    My Rat Rod

Man….I walked right into that one!!!!! Pretty inventive and a great sense of humor here!!!!
  4. Nice work here……!!!!
  5. I have to echo several comments on this truck….. "Perfect"…..sums it up well…. You delivered a very "BELIEVABLE"…..and what in 1:1 scale would be a "driveable" truck…. Driveability in the real world is always a big draw for me…..and you nailed this one….as well as delivering a very nice period piece of hot rod iron!!! Nice work here-----!!! Regards Bill (Duntov)
  6. Uhhhh….. Looks like a finished model to me…..
  7. Hi guys…. I have to agree it will be a bit hard to take the 41 Plymouth apart but it will happen….. I think lowering it just a bit with some period (1950's) custom wheels and maybe rework the engine… is all in store for this one…. Thanks!!! Regards Bill (Duntov)
  8. Bill…. Try Publix…… they vary greatly from store to store with where they place things and there is significant variation from store to store in the seasonal things they carry….as I mentioned this was in the seasonal section with the Christmas ornaments that they just started displaying….. Also------ sent you a PM about another source…. This looks like an OK truck…Ed made the comment that it was "acceptable"….. They also had some early sixties Chvey trucks as well (65 ish I think……) a red and a cream color one as well but the Plymouth looked better….plus there are enough of those out in plastic that I would not go after one….. I am considering stripping the paint and doing some rework…..maybe rebuild the engine?…. long before the Revell 50 Olds came out AMT / ERTL did a '49 Olds and I stripped that one and painted it and added some after market wide whites and baby moons….tweaked the interior a bit too…... still have that '49 in my collection and it looks great…… I had to fill in the slot in the trunk (originally it was a bank) but that was the only real issue and it worked pretty well….. Regards Bill (Duntov)
  9. I recently built the Roth 2002 version….. It looks nice now…..but was not one of my more pleasurable builds…. the doors were a pain in the butt……that is being kind….. I know I have several more buried in my inventory…..they need to go away…...
  10. I ran across this in a very unlikely place….. Christmas decorations section in a large chain grocery store…..hmmmm….strange indeed but….. It is 1:24 scale by Motormax….. nice looking and I considered grabbing it….under ten bucks I figured I can't go wrong….. Does anyone have experience with these ???? Looks like some good possibilities here….. pretty nice right out of the box with the exception of a few oversized details here and there….would love to see a Revell plastic version of this (like the 37-38 Fords and 41 Chevy???? Maybe????)…..it would certainly round out the collection…..!!!!! Any comments on this one???? Regards Bill (Duntov)
  11. I just talked to Zora and told him about your build…..he said…."Keep Going!!!!!"
  12. This is some pretty inventive and very well thought out work you have here…. It certainly is an inspiration to try modifying a die-cast…... Your results are fantastic….. Regards Bill (Duntov)

  16. I love it when I can build a car for someone....adults sure....always good........ but when you can do one for a young person....it really makes it fun.... Great build and of course I am seriously prejudiced....I love the subject matter!!!!! Regards Bill (Duntov)
  17. Interesting...this looks like the Matranga Merc of George Barris fame......what a car that was.......!!!! I have a resin version of it kicking around some place.....done by Jimmy Flintstone....some nice work..... http://www.kustomrama.com/index.php?title=Nick_Matranga's_1940_Mercury
  18. ********** I could make room for a 1:1 version like this in my garage in a heart beat....!!!!!!!! Have to think about that.....!!!!!
  19. WOW....this is neat!!!!!
  20. I like the Fujimi 250 for several reasons... 1) Lots of nice detail 2) Very precise fit 3) POSITIVE body to chassis mounting 4) Excellent posable wheels The down side.... The wheel and tire mounting system uses the ubiquitous neoprene collars.... It can be tough to get the wheels on ..... Other than that no issues and a really great kit... Regards Bill (Duntov)
  21. Nice work here and you absolutely nailed the paint!!! Regards Bill (Duntov)
  22. Thanks Curtis I will do that.... that seems to be the key to getting these little beasts together so don't resemble a "glue bomb"!!!!!! )
  23. This is pretty cool...are the headers two piece?
  24. Thanks Curtis.... Just FYI...I recently got my hands on the Hasegawa 250 Testa Rosa.... THAT should be interesting as well....
