  1. The roofs are different.
  2. I built this cars years ago. The snap kit has all the needed decals. The names just need to be rearranged.
  3. Thanks for posting the pixs.
  4. Got to ride along, in a blue one, as an instructor at a drivers school last Friday. Impressive acceleration.
  5. Of all the GM 350-cubic-inch (5.7 L) engines, the Buick 350 has the longest stroke. It made the Buick 350 significantly wider than the other GM 350's — essentially the same width as the Buick big-blocks, which have the shortest stroke of the GM big-blocks. In fact, at a glance the Buick 350 is commonly mistaken for the 455 engine due to the oversized intake manifold atop the engine and conventional angled valve covers like a 400/430/455. The Buick 350 also shares an integrated aluminum timing cover as do most of the Buick small and big blocks which incorporates the oil pump mechanisms as well, leaving the oil filter exposed to oncoming air for added cooling.
  6. Beautiful.
  7. Not true. If you pay with a 1916-1964 50 cent piece, you can buy more than 3 gallons of gas today. It's the paper dollar that's lost value, not the price of gas or styrene that has gone up.
  8. For bass boat big try nail polish. Krylon Blast.
  9. I'll be judging a BBQ contest in Libertyville, IL. A man's gotta eat.
  10. Call me cheap, but I use plumber's epoxy putty that I get at home improvement and hardware stores. Big 4oz tube for about $5. Even used some left over JB Weld products.
  11. If you are going fenderless or with modified rear fenders, then do it my way. The top looks stock, because it is. From the windshield header to the tail lights, it's all one stock piece.
  12. I would say that it varies with wheel tread, speed, and traction. Wider wheel tread, slower speeds, and more traction (wide tires) will produce more hop. A go cart at speed has little hop, but will be almost impossible to push with the front wheels turned. A go cart with thin bike like tires would be much easier to push through a turn. As for a chain driven IRS, I would check out ATVs. http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/509885314/1100cc_chain_drive_limited_slip_differential.html
  13. A standard VW chop is very labor intensive. If you are not using rear fenders it can be a lot easier. Here is a link to a very easy chop that I did. However, it only works without rear fenders. Another side effect is that the engine bay is shortened 3 inches. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=37434&hl=volksrod
  14. I believe the fastbacks were called sports roofs, at least after '69.
  15. Nicely done. I was hoping it was this. It is a Falcon driven in the '62 Sebring race by Marvin Panch and Jocko Maggiacomo. They finished 2nd in the ASR class behind Jim Hall in his Chapparral. This was an amazing accomplishment considering it was just a thought 2 weeks earlier. Yes it was built by Hollman Moody in less than two weeks and powered by a 221 V8.
  16. Thanks for posting those pixs, Len. I started a KSC many years ago, but didn't have a good pix of the rear, especially the tail lights. I wrote or e-mailed Arlen, don't remember which, but never heard back from him. Does anyone know what those tail lights are from?
  17. I'd say it's a one off. Too fugly to be mass produced or even copied a second time.
  18. I'll beat the Runoffs. I'll be crewing on the #28 EP MG Limited MG-B and #4 FF Piper. Ask for Don.
  19. Oh yeah. Put them in the storage unit, next to the beanie babies.
  20. I haven't seen this posted anywhere. I must be slow, since I just learned of this site. Model Encyclopedia link Not only can you find old kits, you can read old magazines too. I think we should all contribute as much as we can. I know I will.
  21. Very unique. Those are interesting headers.
  22. A worthy project, that I have considered.
