  1. Will that include a Orange paint job ?
  2. I have wondered that myself You are doing a super job on the Mama Truck. I am really liking your Fleet of Tyrone trucks !
  3. I am liking it, I am a firm believer you need to start casting your own "Bandag " tires. Nice job shortening the cab. I have picked up a couple coe kits to make day cabs and single axles out of. (someday)
  4. Mike I borrowed the colors from this pic I found online
  5. What a great project. For some reason when I looked at the first photo all I could envision was a Black truck with J/D logos on the door and the back full of wooden whiskey barrels. Which is odd as I am not a J/D fan or drinker Looking forward to more progress and what you dream up next.
  6. Thanks guys for looking in. Bobby - I have never had any issues with using Elmer's glue . For years I had used it to glue canopy's on aircraft - some of those builds have been around for 20 years and no harm to the paint. I also have used it as a cheater for small gaps (again on canopy's) I had missed and did not want to go back and use putty. Mind you these were small gaps that would show after paint. It does shrink some when filling gaps but add some more and clean up any excess with a damp Q-tip. But it does work really well for masking off small parts.
  7. Jason that is plain awesome. A Big Congratulations to you , and the best thing is you had a good time. Hope your back at it again next year showing them who is Boss. Nice set of pliers for your tool box also. Stay with it and you will have a rewarding career.
  8. Did a trade with vintagedragcrazy - Vince is a great guy to deal with !
  9. I use to use 5 minute epoxy , but pretty much just use a "gap filling CA glue" anymore for the oddities.
  10. Man, all my neighbor collects is scrap wood. Why cant I live to a guy like that. He has some really nice stuff. Thanks for posting this !
  11. Over here West of the Mississippi seasoned Pine burns just fine. Fact is hard woods are really scarce. Heck people use to burn "buffler chips" on the prairie due to the lack of wood. I clean my chimney Spring and Fall mainly for something to do. Once a year would be adequate.
  12. Six inches that is a whole truck in 1/43 scale.. Very nice work, your committed now with expectations
  13. Wow - Very nice "Wall Candy" . Congratulations, both entries are outstanding.
  14. I think you have made a fantastic representation. Such a super looking model. The only thing I might of done different was make the frame a little longer. And trust me it is a "stretch" for me to say that as long wheelbases are really not to my liking. I will definitely refer back to this thread when I get around to building mine so keep those photos on your host site. I have plans for the same truck but the "white top" version. PS Dont forget to paint the KW bug catcher gold..
  15. Jim thanks for taking the time to post this. And I have to tell you the Blue and White hood looks to me one of the sharpest paint jobs and scheme I have seen in a long time. I so want to do a similar scheme.
  16. Very nice work, body and chassis fit looks really good. Is that a "Jim Rockford firechicken" in the background ?
  17. That is a really nice project you did. Looks real to me with the details of pipe fittings, door latch, valves and more . Bravo !
  18. Yeah I am with Jim, nice interior work and I am equally impressed with your front wheels. Thanks for sharing.
  19. Oh yeah, those colors look real good. Did you make the door decal ?
  20. Oh yeah, I am a fan but have no pic of what your looking for. I hope to get more pics of this truck this summer. It is just a few miles away from where we are moving to in Montana. I have plans on building one like it also .
  21. Are you going to re-fabricate the hood and cab out of sheet metal also ?
  22. That is one Beautiful truck , one of the best Revell's I have seen yet. Impressive red stripe painting as well.
  23. Unmasked the fenders and sat the cab on the chassis to motivate me to get on with this project. Before I painted the hood I took some "Elmers" white glue and covered the Peterbilt emblem so it would not get loaded up with paint. Took a toothpick and lifted the edge of the dried glue and peeled it right off. Thanks for looking in,
  24. Very Sharp looking truck. I really like the Green and Yellow paint combination.
  25. That is way cool. I really like these type of kits. Back when I was a kid I had all kinds of stickers of similar fashion stuck to my notebooks and anything else that I proclaimed as "my property" Fantastic paint work !
