  1. Randy, thanks for posting this! I signed up likewise as Harold has some GREAT stuff! I've bought from him in the past, and the quality is super excellent!
  2. Mike, thanks for the BIG heads up! I just dropped him a line as I'm definitely interested! He says they're 1/25, and I'm hoping that they'll fit the AMT Parts Pack Goodyear Polyglas GT F60-15 RWL's I want to use. Looking at that 3D image, it looks to have the CORRECT offset, as well as the correct inner hub diameter. GMP's wheels are a bit lacking in this area, but until I saw these they were the best that could be had.
  3. This would have been during 1993-94 when I was there. I can remember when because that winter we got a TREMENDOUS amount of snow! It's one of the reasons I moved back to the south-central part of the state. We can get a good amount of snow, but nothing like what you guys get in the Pocono regions! I don't remember any local clubs in that area (Hazleton, Wilkes-Barre)...........I do remember always coming back down this way if I wanted to get to a club meeting/show (MAMA, CPMCC). I'm sure there are many closet builders that have yet to come out of the shadows. There's evidence of that whenever I've been to shows such as the NNL East for instance. That show seems to get bigger each year, so there's definitely "new" ones coming there!
  4. Some of you all know how I feel about this car. Yet another iconic car that they messed up to my view, and have never fixed. For those of you that haven't seen it, I did a post here on just how to fix the body. It's not for the faint of heart, but it's an alternative to either getting a junker (and possibly unfixable) Johan body, or paying crazy eBay prices for one. I have the '69 GTX convertible, but it too needs the same mods to make it correct. I never noticed the issue with its grille as I've not set about to build that one, but now I'll have to take a look.
  5. Yeah everything's just fine! Sorry it's been so long since my last update! Everyday events (work along with tiredness) often get in the way, and I can say that I did get the bodywork done.......for the most part. I've since started on the engine and I have taken pics. I just haven't gotten around to editing them, and then try to compose something legible for you guys to read. This weekend since the weather won't be so great, I'll focus on doing just that and update you all. Thanks for asking Tim!
  6. I got an email from them too! This is GREAT news! One can't have too many nuts and bolts! I hope they're around for a looooong time to come! I'm using 0.5mm bolts right now in the building details for my Shelby engine (non threaded). I'll post pics in my WIP thread in time, but these aren't for everyone. A steady hand and certainly some patience is needed to place them where they belong.
  7. Steve, that's a form of "ghosting"------you know when you sand something away, and then when you paint over it the sanded part shows up again, and what surrounded it can look "different" too. Personally, I've never liked Squadron Putties no matter which color they're available in. I guess they're OK for very small areas such as Ace mentioned, but I prefer Tamiya's putty MUCH better. It's got a bit of aluminum in it, and it doesn't shrink near as much as the crazy Squadron stuff. The only drawback to Tamiya's is that it dries quite rapidly the moment it comes out of the tube, so you have to work quickly. HTH!
  8. Wow! Excellent transformation! Somehow those old MPC Stingray 'Vette's seem to look just a bit better than the latest Revell one. Revell's is nice, but the MPC body just has that certain "ooomph" to its tooling to set it apart. Just something I've noticed over the years.
  9. My vote is for embossing powder. Flocking is OK for larger scales IMO, but it's a bit too "hairy" for smaller scales such as 1/24 and smaller. Some don't mind that, but that's bugged me for awhile thus the switch to the powders in the last 10 years or so.
  10. Geoff, don't waste your time with Scaleautomobilia. I tried contacting them not once but twice, and never got a response regarding their Plymouth engine. From what I hear, it's not as accurate as it could be-----just a bit better than the kit one, but not by much. Doug's engine from what I've seen is MUCH better, and certainly worth waiting for when he's able to start selling them. I hate to be a killjoy when it comes to online vendors, but at least give a return reply when someone is asking about one of your products. It's just good business doncha think??
