  1. Coming along great Chris, it would look perfect behind a certain Duster if you had only rusted out the quarters and trunk.
  2. The real XR6. http://www.streetrodderweb.com/milestones/0302sr_xr6_hot_rod_project_car/
  3. Ummmm, no Zen......you're thinking in Oz terms again.
  4. Put me down for a modern take on the XR6 Roadster (Google it....).
  5. You don't get much traction that way though....
  6. Strangely, the tallest building in Chicago is spelled Willis but pronounced Sears......
  7. LMFAO !!! The engine in the Nascar kits is a Chevy with valve covers that say Dodge. The only engine that would come close would be in the older version of Monogram's 70 Challenger T/A.
  8. Post some new pics, I know you've been working on it.....
  9. I forget what this part/section is called to which the oil filter mounts, but I think this is the first time it's been fully molded on a B-series Mopar big block like this: Casey, there is a reason nobody has molded that part of the Hemi engine that way. Its totally wrong!!! I've never seen any B/RB/Hemi engine in 1/24 or 1/25 scale that has ever gotten the front of the engine right. Some are better than others and some are passable, especially once in place and you can't see most of the detail. http://images.hotrod.com/techarticles/p148221_image_large.jpg
  10. Snow ???....Snow and traffic are the only 2 things about Chicago I don't miss.
  11. Never judge a man until you have walked a mile in someone else's carbon footprint.....
  12. That was the problem I ran into last year. If you want everyone to PM you a vote you already know mine.
  13. The front suspension used a VW torsion bar set up, hence the 4 bolt pattern.
  14. Tom, I have to take issue with your history of the XR6, here is a link to an article written by Tex recounting the history of the XR6. http://www.streetrodderweb.com/milestones/0302sr_xr6_hot_rod_project_car/http://www.streetrodderweb.com/milestones/0302sr_xr6_hot_rod_project_car/
  15. Those are definitely the "right" wheels for this build. The stance looks great too.
  16. Add 1 more Nick, here is the Datsun. But first, please click on the video for a little backstory..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-6TRvZ-GYw Old MPC kits with flip noses aren't know for their great fit, this one was no exception. Over the last 4 days I tried everything to get the nose to fit right....or even better. Nothing seemed to work. I really can't complain about the rest of the kit as everything else went together without any problems. Now the plan is to have all of your cars impounded before the race begins, giving me a 3 state head start. Great builds by everyone, I'll see you guys when you get to California......
  17. I'm not sure when the exact deadline is now.....I'm just about finished but it will be tomorrow night before I can post pics of the Datsun. I've spent the last 2 days trying to get the fit of the flip nose better but its just not gonna happen, I'll have to live with the 3/16" gap between the doors and fenders......Ya gotta love old MPC kits.
  18. An extra 48 hours is exactly what I need too. I've been pushing like crazy the last 2 weeks trying to finish this Datsun and made a few mistakes along the way. And I just keep running into problems....
  19. Why even bother with clear red ??? I wish all of kit makers would just cast their taillights in clear plastic. I can make a clear part red or amber, I can't make a clear red part anything other than red.
  20. Run Run Rudolph......before you get run over !!! ....and shouldn't that sled be red ???
  21. Yeah sure Zen....LOL. If those sandwitches are Vegemite they would be considered Biohazzard !!!
