  1. Just checked it out Gregg................looks terrific!
  2. Ahhhh, they DID fix the trailing edge of the C pillar compared to the '65! Good! I just may pick one of these up as this really makes a difference! (To me!)
  3. Beautiful job John! The more I see these the more I like 'em! Uptop or no!
  4. Pics would be nice when saying you got this or that------especially a new kit. Also, I won't have to dig this up! As far as posting pics on this forum-----------------you know the old adage, "Practice makes Perfect". Now I'm not being a smart aleck, but Cruz COULD have posted this in Spanish and I would have understood!
  5. That's the reason I made my post above...............I wanted to post a pic of the 1:1 along with the model. I want to see the model in my hands and do some comparing. More than likely I'll build it sometime, as I like this body style a little better than the bubbletop. Hard to believe that just a couple model years earlier, Chevy was making something that looked on the order of a land bound jet! The early '60's were a neat time of change for cars-------getting away from the chrome and fins, and moving into cleaner styling. Yet not an ugly one in the bunch as far as GM's cars are concerned. Some fancy sheetmetal work among all the divisions back then------it's amazing that the '59-'64 cars were all basically the same. Save for sheetmetal and interior changes, the understructrure was all the same. Too bad they don't change 'em as quickly today instead of hanging on to the same ugly styling for too many years.
  6. Gotta give kudos to Paul Hettick (Robbbbb57 on eBay) as well! He recently had a '59 Rambler that he turned from wagon into a four door hardtop on eBay. The model went IIRC for something over $500!! Now Paul put quite a bit of work into that model------first turning it from a wagon into a four door. Not to mention, making it a hardtop.....and also correcting the too long wheelbase. The wheelbase and fenders actually represents an Ambassador which the model in its original form is not. Interior had to be corrected and then the whole thing painted for what Rambler offered in 1959. Lots of work for sure------I think the price he got for it was a bit low considering one doesn't know how much time went into all the converting. He must work in kind of an assembly line fashion as he has a different car on eBay each week. I couldn't do that type of work as now the hobby would become a job, which would sound the death knell of this hobby for me indefinitely!
  7. Well y'know it's gonna be said but.................
  8. Hmmm.............. I'm gonna reserve comment until I see the model up close and personal................ I'm sure you guys will do a terrific job on it!
  9. That and the safety nazis within GM at the time would never have approved of the gullwing doors. Forget the fact that the Delorean came out with them a few years later. I remember the show car in high school in the late '70's------I always hoped that future 'Vette's would have turned out like it, but it never happened.
  10. Hobby Link Japan has it listed as an April release. I usually add a month to that since release dates are never all that reliable.
  11. Gotta agree with you there Rob! When I start a build thread, I usually like to start with pics of the subject at hand in the first post.
  12. I think this is a GREAT idea! It'll be nice to see some not so often seen cars these days on the board, and have some history to go with it!
  13. Jason, here's the complete lowdown on Future. Hope this helps!
  14. Super Sharp! Absolutely LOVE the color! Nice and smooth as it should be!
  15. I've got a simpler trick...........rub your finger on the side of your nose and then rub along the surface of the part you want to have some "sheen". Of course you want to use semi flat paints to do this. No kidding----it really works!
  16. Or they were coming over a blind hill or curve. Some accidents are just unavoidable-----that's why they're called accidents. Now if it was intentional, that's when it becomes a "wreck"!
  17. Cruz, you hit another one out of the park! You've got the details perfect in every way!
  18. Beautiful Job Curt! I've had this kit for years and have never done a thing with it. Yours gives me some inspiration!
  19. Sorry I'm so late to reply! I guess better late than never! Here are a couple pics of the "Green Hornet" I built back in 1995-96. By no means perfect with my standards today, one can see the quarters should be a bit "straighter" than the fastback. I remember reshaping the '68 Shelby's fastback rear quarters, and adding the '66 roof which was modified to reflect the '67-'68 style. I would do this one a bit different today though if I were building it.
  20. Thanks a lot Bill..............and Happy Birthday! I'm right behind you by a few months!
  21. Whoops! Whadaya know.......there's the part still in the box! Hmmm....................on the other hand were heaters standard for Mercury in '49? This car is a little before my time!
  22. Lee the entire thread to the build was here. The interior pics I believe are on the last page before I decided to stop posting on the thread, and get 'er done.
  23. For those of you with Vista Home Premium, there's always the "snipping tool" accessory to grab pics that are "copyright protected".
