  1. Real smo-o-o-o-th...as always man! Great job!
  2. Nice and clean! I'm working on one of those myself...hope it comes out as nice as yours!
  3. That is beautiful!
  4. Great pics Dan! And since I forgot to say it Saturday...Happy Birthday to ya ( I know it's one day this week...just before mine).
  5. I'm by no means an expert, but engine detailing is probably my favorite part of a build. Like was mentioned before...go to Radio Shack for some 30 AWG wire wrap (comes in red and blue...for black wires I just color it with a black Sharpie marker.) and go to the craft store and check out the beading section. For plug wires, vacuum lines I use the Radio Shack wire. Strip the insulation off of it for brake lines and hose clamps. Fuel lines you can use braided beading wire or buy aftermarket stuff. For heater hoses and battery cables I use slightly heavier wire, 26 AWG works well...The best place to get wire is from junk appliances and telephones because it's free! One pointer when going whole hog on the wiring and plumbing...if in doubt smaller is better than too big. Plumbing and wiring that is too big for scale looks worse than if it's just a bit too small in my opinion.
  6. Hey Dan...I've used Tamiya over Dupli primer...works out fine. You can use the Dupli clear over Tamiya but the same rules apply as if you were using the Tamiya clear...within a few minutes of the last color coat or wait about a month for the paint to gas out. I really like the Tamiya sprays, they spray great and have a nice out-of-can gloss. If only they'd double the size of the can and knock a buck off the price. Sweitzers Hobbies in York carries the sprays, you can always stop there after club meetings or if you know what colors you want I could pick them up for you.
  7. Love it! The Gun Metal grey and red stripe go together really well. Very nice!
  8. Nicely done! That's a great kit.
  9. Very cool! As always Lyle, very nicely done!
  10. My main concern is using the existing dryer duct for your exhaust. Depending on how long it is and where it ducts to may affect how well the spray booth actually works. Also, if the dryer duct is plastic the lacquer paint fumes will eventually eat it away so keep an eye on that. I don't know of any 220 volt spray booths so you'll need an extension cord. As far as operating near your water heater you should be fine since it is electric and there is no pilot flame or burner.
  11. Oh yeah! Love that one Cruz! I'm glad to hear they are reissuing those...I'll probably get 4 or 5 each of the convertible and hard top. Great subject to do factory stock or mild custom/street machine.
  12. Great pics as always Lyle! Pretty decent turnout considering it was so dang hot. Good show of models on the table too. As far as I know everyone survived Petersons chili. Thanks once again to Jeff Sauber for hooking me up with some tbolt decals!
  13. Great job as always Cruz! Hope it gets to your nephew o.k. Onlything I'd be worried about is the antenna breaking off.
  14. I'll have the '32 roadster (the one that's being used as my avatar pic). <-------------------<<< pic of what I'm bringing
  15. I get the dreaded red "x"'s Bill.
  16. I remember that one! Are ya coming to the picnic Saturday and do ya have anything new built? I'll be there with both my boys and the wife actually will be there this year too. Hope to see you there!
  17. Here is my only 'Cuda...
  18. Great build! Texas Terry one of my all-time favorites!
  19. Very sharp Randy! Can't wait to see it in person!
  20. Very clean work as always James! Great job!
  21. Revell kit painted with Duplicolor paints and clear. Started out as a quick build but that never seems to work out. Kit engine wired and plumbed somewhat. Reps and Mins of MD dashboard. Tailights are small LED's from remote controls for air conditioners. Not sure what the plate will say yet. Thanks for looking.
  22. I didn't see that...I haven't read the "other" magazine in quite some time...but that is a pretty ignorant thing to say. Why comment on something like that especially when it has nothing to do with the model show itself? I've been to Mid Atlantic NNL the last 4 or 5 years now. The model display room is well lit. The MAMA'S crew are well organized, the vendor room always full of good deals. As far as models go the number of cars on the table are pretty near that of NNL East and quality-wise the models at Mid Atl are comparable to any show anywhere.
  23. That turned out great Bill! Like Cruz said...I hope to see it Saturday at the club meeting (if I can get there...I'm on call at work).
  24. This started out as a "quick" build just to get something done. Of course it's been painted and stripped a half dozen times. Irv Arter, we need to talk about how to checkerboard a firewall! Anyway...it's pretty much out of the box with a Reps. and Mins dash board (which is very nice!) and I just can't build something without going overboard on the engine detailing. When it's done it will have fuel lines and carb. linkage, etc. Will post more pics when it's done...hopefully by this weekend.
  25. What you need to do is build yourself a working convertible top frame like Bill Geary and hook it up to a battery and just have the top go up and down on it's own during the show. Hey Bill!
