  1. Per usual, awesome job, my friend! Love the color selection and the keen attention to detail. Dr. Cranky, 'the lean, mean, styrene-buildin' machine!'
  2. Couldn't agree more. This is like watching a great movie, where you're riveted to the screen waiting to see what's gonna happen next. Don't forget the butter, Doc'.
  3. My user name, 'qwit pushin,' is something my dad used to say after 'breaking wind.' (something like 'pull my finger,' only after the fact...) as for the avatar, well, that's my late father assembling an early AMT kit with mom and me in winter 1961. My dad got me going in the model hobby, so I thought it fitting that everything here, identity-related, go back to him.
  4. According to this article in HRM, it was built as an AWB car: http://www.hotrod.com/featuredvehicles/113_0704_ram_rod/viewall.html
  5. As I mentioned in a post a couple of months ago, my primary 'go-to' shop has closed its doors, however, the couple of local shops that cater to RC fans seem to be thriving. Fortunately one of them also maintains reasonable model car stock and supplies - not nearly like the aforementioned shop, but hey, I'll take what I can get in this economy.
  6. Looks great!! What's the source(s) for the engine? ....What is the engine?
  7. I concur with all the other comments here, your take on this kit is spot-on. Love the attention to detail, and as someone else here noted, it's not 'overdone' - just right!! NICE!!!
  8. I wouldn't even consider myself to be a low-rider fan, but I love this!! Well done, love the interior color choices.
  9. Upon further research, I see what Ed's saying - definitely '56 Grille et. al.
  10. Based on the grille, (which I'm aware has been modified, but appears to have retained the top bar) combined with the headlight 'brows', it appears to be a '54. Differences between 54 and 55 are very subtle. You might be able to start with AMT '53 kit as the sheet metal was all the same from '53 to '55 and then pirate the grille and headlights from the Monogram '55 kit.
  11. From page 56 of Model Empire's current catalog:
  12. Model Empire carries the Shabo rub-on transfers in many manufacturers and styles. http://modelempireusa.com/
  13. I concur with the others, this is a stunner! And like many have already stated, the color combination is not one I would have considered, but it's what separates this build from others. Great take on a great kit, well-done!!
  14. Love it!! 'Super-detailed' is an accurate description,....and super clean!!
  15. Gorgeous, great exterior/interior color choices. Very clean.
  16. I like the color combination. Nice paint detail work on the underside.
  17. Love the 'stealthy' look you went with. This thing just screams, "Don't mess with me, 'less'n ya wanna get hurt!"
  18. Raul, Did you have this at NNL last week? I love this car, having seen the real thing at the 'Blackhawk Museum' in Dublin, I can tell you that you captured it beautifully! Well done!
  19. Love it!!! Especially love that you exercised restraint when applying the weathering touches. Very nice, love the details!!
  20. Yet another reminder that just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should.
  21. Last week, NNL West. This week, Sacramento Autorama. Back-to-back weekends of great cars, big,....and small. Anyhow click the link below to see the eye candy at this year's Sac' Autorama. http://s1132.photobucket.com/albums/m577/qwtpshn/2012%20Sacramento%20Autormama/
  22. I had to google it, but here's the definition from 'Urbandictionary.com': "To be #1, the best. To be sick wit it. To be incredible."
  23. What are the environmental conditions? Do you have a humidifier/dehumidifier running? Some have mentioned prep, could it be a reaction with the underlying primer/basecoat?
