Beef and Broccoli.....sans the broccoli. I'm saying I substituted pork for the beef but that's what happens when you grab it off the shelf at the store without the glasses on. It did seem to have lower sodium as a result. Served over rice (from the Chinese grocery store)

The wife and I went to grab dinner an event after out youngest son's school event (he went with the mother in law). We hadn't been to Gold Star Chili in a while so we went up the road only to find the place has been gutted inside (don't know if it's a remodel or a rebrand). So we went to Burger King next door. Waiting for the guy at the register complete his order, we see a sign on the register that they are out of chicken, onions and tomatoes. With half the menu wiped out, we turned and went back down the road to Popeye's chicken. The older lady waiting on the person in front of us rang up the guys order (thought he wanted an eight piece, not the number 8). He caught the error as he looked at his receipt so she voided the order. Okay, but she still didn't process the order for the #8! One last try we went to Taco Bell and it was okay at best.

Upcoming Moebius Ford Pickup Box Art Model?
HomerS replied to HomerS's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The only info on the ID card is what's in the picture. I was over at the swap meet building when they closed the display area for judging so I didn't get to go back over. -
Just because my car has the bun warmers didn't mean I wanted to have to use them into Spring!!

HR sent out the pic of dropping off the six contractor sized trash bags of these little bags. It takes a 1,000 bags to make one mats and apparently the donation was enough to make at least a dozen mats. It was one of those odd moments where you think 'wow' but also the realization that we're serious packrats we donated THAT many bags in just one month of accumulating them!

What did you see on the road today?
HomerS replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Crosley wagon. I remember these were built narrow enough to be shipped in boxcars, but you don't realize how narrow they are until you see it directly behind a Mazda 3 on the trailer ahead of it. -
I'm on the committee at the office for giving back to the community. One of the new additions for this year saw a flier for a local organization that takes the plastic grocery bags and makes mats for homeless and they are distributed locally. A box was placed in the office outside the first floor break/vending area. I saw the lady who suggested this and told her I know it's been emptied several times, but then she shared....she's empties the 4'x2'x'2 box EIGHT times. Wow......I know we all have that stash of bags, but when asking 130 people of mostly young people, I didn't expect that! We're collecting them through tomorrow (it was available all month)

Two of the furry foursome made a break for it this a.m. I let them out for their morning sit down and only the two females came in. Brian (aussie/husky mix) is almost always the first one at the door but this morning apparently he and the Jack Russell mix (Turner) got out through a faulty piece of fence. Oddly they ran towards the construction of the new school (neither are fond of loud noises) and we found them about 3/4 of a mile away still hanging together like Max and Duke from Secret Life of Pets. Can a dog buy a lottery ticket? How many times can one dog (Turner) cheat death? 1) Dropped at a rural shelter in a pet carrier on a 90 degree day but at the wrong door so he somehow survived almost 24 hours in that 2) No one ever came to claim him so had the rescue not taken him, his 'time' was up 3) Coyote got into the yard and he was first to go after it. The aussie (Jamie) saved his like although the other two joined that fight 4) He bit a neighbor that he's known for 5+ plus years when she reached over to pet him on the nose. She is a huge dog lover and never made a stink over it 5) Had a fatty, rapidly growing mass on his neck.....vet removed and not cancer 6) Today, ran away and found 3/4 mile away and made his break during the school drop off so he crossed two streets both within 100 feet of a school

Went to a diecast show today and couldn't pass up a couple Greenlight Exclusives. Would like to have either of these in 1:25....and 1:1

I get one pic of all four and it's a butt shot. Not sure what they were focused on but for once it wasn't food! From L to R Brian, Jamie, Bear and Turner. I think Jamie (Aussie) may be in the witness protection program as she leaves the room when you try to get her pic. All are rescues.

Everyone Bring In Their Brass Monkeys???
HomerS replied to OldTrucker's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
An area animal shelter posted on Facebook (when the temps went below zero with wind chills -35 for a few days) if the residents leave animals outside without proper shelter, they would take the animal! I saw them yesterday and went over to thank them for someone stepping up for these animals. They said that most residents took the warning but some still did not and had to take some, including a badly frostbitten cat. -
This weekend is My Furry Valentine. It's a massive animal adoption event at the convention center of rescues and shelters throughout the area showcasing some 800 plus animals looking for a home. Some shelters host satellite adoption events as well. Leaving work early tomorrow to help a couple rescues set up and working one of the booths on Sunday. The wife was suppose to come up but the polar extremes in the weather lately has her not feeling well. She SAID it was to help but I told I thought it was to ensure I didn't come home with dog number 5.

I always liked the Simpsons and as I grew older, I see myself growing into his form. My favorite Homer line......just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand! Kinda my life mantra
