    Police Car ??

James, I'm almost 100% sure all the prepaints had the MX-7000, I have the undecoratated one, the CHP, and the Georgia State Police versions, and when looking at my local Ollie's, all the others show the same lightbar, too. Also, that is the only lightbar in the kits after the original OHP Vision/Vector, and the OHP is also the only one to offer a shotgun. Also, all the MX-7000 lightbars including the one on the "blank" kit of Don's is prepainted exactly how it appears on the box. Here's a pic of my GHP prepaint just as it came in the box, it's the last car on the top deck of the carrier.
  3. It does sound like a great day Robert! This is just a little advice for your next show experience, if you find something you really want but with a higher price tag than you would really want to pay, wait until that last hour or so and make an offer on it. Most times, a vendor would rather take $35 or $40 for the kit they have a $50 price tag on than drag it back home. Also, don't be afraid to haggle a little bit, most vendors will deal with you. There has been sometimes I've walked out of a show with a trunk full of models for around a $100!
  4. The best I could suggest is maybe send him an email with the specific tires you would like and ask Alan. He may even be able to tell you if the wheels you want to use would work or not.
  5. I'm not really sure who makes it or if it would even work for what you want to do, but I remember seeing in Finescale magazine photoetched welds for replicating the welds on tanks armor. Maybe something like that might be worth investigating?
  6. Actually Johnny, no I didn't! Maybe that's why I haven't heard it in a while! Still makes a funny picture, though!
  7. Did some say Jack Nicholson!?!? I'm sorry, I'm just trying to lighten up the mood around here!
  8. I think it would be a good idea, Dustin. I don't know if this idea would work for the three of you who came up with this build idea (since I noticed you were one of them), but what about a generalized pricing system for those of us who may want to pull a kit off the shelf and work on something for this. I was thinking something along these value lines maybe: Pre 1985 kits: $5.00 1985 to 1995: $8.00 1996 to 2005: $10.00 to $12.00 2006 to Present: $20.00 to $25.00 Now I know some of these may be a lowball price compared to what a kit might go for on ebay, but it's just a suggestion.
  9. And you carry a bigger gun too, right!?!?
  10. Please Skip, some things are just better left to the imagination, and my imagination tells me Harry looks something like this! That's what we would like to know too! Now, on the serious side, I enjoy being a member here, and I commend Gregg and Harry for the job they do not only to not let things get too far out of hand, but also for the fact they do let members post their feelings and get it "out of their systems" so to speak. Yes, sometimes those feelings lead to a topic getting locked, but at least we DO get to air those feelings. I could guarantee the locked threads in question and this thread also would not have gotten this far on the "other" forum we all know is out there. That is one of the reasons I don't visit that one very much anymore and I'm on this one countless times a day, I'm a "casual" type of person and not one for "stuffed shirt" types, and that's the way I see the two forums, this is my "casual" meeting place just as if I'm "talking" to you at a show or model club meeting and the other is the "stuffed shirt" meeting place where all that is discussed is the "business" of model building. I even sometimes enjoy the difference of opinions and watching some of the threads that spiral out of control to lockdom (if that's even a word ) because it adds some laughter to my otherwise boring life, and if that offends the few "stuffed shirts" here, I'm sorry. Also, just as Skip, Ed, and Don did, here is a picture of me with my fiancee so you can know who you are "talking" too. By the way, to show how casual I really am in life, this was taken at her cousin's wedding. This is as "dressed up" as I get, and yes, I AM wearing blue jeans!
  11. Here you go Charles. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUcSF7gQMmA The Magnum crash is at about 5:00 minutes in.
  12. Wow, something to finally go with the 1/750 scale airplanes I have!!
  13. Nice job Lui, and welcome to the forum. I have a 90 F350 myself, so I have a soft spot in my heart for these old Fords.
  14. The best and most friendly product and the only thing I use to strip chrome is Dawn Power Dissolver. It works in as little as a couple hours, it has no fumes, and will strip both the chrome and the lacquer undercoat. These parts were done in about 3 or 4 hours, and required just a light scrubbing with an old toothbrush under the faucet to clean up. These were sort of "forgotten", and this was after maybe a week or two. When I finally was ready for the engine in my project, all it took was a quick rinse with water to look like this, no scrubbing involved!
  15. Isn't that the car the "Top Gear" guys like to drop pianos on??? If it is, would the kit include the optional piano?!?!
  16. So, since I get the home version, does that mean I get the KW and another Freightliner!?!?!
  17. Josh, you sure you aren't thinking of Hurricane Ivan in 2004? If I remember correctly, it came through there before it came this way, and even here in West Virginia we had over 10 inches of rain in less than about 12 hours as it roared through, and cause major flash flooding. In the 35 years I've been alive and living here, it was the worst flooding I had ever seen in this area. There are even still a few scars left from that day that can still be seen today! As for quakes, I apparently slept through tremors that were felt here from a quake in Toronto (I think) last year. I woke up later that day to reports on the news buildings in nearby dowtown Wheeling, WV were evacuated because of the tremor! There have even been other small earthquake right here in WV from what I found out from the news that day. Also, while I was driving truck, there was on I heard about hitting the Big Bear Lake region of California when I was on the I-5 in LA. Thankfully it wasn't a big one, but I still was in a hurry to get out of California after hearing that!
  18. I love that song Justin, and I believe bandit is right, because I seen another video of it with Jesse Watson mentioned. I don't care who sings it, I was on the road for 12 years and never heard it, but I guarantee if I had, it would have helped get me down the road on those long trips! Chicken lights and chrome is the ONLY way I roll! EDIT: By the way, that "Mini KW" in the video, I have seen it in person, the pics don't do it justice! If I remember correctly, it was built on a Ford F350 or Dodge 3500 dually chassis. EDIT #2: Sean is right, "Chicken Lights and Chrome" is sung by Jesse Watson. I was curious and checked iTunes for it, and they have it!
  19. You know, I just figured it out, Marshall has the hood and cab from his Monogram 1/16 scale Kenworth sitting on the frame to his 1/24 scale Freightliner FLD!!!
  20. WHOOOPS, sorry Bart! I thought that was the engine they called the Blue Flame, but that was actually the Corvette's engine, wasn't it?
  21. Oh, and that front bumper should work, too.
