNL in Towson? That's coming up in May.
  20. Start, build and finish a model in 24 hours? Heck...it'd take me two days just to find all the parts of the last project I was working on. Haven't finished one in over 6 months (major slump...) Hopefully '08 will be better to me than '07. Have fun ...can't wait to see what you guys churn out in a day!
  21. That is SWEET! I'd also like to see a tutorial on the carbon fiber...
  22. Geez Lyle...I haven't even got the wrap off mine yet! Looks cool as always. Thanks for the tips too!
  23. Now that's what I'm talking about! Here's a few back at ya!
  24. Actually that was all I built when I first got back into modelling. I haven't built one in several years now and really no desire to build any at the moment...but here are a few pics of what I used to build.
  25. Man, how I wish I could sit in on this! Also...+ means positive, - means negative. Have fun and watch out for spitballs!
