No progress to report as of today. Had a fur baby pass suddenly yesterday, he was a daddy’s boy and was always in the garage with me when I was down here working on stuff. It just doesn’t feel the same today without him. I’ll post some progress when I eventually make some.

I cut down a scrap grille from the Revell 70 T/A Challenger

Not much progress today. Worked on getting the torque boxes opened up and ready for final attachment. Drilled out the holes in the frame. And made a set of headlight buckets for the grille.

LOVE that Torino!! ?

One I built years ago when they were plentiful and cheap. Used the body and bumpers with AMT chassis and innards. Only JoHan I’ve had in a long time. Would love to find another body and bumpers to build another one as this one got destroyed by an Ex.

Not normally a fan of the 40s and 50s era cars but this one has me rethinking my position on them. Absolutely gorgeous build!

That dashboard looks amazing! I’m starting to dig those “Big Girl” Ponchos ?

I’m loving this so far!! I picked up one of these last year on a whim, not having any idea what I’d do with it. I’ll be watching this one progress!!!

Thanks for the help guys!! -
Does anyone know what these 2 hoods are off of? I got them in a bag of assorted parts and pieces a while back and I’m curious what they are.

Can’t forget the torque boxes, or the K member skid plate ?? I understand where you’re coming from with “saving the bling for your Escalade” ? I have another one of this kit in my stash that will be a Coronet R/T(have all the resin goodies for it) so I think I’ll save the steelies and dog dish caps for it. Thank you for the pics showing how you modified the rear axle Mr. Guthmiller , I was thinking along the same lines as what you did but I was trying to make it more difficult for myself ? I think I have arrived at the perfect ride height.

Did something I should have known better than to do. Used a gluebomb chassis for an initial mockup of a kitbash project only to find out that said chassis wasn’t accurately assembled. So now I have some chassis and suspension modifications to make that I wasn’t prepared for. Such is the life of a model builder I guess ?♂️

What did I get today that’s model kit related? Does anxiety, added stress, and a strong want to pull my hair out count? It is related to a model kit. ????

Used a gluebomb chassis for an initial mock-up on a new build I just started. Everything looked like it fit perfectly. Then I start using the donor kit and doing minor chassis assembly for a proper mockup only to find out that I’m going to have to modify the rear suspension and lower the front suspension quite a bit. I know this is the nature of the kitbashing beast but it irked me because I hadn’t planned on doing the extra modifications.

I think I’d rather bite the proverbial bullet and order another one than to attempt that. ??

And after some more mocking up and trial fitting it appears I was mistaken. That’s what I get for using a gluebomb chassis for initial mock-up. ? Mr. Guthmiller you are correct that the rear suspension will need to be moved forward just a smidge to make it line up properly. Not a big deal, and after re-reading your build thread for the Coronet, I feel comfortable with doing that. It also appears the front suspension needs to come down a little bit. I was thinking of using these wheels but, the more I look at them the less I like them.

I’ll give that a try. I bought two of them originally and they were pretty warped when I got them. I tried to straighten one of them and it snapped right in half. If I can’t straighten this one out I’ll probably end up using the twin scoop hood unless someone else makes a resin hood for it.
