  1. I bought a four foot tall Homer Simpson dressed as Dancing Homer. It was stained as if it was in a flooded basement so I opened it up, discarded all the styrofoam inside and ran it through the washer.....came out fine. Now to restuff it. Went to the store and got a bag of bean bag styrofoam pellets and proceeded to restuff it. It's close but needs to be stuffed full and then restitched. I looked at a couple YouTube videos and it's now just needing a little bit more and then stitched closed. I lack that talent so I reached out to the local dry cleaner and they said their seamstress could probably do it so I brought it in. I dropped it off with a back of the pellets and several hours later they called to say it would be $55 to top it off as they would have to send it out. Are they sending it to Florida via a First Class airline ticket? Um, NO! I went back up the next morning and the lady said they were swamped with wedding and prom dresses. I wasn't trying to get my daughter into USC (too soon?) so I wasn't throwing money at the problem to jump the line.....just need it restuffed.
  2. My Dad passed away two years ago this Memorial Day weekend. For whatever reason, he would put his pennies in a coffee can downstairs. I took one of them to a Coinstar machine today.....in case you're wondering, this is the capacity of a 39oz coffee can. I know there is another I have to cash in as well.
  3. Left over shredded pork loin from the crock pot.....add maplewood bacon.....lay down Jack Daniels BBQ sauce.....top it off with sharp cheddar and gouda cheese. My oldest (turns 22 tomorrow) and I could only polish off half of it.
  4. Don't see this one coming back any time soon......Factory sealed....$10
  5. Just type in that you were searching the Internet for a solution to your explosive diarrhea and you must have typed the wrong thing in the search bar. That should give them nightmares for a while.
  6. A couple nights ago, I pulled in the driveway and there is a patrol car coming down the street the opposite way I came and it pulled over across the street. A minute or so later the cop knock on our door asking if we have a little brown dog. Apparently our dogs (plural) were running back and forth along the back fence with the neighbors dogs (plural) when their unattended son (around two years old) came down the yard and got into the middle of fiasco and (per the officer) the kid thought it was okay to reach through the fence to pet one of mine and got bit. Didn't break the skin but the officer needed the vet records to show he was up to date on his shots. No problem...e-mailed the vet that evening and they e-mailed them to me first thing the next morning. The officer said several times we did nothing wrong. The wife is cheesed they called the cops instead of just coming over to ask as we live in small town America and we all know each other. My question is where were the parents?? Our dogs (both houses) have done this for years so it was known they get amp'ed up and we both let the dogs run back and forth. We each only do it for short periods of time as the noise is unreal.
  7. Seeing all the hoopla about the actress paying off the college to get her daughter into USC, what was the show/movie where the parents were discussing this scenario and the school said it would require the donation of an international airport to get their kid enrolled in that school?
  8. Beef and Broccoli.....sans the broccoli. I'm saying I substituted pork for the beef but that's what happens when you grab it off the shelf at the store without the glasses on. It did seem to have lower sodium as a result. Served over rice (from the Chinese grocery store)
  9. Dusty and missing the passenger side exhaust from the muffler back, but it was $2.
  10. Had not seen one in a long time. $10 open, but complete
  11. The wife and I went to grab dinner an event after out youngest son's school event (he went with the mother in law). We hadn't been to Gold Star Chili in a while so we went up the road only to find the place has been gutted inside (don't know if it's a remodel or a rebrand). So we went to Burger King next door. Waiting for the guy at the register complete his order, we see a sign on the register that they are out of chicken, onions and tomatoes. With half the menu wiped out, we turned and went back down the road to Popeye's chicken. The older lady waiting on the person in front of us rang up the guys order (thought he wanted an eight piece, not the number 8). He caught the error as he looked at his receipt so she voided the order. Okay, but she still didn't process the order for the #8! One last try we went to Taco Bell and it was okay at best.
  12. The only info on the ID card is what's in the picture. I was over at the swap meet building when they closed the display area for judging so I didn't get to go back over.
  13. As seen on the contest table in Columbus, OH yesterday. No builder name or details on the sheet. Didn't stay around after the judging (heavy storms forecasted for the drive home)
  14. I know Jimmy Flintstone makes one of the Revell Cadillac CTS but I want the Pontiac version.
  15. Just because my car has the bun warmers didn't mean I wanted to have to use them into Spring!!
  16. HR sent out the pic of dropping off the six contractor sized trash bags of these little bags. It takes a 1,000 bags to make one mats and apparently the donation was enough to make at least a dozen mats. It was one of those odd moments where you think 'wow' but also the realization that we're serious packrats we donated THAT many bags in just one month of accumulating them!
  17. Crosley wagon. I remember these were built narrow enough to be shipped in boxcars, but you don't realize how narrow they are until you see it directly behind a Mazda 3 on the trailer ahead of it.
  18. I'm on the committee at the office for giving back to the community. One of the new additions for this year saw a flier for a local organization that takes the plastic grocery bags and makes mats for homeless and they are distributed locally. A box was placed in the office outside the first floor break/vending area. I saw the lady who suggested this and told her I know it's been emptied several times, but then she shared....she's empties the 4'x2'x'2 box EIGHT times. Wow......I know we all have that stash of bags, but when asking 130 people of mostly young people, I didn't expect that! We're collecting them through tomorrow (it was available all month)
  19. Cut that corner JUSTA but short......
  20. Good catch! I reached out tonight and will circle back with him tomorrow night.
  21. Let me check the directions tomorrow night. I bought a sealed inside edition of this kit today.
  22. Two of the furry foursome made a break for it this a.m. I let them out for their morning sit down and only the two females came in. Brian (aussie/husky mix) is almost always the first one at the door but this morning apparently he and the Jack Russell mix (Turner) got out through a faulty piece of fence. Oddly they ran towards the construction of the new school (neither are fond of loud noises) and we found them about 3/4 of a mile away still hanging together like Max and Duke from Secret Life of Pets. Can a dog buy a lottery ticket? How many times can one dog (Turner) cheat death? 1) Dropped at a rural shelter in a pet carrier on a 90 degree day but at the wrong door so he somehow survived almost 24 hours in that 2) No one ever came to claim him so had the rescue not taken him, his 'time' was up 3) Coyote got into the yard and he was first to go after it. The aussie (Jamie) saved his like although the other two joined that fight 4) He bit a neighbor that he's known for 5+ plus years when she reached over to pet him on the nose. She is a huge dog lover and never made a stink over it 5) Had a fatty, rapidly growing mass on his neck.....vet removed and not cancer 6) Today, ran away and found 3/4 mile away and made his break during the school drop off so he crossed two streets both within 100 feet of a school
  23. Picked up at a local auction....open and complete. Likely to be traded off but may keep as I don't see this one being reissued anytime soon
  24. Went to a diecast show today and couldn't pass up a couple Greenlight Exclusives. Would like to have either of these in 1:25....and 1:1
  25. I get one pic of all four and it's a butt shot. Not sure what they were focused on but for once it wasn't food! From L to R Brian, Jamie, Bear and Turner. I think Jamie (Aussie) may be in the witness protection program as she leaves the room when you try to get her pic. All are rescues.
