I have been wanting to see this kit in built form. You did a great job on it, it looks real clean. How did you do the vinyl top? it is very convincing. I thought this kit was a curbside, but obviously not, the engine detail is nice. Great build! Ron.

Anyone do Spinner Hub Caps?
RJWood replied to larrygre's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
R&M Co. of M have recently released some custom parts for the Revell 49' Merc. they include the 3 & 4 bar spinner caps you are looking for. plus a few other types, sombrero, and I think there were some Cady hub caps also. I will look for my source on this board, and get a more accurate discription. Found it. click on the link to see the new Reps.&Mins of Maryland Goodies. They look very cool. http://public.fotki.com/mamaprez/model-clu...eeting-8182007/ -
Yea, I seen that too. a little baffling since research is key to building a good replica. and if I need reference I can ask this board of experts and someone will post just what I need, Ahhhh, Its nice to know I can come on Model Cars Magazine forum and feel like I'm at a model club meeting, friendly atmosphere, helpful, Encouraging people to converse with. Its almost like having the brothers I never had. OH MAN, I'm really layin it on thick now. LOL But seriously, This Forum and the people who come here are THE BEST in the hobby. Ron

Format of Posts on Forum
RJWood replied to Gregg's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The Original on top, I'm just a creature of habit, it would take me too long to get used to the other way. and it is some-what confusing. I would get used to it if I'm out voted. Ya cant get rid of me that easly. -
Thank you, Uwe And good luck on the Bussing S 8000 milk tanker. Hope to see it in progress soon. Regards, Ron

Nice work on the roll cage, Its starting to take shape and the wheels will look sweet no matter what color you paint it. post more progress if you find the time. but definitely need to see a finished pic. BUILD ON ! Ron

Try isopropyl alcohol, let the parts soak a while and it should come off. You might need to soak once wipe parts refill with clean alcohol and soak again. hope this helps. denatured alcohol might also work

Excellent work! the weathering is perfect. Brings back memories of my Uncle teaching me to drive that same truck. I was 12 years old. He would get us on the highway and I would climb into the sleeper and move around to the back of the driver seat, he would lean forward and I would climb into the seat as he moved over to the passinger seat, all this while rumble'en down the highway at around 60 mph. with a 45 foot trailer full of Eggs. He was even brave ( or foolish ) enough to catch a nap while I was at the wheel. He must have really trusted me. I felt like KING OF THE ROAD.

Theme for 2007 Toledo NNL
RJWood replied to Dave Mikrut's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thas not such a boring theme, Living here in Southern Cali, a daily driver can be anything from a Ferarri to a Suzuki Knat (or whatever they are called) Heck, the other day while driving east on the 60 freeway in Moreno Valley Ca. I drove past a Lotus, My wife had to grab the wheel while I tryed to tear my eye's off of that georgous little British Green 2 seater. I've seen Lambergini's on a Wednesday on my way home from work. Accura NSX's are common most any day they can be seen. We even have something for the nostalgic's 32' Ford highboys, 49'Merc's ( well maybe not everyday drivers but every 3rd or 4th day?) LOL...But seriously I have seen some nice cars used as everydayers. I usually scratch my head wondering why you would risk a classic auto to bumper to bumper traffic. -
Thats going to be a fun kit to build and display. cant wait for it. A vintage kit with extra decals, it seems a bit hot to be christmas.

Nice start to this one Rob, the paint came out great! post your progress. I need ideas for this kit. I have it .

Lindberg 1/25 Dodge L-700 & IMC Trailers
RJWood replied to jeffb's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
I agree with you Aaron, Hawk/Lindberg has really stepped up to fill in nicely while AMT seems to be dying a slow agonizing death. They have been re-releasing some of the cool kits that Lindberg did before they went heywire. I've got 2 of the Dodge little red wagon kits they are so cool. build it stock or L.R.W If anyone is interested check out the web site http://www.hawkmodels.com -
Good to make your accuance Phil, and Phil sr. Its great to see father and son active in Car Modeling. My son (now 27 years old) never got into modeling, but then I did'ent do much building back then eather. We were into Baseball I coached many of his teams. Now he comes over to visit and he has to see what I'm working on. I think he might try his hand at it again. Anyway, I welcome you guys to the Model Cars Mag. Forums. The Red Ranger your Mustang looks great. and Moon Pie I think more than a little of the ol' man rubbed off on him.

Hey Phil, I have a Quick change air brush, comes with 5 bottles and you can change paint bottles while you are painting. also got mine at Harbor Freight, real cheep. It is the second H.F. airbrush for me. they work good. but I've only used it with flat paints. I use my badger airbrush for gloss paint.

The interior is very well done. I think you're off to a great start. Do you have a plan for the wheels. are they in the kit?
-
The Caddy ElDorado, looks like a nice kit. Is there any chrome parts in the kit? Lots of nice kits there BIGTRUCK.
