  1. Dude, Gene, Dude !!!!!!!!!!! Every once in a so often, I throw out my most expressive........uh, .......well, ...... expression. I have used this, maybe 5 times in 5 years. However, for sheer determination:
  2. The wheelstander will (hopefully) be an '09 Challenger version of the Hemi Under Glass. The F/C to be determined when the mood strikes.
  3. Thanks Gene. Yes, the Charlie Allen Dart will be the red version. I've got 3 sets of decals to do the car, the transporter and the van. How's that for ambitious? Although I haven't commented yet, I'm watching your Purple Powerfest closely. You've made great progress so far on such a far gone subject. As far as the Chezoom's go, one will be a funny car, one will be a wheelstander, neither will be a Corvair. I might get to them before the end of the year. lol
  4. Back again with an update. I think y'all will like the direction this is going in. In my case, that means I've gone Full Blown StupidNutz. When a build nears completion, I start thinking about how it will be displayed. To be blunt, that means when the car is done, I'll be starting a new post about the Transporter. Due to it's unusual nature, it will need a support van as there's no room for tools and parts. Today, I recieved a shipment from Jack's Model Roundup and now have that support van. It's the Jimmy Flintstone A100 van. I'll get a Little Red Wagon for the chassis and interior. (Somebody, Anybody tell me that will work.) I also got some other stuff I wanted and I'm off to the races. Below, you will find pics of the stuff I got in the mail today and the future transporter. I have every intention of getting more work done on the car this weekend. Super Extra Thanx to Codi (Tim) for your recommendation of the Loctite. Also, the Deora will have a ramp, not an enclosed one like the pic. Illustration purposes only. lol
  5. Waaaa. I went through every picture and not one had the trunk open. My guess is the hinge is in the fin? Vettes are not my strong suit. As far as would I buy it goes, only if I had another 2 or 3 hundred million left over. After taxes.
  6. At least you have minions to help with that. Can I borrow a few? Chris, I knew you remembered how to shoot more than primer. IMPRESSIVE. lol
  7. That's a great tutorial Tim. Question: I've been using Gorilla Glue as my CA of choice. From time to time, it will "grow a fuzz" that requires clean up. Does the Loctite do that? Would using the glue applicator prevent / minimize that?
  8. Wowy Kazowy, exactly the way I had envisioned it. Okay, maybe only 10X better. Rock On Tim, Rock On.
  9. I can see and understand exactly what you're doing there. Easy to understand explanation along with great pics. Also a kick in the pants reminder that I should have persued drafting, as it was too fun starting in the 8th grade. We even built models in that class. Muy Bueno Stuff Tim.
  10. Don't sweat it. One of the best modeler's on this board made the same boo-boo on one of his earlier builds. I've made similar mistakes. Overall, it's a stunning build that you can take pride in. I love how the side flames mate up to the headers.
  11. Imagine Jerry Lewis spinning and dancing with one foot while making wild arm gestures exclaiming at the top of his lungs; " There's a pretty...and it's amazing with.....oh my beauty then shining some.....but I can't believe the wunderousness...." That about sums it up for me. Happy New Year Tim!!!!!
  12. Niko my friend, you keep getting better and better. Amazing stuff. I can't put my finger on it, but there's something about that orange car I like...... Happy New Year
  13. I'm catching up from my Christmas vacay and what do I find? Another Christmas present!!!!! Thanx John. It's what I've always wanted. That address in Las Vegas is ......... Oh, wait. I'll hold up until the other car is done. Hope your holiday was everything it could be.
  14. The Zilla Has Landed !!!!!!!!!! I have just returned from a Holiday Vacay, and I couldn't be in a better place mentally than I have been in years. It was a Wonder Full week with my daughter and her incredible husband, not to mention, The GrandBratz !!!!!!! Aaaaaaaahh !!! Run Away. Run Very Far Away. I love 'em all to bitz. I'll need a day of rest and reorganization that may involve some football and mind altering substances. BTW, I got another Junior Modeler Styrene Addict hooked. My youngest GrandBrat, Ricky, first built a PL Ohio George 33 Willys snap kit a year ago that I had sent him for a birthday. He did a great job for a first model and he proudly showed it to me when I arrived. It only needed minor corrections, but we decided to disassemble it and paint it. We got a 3 day modeling & bonding session in that I will remember for the rest of my life. During a paint and supply run to Michael's, I told him to pick the model of his choice, maintaining a snap kit, and he chose a Revell Enzo Ferrari. Then he really blew me away. He plays one of those XBox car chase games and he showed me he wanted a spoiler on it. I told him to go through the parts to see if anything resembled a spoiler. There is a piece that has 2 side scoops connected to a piece that snaps onto the chassis that would be perfect. I had him shave the snap pins so the part wouldn't stay in. Then tape it in place. Next, scribe where the scoops will be, then cut them from the connector and glue them in place. Then 2 corner sprue pieces will be the mounts to be drilled into the trunk. He doesn't think outside the box. He doesn't believe the box exists. I hope everyone had a great Christmas, Hanukkah, Holiday of Your Choice and WATCH OUT NEW YEAR !!!!!!! HERE I COME !!!!