  11. Here's Round 2's latest video on YT showing what they have coming up for March. There's a couple I see there that have my interest, and I'm a bit disappointed in a certain vehicle available in a 1/18 diecast, but as yet no detailed glue kits available.
  12. I'd get this kit when it comes out, and I'd LOVE to see an SM! Always thought those were VERY cool looking cars! My only beef with the standard Citroens is I've NEVER liked those cars in black! It reminds me too much of a rolling roach coming down the road with those nearly invisible wheels in the rear.
  13. VERY nice and clean! I've always loved Mark VII"s and I have this kit in my stash too. 'Cept I want to "fix" the body and make a street car out of it. That's one of those "someday" projects I've got going on in my mind, and heaven knows when I'd get to it.
  14. I'm a huge fan of uptops too in convertible builds and in fact, I won't build one unless I can get/scratchbuild an uptop for it. I feel the same as you Steve...........convertibles to me are incomplete without their uptops. Let's face it, 95% of the time they're running around with the top up---------right??
  15. Steve, your tutorial's linked here. VERY clever idea, and I saved the page so I can refer back to it in the future.
  16. Readily available notchback Mustangs kits stop at '66, although there is the VERY rare '69 or '70 Revell one (or MPC?). Either which way, I wish there WAS a kit of the '67-'68 as it would have saved me a TON of work on my Green Hornet project! Why that notchback's been overlooked is beyond me.
  17. Not my type of car, but I absolutely LOVE the details on this!! Excellent work, and I'll certainly be following along!
  18. Thinking of '50's cars, there's one with a lot of potential as several versions could definitely come from it. 1957 Oldsmobile 88/98. You have the hardtop, post coupe, convertible, and if I'm not mistaken Richard Petty's car could come from this. Isn't that one of the first cars he raced back then? I thought there was a rumor of one coming from one of the major manufacturers years ago, but of course, we've not seen it.
  19. At one time my Dad had a 1965 Dart GT convertible with the 273 and 3 on the tree. I tell you what.......from a standing start that sucker would literally snap your head and throw you back into your seat! I had read somewhere that of all the small block V8's made in the '60's, the Mopars had the quickest 0-60 times of all for their cars. I can believe it!
  20. Rick, a '67 would come the closest to making a '68. '66 is a whole 'nuther kettle of fish. Front and rear ends are a bit different between '67 and '68...........Modelhaus made bumpers (front and rear) for a '68. I'm not sure where you'd get those now unless you came across a total glue bomb somewhere. For a '69, you might want to check out a '70 kit as that's readily more available as those bodies are similar. Hope this helps!
  21. Awww, c'mon Tim! Out with it! Or are they watching your house?? ANY of these cars mentioned would be great, so lets hope they're definitely getting their ducks in a row!
  22. Just to further expand on my conversation I had with Ed Sexton at the NNL East last year------I had mentioned that they pretty much have everything on hand to make this car. They've already done the '68 Firebird, so there's your chassis, the body was a slightly tweaked version of the Camaro, and you already have the '69, you'd just need the proper engine and interior. He did say wasn't this car done before? I told him it had been by MPC, but that one is woefully inaccurate body shape wise (and other things), and there's never been a modern glue kit done of the '69 Firebird/TA. As I mentioned before, he nodded his head in agreement, wrote it down, and said that they'd definitely take a look at it. Time will tell if we see this on our LHS shelves.
  23. Jesse, I'm not a real big truck fan, but I would DEFINITELY buy that! What a nice truck! What year would that be? 1961-'62?
  24. Hmmm.......that's interesting! Well, I'd take ALL of them if only they could be made street stock as well. The racing liveries would be nice, but that sole option limits sales of those types of cars IMO, as all of them were available at your local GM/Ford/Chrysler/AMC store.
  25. There's one missing...............1969 Pontiac Trans Am! Yeah, I'd love to see this one particularly if it can be offered as a 2 in 1 kit. I made mention of this to Ed Sexton of Revell at the NNL East last year, and he wrote what I said down. We'll see if it ever happens.
