HOK enamels - need other reducer options for airbrushing
RJWood replied to Monty's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Where can the DT 870 reducer be found? Timely question Monty, I was just about to do some experimenting with the HOK by Valspar paint and MM airbrush thinner until Kurth chimed in about the clumping. Thanks Ron -
I played video games with my son in the mid 80's to mid 90;s. Nintendo, Sega, we had them all. we would play for hours on end. Some of my most fondest memories with my son were in front of the T.V. with controlers in hand. Some fun times. Must be why me and my son both have rotted brains.....LOL We still like to play a game or two when we cross paths. Hey Nick, I'm have a playstation 2, and some oldschool stuff Nintindo, Sega, Atari. but the prices of games and systems pushed me away. I dident want anything to interfere with my modeling and collecting of models, so I gave up on games so I could spend all my cash on Kits, Supplies, more kits.....

WOW, I built that one, never got a trophy for it, and never a pic in a world wide magazine. You are famous, and infamous at the same time...LOL. Great work Bro. you deserve some credit for a nicely done model. and I applaud you for making it in the Magazine. YOU DA MAN. Keep on building. Ron

The Revell 32' Ford kits are great, but it is very hard to just build it OTB. they are like a blank canvas to build any way you like. Yours has started out great, keep up the nice work. I want to see how you finish it. Thanks for posting pic. Ron

I think Revell deserves a BIG WOOOO HOOOOO! for there efforts on this. They just continue to be the industry leader in New Plastic car kits. All the new kits over the last 6 months have been wonderful. With the building options, and excelent engraving. What more could we want? .....well a few more re-issues of some of there classics would be nice....But I'm very happy with the current kits, and the state of the hobby at this point. Build On! Ron

WOW.....That looks great. I love it. I cant believe how good the hotwheels tires fit and look on it. You should try a black wash on the grill, for a finishing touch. Very nice work. Ron

Hello my friend, everyone who responded gave you the best advice, so I say for the final touch, Lay down one of your nice smooth paint jobs on it. It will fly down the track. does your nephew build models? this could be the start to him trying plastic kits. Keep up the great work. Ron -
BUILD OFF ?........What BUILD OFF? OOPS. Old guy here, I forgot what the topic was. You might want to set up a post with only the rules in it so no one gets confused about the what, when and where tos for this build off. When you say LOWRIDER I dont think of a Cadillac ambulance as a typical Southern Cali lowrider. But that is what you have decided to build. I don't understand that? I have a 59' Chevy Impala about one quarter started, Its been in the need to finish pile for 2 years. Lately its been on my mind, and this might get me going on it again. But I need to finish at least 1 of the 3 in progress. also I work at least 65 - 70 hours a week, this includes the 20+ hours around the house, add the 10 hours a week commuting to my job and back and I'm lucky if I get 2 hours a week to build. I could build it in 2 months. But the months have to be on my schedule, so that means around Thanksgiving I could be finished with this 59' Chevy Impala. anybody see my cane?

Hi all, This evening while looking at the PACE paintbooth web site, I called my wife over to look at them. I told her that I would really like to get one. She said I could get one. But, I must not turn down any more overtime at work, at least for a couple of weeks. So off to work I go. gonna be a rough couple of weeks..LOL... But the payoff is gonna be GREAT. I'm thinking about getting the 24" model. If you have a PACE paintbooth, let me know how you like it. I've heard lots of positive words about them. Thanks in advance. Ron

Michael's Coupon And Reset
RJWood replied to crispy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Hey Clay, I don't think you can use all 5 at the same time. you should go to a different cashier for each one and on different days of the week. I think only one per customer, per day. or something like that. Ron -

RJWood replied to marinewifejones's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Hi Andrea, great pic, looks like you have seen the way I do my models. I have a big executive style desk in my model room, but for some reason I sit on the floor to do a lot of my modeling, can't figure out why. But i do keep my pants on...LOL. BTW, I wonder if we could be related some how, you look like you could be my Lil' sister...LOL. have a great day, and Congratulations on the news of your expecting a baby girl, all the best to you and Clayton. Keep us updated on your progress, and if you guys need anything, don't hesitate to ask. Your friend, Ron -
Hey Sam, I have read that the regular Testors Model master airbrush thinner works fine, and is avalible at most hobby stores. I have 3 bottels of the HOK paint. not used yet, but plan on using the airbrush thinner to reduce it. The info I got was from a reliable sorce. but cannot remember where I recieved the info. I just remember that the airbrush thinner will work. But its a good idea to test on scrap. hope this helps, Ron P.S. My son lives in San Diego, go there to see him and his family often. can you tell me some good Hobby shops in S.D.? Thanks, and keep on building.

Good to hear, you found what you needed and it worked. Is this for a modeling project? or something more sinister?... Good luck with it. Ron