  15. Great build. I've used the SMBC decals before. Luv 'em.
  16. I couldn't agree more Gene. I'm a big fan of the monochromatic look on a model. It gives the color a theme and purpose as long as you throw in enuff complimentary / contrasting colors. That's why the block and heads are black, while all else is not. Intuition and color sense are a must or your build is a bust. Thanks for noticing. As far as progress on the model, um, yeah, that hasn't happened yet. The holidays actually have meaning for me this year and I'm taking full advantage of it. I'm doing the friends and family thing which will keep me off of the desk until next week some time. I wish everyone the happiest times this holiday season has to offer. P. S. After this the Deora Hauler is next. After that, I'm entertaining suggestions for a 1/16 body and decal combo to go with the Hawaiian chassis I finished. Drop all suggestions here along with who carries what for parts and we'll go from there. P. P. S. It doesn't have to be a MOPAR (gasp) body. The important part already is.
  17. Tim, great to see a great update on your great build.
  18. Chris, my man, Wow! I can see the look on your face. All I have to do is imagine my shock when a set back like that occurs. Especially on parts you spent so much time on. Who knew, right? Some day you will impart your new found wisdom on a fellow modeler and their gratitude, my friend, will be your reward.
  19. Thank you Stan, I appreciate it. Sorry for yet another delay, but this time it's good news. My fight with the VA is over and I am a very happy camper. I've spent the whole weekend getting things I've put off for a long time. You can't believe how relieved I am. I'm still busy Monday and Tuesday, but should be back in the saddle very soon. Thank You All for your patience and for following along.
  20. It's been a busy weekend for me or I would have been one of the first to say, "Schwing Daddy!!! Outa Da' Park Darryl!!!!!" I save these for special occasions:
  21. Lemme think. David Gilmour, Pink Floyd, Billy Joel, Peter Frampton, Styx, Journey, Eric Clapton, Elton John, Kansas, Alan Parsons, Phil Collins, Genesis and believe it or not, Celtic Woman. Music has been as large a part of my life as modeling is.
  22. Dear Moderators; I would like to request a temporary relaxing of the language usage guidelines so that I may properly express my true feelings concerning Chris' masterful building skills. Thank You, Me Until my request receives it's inevitable approval, rock on Chris. Rock on.
  23. Thanx Darryl, I'm finally back at it. And a Thank You to Everyone for your patience. I'm a little retentive about how often I post. I shoot for every other day and I feel bad when I go missing. So, Headers, right? Right. Again this is not the norm for building headers when the center pipes are larger than the main and outlet tips. I had to work with materials on hand. After trimming the mains down, I made the center tubes. After a careful measurement I numbered them to avoid mix ups as they are all slightly different. I made a jig to ensure all tips were the same angle before trimming to length. You'll notice the picture without the tips, how the tubes are all caddy wompus? After rigging a clamp, (plastic stock and tape), I glued the tips in place. My hope is they'll stay straight. If not, I'll do some braces. Time for final chassis touch-up, then on to the body paint. Thanx for looking.
  24. Hi Guys !! Thanx for checking in. It's been The Week From Hell That Won't Go Away. And that's caused it's fair share of depression. I found out that my VA Disability rating is jumping from 30% to 80%, but it will still be months before I see a desperately needed dime of it. I even started an account on GoFundMe, but have had no responses in 48 hours. At any rate, I plan on getting some work done on it tonite and hope to have pics soon. The chassis only needs fuel and water lines, headers and touch up. I hope to get to the body this weekend. Everybody enjoy the upcoming holidays.
  25. Years ago, the Hobby Vision convention was held at the Sands Convention Center. As a participant with the local IPMS chapter, I got to help at the Iwata booth and the Testor's Make & Take. I got a couple of Iwata airbrushes that I still use, but this is my prized possession from that show.
